tf300t w/ dock doesn't wake up - Transformer TF300T Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I just got my dock and it's wondeful, unfortunately it doesn't wake up with the touchpad or the usb mouse as it does w/ my tf101. I have to press the power button for it. I have latest asus firmware 9.4.3.26-20120416.
I've been looking all over settings controlling this function with no success.
Does anybody have the same issue?

Try settings -> ASUS customized settings -> Mobiledock Powersaving mode, and uncheck that, see if it fixes it.

Already tried that, only works once after rebooting. then just doesn't work anymore. another bug to add to the infamous list of asus android tablets.

do you mean you use TF300 dock with TF101?
because your title is tf300, but you mentioned tf101 in thread...

I reported this bug to Asus. It wouldn't hurt if other people reported it also so maybe they fix it quicker.
When opening my tf300 tablet while connected to the keyboard dock on firmware .17
the screen would wake. Now since the OTA to .26 firmware the screen does not wake
when opening he tablet. I have to push the power button to wake the screen.
Customer support suggested a factory reset which did NOT fix the issue. (I knew it
wouldn't).

Don't have the same issue here since disabling sleep on dock under asus settings.

I also have this problem. I also unchecked dock sleep in asus settings. We are missing something here. We will find it.

well im glade i read ALL THE posts. im currently bumping this to get more attention, i agree , my tf101 turns on when opening the screen as well. my tf300 i noticed it day one NOT doing this. i told my wife this is a really good reason to return it. it bugs hard core.
again the issue is opening the tab with dock the unit wont wake automaticly. closing it turns the unit off right. the lazy side of pressing a button is a nag to me.

Is this happening to everyone on .26 and upwards? I'm still on .17 and my screen turns on every time I open the lid

Mine works correctly as well.
Any idea how much of a battery drain this is though? The description in the ASUS Custom settings for this says it will conserve battery if this feature is disabled. That always worries me.

What version are you running? .17 or upwards?

I updated from .17 to .30 and my tablet no longer turns on when I open the lid

[Q] Screen unreponsive after wake from sleep

For some reason the TF touch screen is completly unreponsive after some wakes from sleep. not always though. thankfully the keyboard works fine so after a reboot all is well.. anyone have any idea why?
I've been having the same problem since day #2. The screen does not respond but the if you rotate it the orientation will change. What I was doing was turning it off by holding power button and after rebooting it would be working. Unfortunately this stopped working. Now, even after a boot it doesn't work.
I'm considering returning the eee pad to best buy and getting my money back.
I saw a thread about this in another forum (But I can't post the link ...sorry). Basically it was attributed to the latest patch and it's seen in people who don't have the keyboard dock so it would not "complete" the update

Dock Hotkeys non-functional?

Hi all,
Fairly simple to explain: Most of my dock's hotkeys don't work.
Back works, as well as screen lock (hit this again does not bring the TF out of sleep, though I don't know if that's normal or not), and the music keys work most of the time. Nothing else does however.
Transformer is a B50 model, the dock is a B60. Running latest firmware. 8.6.5.9 or whatever it is. Stock, unrooted. I've tried hard resets, factory resets, etc. None of that has helped. Any ideas?
Thanks in advance,
Since you are not rooted and still Stock I highly suggest contacting ASUS.
I also have this problem with my b70 stock, I think Asus keyboard services or keyboard background services has closed. Not so sure about it but sometime detach and attach again works

[Q] Lost Wake Tablet via Dock on JB Update

Before I upgraded to JB, I used to be able to wake the device (turn on the screen) by hitting any key on the keyboard. I seem to have lost this ability after upgrading to JB.
Anyone have a similar issue?
Thanks!
Yep noticed this yesterday myself.
Opening the dock or the old fashioned way of doing it with the power button seems like the only way for now.

Go to Asus custom setting and make sure dock power saving is not checked. By default, I think it is checked. I took the check out and now works.
I knew there was something somewhere.
Cheers mate.
I am having the same problem so I checked and removed the check mark in the Asus custom settings and it seemed to work. A little while later after the tablet went to sleep it would not wake up without pushing the power button. I'm on a bone stock TF700 (unrooted). Any ideas?
Thanks!

I went there and it was already unchecked.
Still having the problem. If it helps, I am rooted.
Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. I've been aware of this issue from the first day on JB. When I flashed the OTA it was off, so after the flash it was still off. However, it didn't work. I had to turn it on then back off and it worked again. For a little bit. Its a very wonky feature now.

Dock Wakeup Issues

Hi All,
Been having this issue for a while now.
Basically with my tablet docked and the option which disabled keyboard wake up in the settings UNTICKED I cannot wake my screen once the screen has been locked for longer than 30seconds.
No matter what I do i.e use the touchpad or press keys the only way to wake the screen is via the power button.
It's extremely frustrating has anyone had the same issue previously?

100% I made sure. I've been through all other options and can't figure out why this is happening. Is been the same across numerous full wipes. I could make a video to show the issue if it helps?

Tried it only works to unlock when the screen is on. Then it works. The issue is turning the screen on via the keyboard.
I don't think ths has worked since JB came in. The behaviour you are describing is default I believe. If the screen self locks then you don't get much time to use the touchpad to unlock it.
On mine when I open the lid it unlocks the screen. Does yours do this?

OK, last try, disabled the screen lock (no lock screen) and see if it wakes.

Yeah when I open the lid this does wake the screen.
I guess this must be it, weird is it even worth the bother of emailing ASUS?
It's weid that when THAT tried it for me he had no issues with it, unless he wasn't leaving it for long enough. Noticed that tonite i've had no issues with using the trackpad to wake the screen however, spotify is running so maybe that interferes with the locking process?
Thanks for the help Buh, but don't think it's worth disabling the lock screen completely just to get this working!

I tried it this morning (after 6 hours sleep time), and it still worked - I hit the lock key, and the tablet was awake instantly - how unfair, I was still sleepy.

I hate you
I guess this is my tablet punishing me for using such poor stock ROM's on it for so long
I also have this problem when I use Cromi. I found that I can "fix" it by clicking and unclicking "MobileDock Battery saving mode" whenever I reboot the tablet-doing so allows me to wake the screen using the keyboard. Also, see if you have the same problem with Cromi-X. I recently upgraded to Cromi-X and the keyboarding waking screen problem went away.
I had the same issue, and fixed it with a clean wipe and install...

[Q] Touchscreen re-calibration?

Hi all - my TF700 has been solid for about 9 months, but this past weekend the touchscreen started getting wonky and now it will work for 5-10 seconds and then not register any touches, until the power button is toggled to put it to sleep and then wake up and go through the process again. In my research, it appears as if this can be addressed through recalibration of the Touchscreen.
However, I don't even know if that's possible with my current stock/rooted setup. I did try booting into recovery, but I saw the RCK/Android/Wipe Data prompts, and didn't want to go anywhere without knowing what each would do. I'm guessing maybe the Android button, but I'm not sure.
Is there an easier way to recalibrate the touchscreen without doing a factory reset, or going to a new ROM yet?
Thanks!
This may be a hardware problem with the digitizer going bad. I would contact Asus, they probably will recommend a factory reset and you should try that anyway.
But a custom rom will not take care of this problem - at least I do not think this is software related....
Good that you are still under warranty!
FYI:
RCK will boot into the stock recovery which will not do anything unless you have an update file downloaded somewhere on your storage - it'll just show you an Android falling over with it's belly open a ! triangle. Scary if you don't know what it is! LOL
Android will boot you back into your system. This is a so called 'cold boot' and you could try that. I doubt it'll help, but it won't hurt either.
Wipe Data does exactly what it says. You better have everything you care about backed up before you execute that command.
You use the Volume Down button to navigate between the icons and the Volume Up to execute.

Hmmm. after enabling Developer mode (so I could d a Titanium backup), I decided to enable the touch sensing, and what I've found is that it appears as if there is a spot in the northeast quadrant (while holding vertically, with buttons on the right/dock connector on the left) that gets stuck in the 'touched' sense (the little dot sticks, and in the kindle reader, it acts like the text is selected).
Sometimes it gets unstuck when pressing the power button to sleep, and then re-logging in via the lockscreen code I have set. Sometimes it doesn't. I guess I'll contact support and see if I can capture it on video with my phone.
