I'm on sprint right now with my evo 4g I wanna know if you guys think I should make the switch I have lte in Indy so I would love to use the skyrocket but is it worth it I know y'all might wanna flame me before you do I have searched but I'm using the taptalk app so cut me some slack lol

I just did switch from sprint to att, and being in the MD/DC area my signal has gone from little to very good, but that's a decision that only you can make, I had the 3d as well and got a skyrocket. Loving the phone, samsung takes a little to get used too, but it's a great phone, battery is very good too, and it's speedy as all getout.
I haven't touched a Sammy since my moment I see rooting has changed a bit is it pretty easy
Sent from my PC36100 using Tapatalk
you're asking skyrocket forum members if the phone is worth it? I'm going to assume most will tell you its worth it, since they have the phone - lol.
Some of us are capable of unbiased opinions (at times)
I myself am curious of what the lte offerings from sprint will be. Devices, speeds, plans
If I were still on sprint I would not leave and tie myself down to a contract on another carrier right this moment.

You make a good point but honestly sprint has done me wrong to many times and I feel as though its time for a change of pace
Sent from my PC36100 using Tapatalk
I wouldn't trust Sprint. I mean, they won't expand coverage in Oklahoma and Kansas and just want to roam on VZW because they have no money left after getting the iPhail.
Honestly, AT&T is a good investment. I switched from T-Mobile to AT&T, and I haven't been happier with coverage, and speeds (AT&T must have done a new LTE configuration, since my downloads have doubled).
The phone, is actually really great. I noticed no performance difference when compared to my moms AT&T SGS II, and the Adreno 220 is better at a lot of things then the Mali, which is awesome.
You'll be nothing but satisfied, believe me. And if you want unlimited data, the iPhone 2G trick still works.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I727 using xda premium
Haha. I know I know. It has only been since August since I left Sprint after 13yrs....but the only reason was data speeds. If they were to increase that, unlimited, at a fair price..sure I would look into them again.

Well, as it's said before, it's really not ever going to has as much dev as the Evo 4G, unfortunately.
Honestly, I think we've squeezed out as much GB'ness as we can, since the phone stock is pretty much perfect.
I don't know if someone is building AOSP ICS (look on the T-Mo SGS II forums if you want to know if they have anything interesting, we can run anything they run), but once we get ICS, development is SURE to pick up.
You could always switch launchers, since Samsung doesn't deeply integrate TW into the OS like HTC, they just add their launcher and a few mods, which makes the phone really nice honestly.
I believe I've been sold lol hope to see you guys soon you have been awesome

Yay! Another one converted!
Believe me, you'll be shocked when you see how snappy the SR is, even on stock.
The S3 is no Exynos in terms of CPU, but the Adreno 220 is faster then the Mali-400, so it'll be amazing GPU wise.
EDIT: Actually, I think the only difference between the Exynos and S3 CPU wise is that Qualcomm went for a modified Cortex A8 design which lets each core run at different frequencies constantly, and Samsung went for a cortex A9 design that doesn't allow that, could be why the Exynos is quicker, but hell if I know.
Lol I might do the switch today if I get off work in time also I'm in early stage dev work so who knows I might bring something to the table I'm good with decompileing and editing but still alot to learn about smali and xml

That's my main beef with the iPhone...who wants their phone to look the exact same 5 years from now?? I just find it boring as hell. And WAY too thick.
You know what's funny about Apple though, they fight tooth and nail to get Android off the shelves and say their software is the key point of their pitch but they neglect to mention all of Googles' features they use on a regular basis for one when you search for anything on an apple device it uses Google, can't blame them there right.
Now their saying their new 3d maps are going to beat Googles Maps but G Maps has been in beta for a few years now, they know what works and what doesn't but if Apple wants to give it a go then it should be interesting.
I'll stick with this device, there will always be something wrong somewhere with anything some one has, nothing is perfect otherwise there wouldn't be competitors.

Strange, I still wish that my One S could match my old iPhone call quality and network reception and I wish I woukd not have to use a second phone to use Skype...
I'm away right now and I have to use Skype to make all my calls, I can tell you that sometime I just get enough annoyed that I just change my SIM card...

That's the way it's headed anyway...Google is about to blow the provider model out of the water with their next gen Nexus devices (which should even put your mighty gen1 Nexus to shame), working directly with more manufacturers and selling directly to consumers. And I can't wait...I think they'll be doing all us Android users a big favor, longterm.
Apple really good in steal ideal and make it better than the original one. if you look at notification bar on iphone, it's really nice and i think it does better job than our android notification. I also like their notification badge/alert/ pop up for message/mail/FB... Still i can get popup app from play store but i want some thing that come from the operating system itself... I takes android phone because it's open, not because it better than iphone.
Yeap...open source FTW!!

On some tests i see that Tmobile One S has inferior battery life than the international one.
That's due to the bloatware they put on it. Rooting fixes that though.

No disrespect--just curious
Why would you be "new to the One S" and now asking if you should get something else and wondering about issues. If you mean you don't have it yet then there are many threads and posts on the forum already. And as far as I can say, it is perfect if you are OK with no SD Card and 9.3gb available internal memory--I am. Some complain on Multitasking--I have no issues. Although, all that is individual needs and opinions--and is covered extensively in various threads--
Highly recommend starting to read the General and Q&A sections for a wealth of info--
Whatever your currrent status is with the phone--enjoy it if you got it--and you will enjoy it, if you buy it--
Ken
I love the phone only thing I've noticed is multitasking, and signal. With regards to multitasking what happens is let's say you're web browsing or playing a game whatever then you do something else like check xda app. When you go back a lot of times instead of those apps continuing where they left off from it has to start up back again. It actually does it for xda app also. With the signal cell tower signal I just get a lot of fluctuations between bars dropping and coming back.

I flashed Trickdroid and Axiom S and wifi calling still not usable. I have turrible reception in parts of my house.
I wonder if the crappy wifi calling quality has its root in an buggy radio, if another ROM is also suffering from it? Anyhow, that is really the only "defect" I can find with this model. Otherwise, it's good! I wish it would have a removable SD card, but I recall reading somewhere in the forums that it is possible to mount external drives and such on this phone, but you need a USB Y cable (since the phone can't power the external device), or at least that's what I remember. One might also need a ROM to use the phone as a USB host. The possibility to do this makes me a little less upset over having just 16 GB of memory (or on TMob US only 10GB because of all the junk it comes with).
GS3 FTW!
Earlier today I received a notification that said I needed to get a newer sim for WiFi calling. I'll stop by the T-Mobile store tomorrow(today).

It's a blackberry running android with a data connection and a T-Mobile Sim card.
What more could you want?
I'm going to try and find one of these magazines! I'll check book stores and grocery stores and the like.
at the very least you could just put the sim in a regular phone and make free calls and get free data.
anybody else have thoughts on this?

Yeah i read about the 1k on the mashable page :/ Hopefully in the future we'll get to see some XDA guy who got his hands on one. i was really hoping to find one. there's almost no way though.
as a side note about the advertisement, i think a QR code to the twitter feed would have worked just as well...

I personally think the SIII + Android wallops any phone running windows. If you're pissed at yourself and want to teach yourself a lesson, then yeah make the trade.
If you like the windows phone launcher just get launcher 8. It's free and then you have the ability to get the best of both world. Android is great because you can transform it to look like anything. Also if you want the windows notifications there are apps for that to. That is why android is great you can mix and match to make it look like anything. You could even make it look like an iphone with espier launcher (personally wouldn't do that).

I just feel that with all the live tiles on wp8 that it would consume battery like no other. And personally I think they look more boring than iOS.

No, I wouldnt. I would get bored of the UI really quick and not being able to customize it much
I'd give it a shot. If nothing else you'll reinforce your decision one way or another.
I got the HTC Trophy Windows Phone and was quite happy with it. At the time it was very refreshing to have a phone that was always responsive and never needed a reboot....it just worked. I was also glad to have free time in the evenings again by not tweaking/reflashing my phone all the time. There were very few apps that I couldn't find alternatives for with Windowws phone....don't let anyone talk about quantity of appa like 125k apps aren't enough...another refreshing experience was the uniformed-ness of the apps...and the general clean looks.
There are a lot of things Microsoft did right, but in the end there were too many limitations compared to what android offered (actual file management for non music, video, or picture files).
I'd keep an eye on Windows Phone as really some of those limitations were due to MS playing catch up and not having enough time to implement them. They will fill out those features soon enough.
Sent from my SCH-I535 using xda app-developers app
No for the sole reason of a pathetic number of apps (good apps...not random apps. ex: still no pandora app). Is verizon giving you this as a replacement or are you selling it? If its a replacement, no way...new gs3 for a refurb windows phone..thats a no for me.
Stop with the lack of apps bit. Sure there may not be an official Pandora app, but there were at least 2 apps that used the Pandora api and worked just as good as Pandora....let alone the html5 Pandora webpage worked fine...including you still being able to use the universal music controls on the lock screen. The unofficial app was actually better because it never played an ad....though it might have changed in the last couple of months.
Now to back track a bit as I got carried away with supporting Windows Phone to realize what you were really asking.....with the support Samsung has behind the S3 and the hardware features I don't think you'd really be gaining anything by switching....in fact I will admit that you'll probably lose features by switching. If you had an older Android phone then sure, but an S3 is too capable and stable to be replaced by anything just yet...except maybe a Note 2....
