The 3110 model is the one that has a GSM chip?

I have p3110 and it is only WiFi so, p3100 should have 3G.

if you want to make a phone call
buy the p3100 version.
it come with 3G like galaxy tab 7+

Groove ip and a Google voice account SHOULD achieve this.
I was able to make calls with my Nook and Transformer with this two.
Neither one have 3G capability.
Wifi connection needed.

Grooveip works great on it.

I've looked all over and not found a 3G version for sale. I thought I had on eBay, ordered it, and got a second GT-P3113.
Can someone PM me where to find the 3G version?

If you want 3G/4G connectivity, just get a MiFi--personal WiFi hotspot. I have unlimited 4G Wimax from Clear and it's amazing. I can also send/receive texts and voice calls using Google voice and GrooveIP. So, functionally, it becomes a 3G/4G device without any mods.

[Q] Wifi only model (GT-P6210) GSM/cellular capability?

Does the galaxy tab plus wifi model (GT-P6210) have GSM capability?
I've been searching/reading for the last few hours, but I haven't found a definitive product manual/spec sheet that answers my question... a lot of the spec sheets online have conflicting info.
basically, i'd like to get a tab+, and run it as a wifi tablet around the house, but also be able to run it through the tmobile voice plan as a cell phone (NOT DATA PLAN) after rooting/installed sim card. samsungs website only lists GSM band support for the GT-P6200 model, so i wasn't sure if the antenna was in the wifi only model (GT-P6210) and disabled, or absent completely.
sorry for being a noob about the devices' capability. i have genuinely searched around this forum and dealers websites but would appreciate confirmation from somebody that has actually done this (or something similar)
thx
No. It does not. That's why it is called wifi only...

thanks, thats what i initially assumed, but some tmobile tech support was trying to convince me otherwise and i didnt want to drop money for one without confirmation.
It has no cellular hardware. You can set up a pbx if you want to make calls over wifi, but that's about it. I just tether it to my phone over wifi

SIM Card

Forgive me now because I know this has been posted somewhere already. I am on my work computer and these outdated browers will not show the search box.
The user manual for the TF300T states something about SIM card installation and..well I just dont see it. Am I missing something or did ASUS lie?
That only applies to the TF300TG (3G GSM model) and the TF300TL (LTE model). They just printed a single manual for all the models since they're practically the same.
Hi The TF300T does not have a 3G radio so no sim card slot
only th TF300TG has the 3G radio and a sim slot
Jules
Sorry did see the first reply
So yea What he said
Got it, thanks.

Does the TF300TG have GSM capability ? Or it just 3G data ?

only 3g data and sms, the capability for voice is there but nobody has hacked it yet.
as a workaround you can get voice by using google voice or other similar apps, even under 3g (but with most of those apps you need to install manually the package as play store wont let you download it)

Thanks for your answer. I currently do not know if I am going to buy a galaxy Tab 2 10" or a TF300T 3G for Xmas.
The Galaxy Tab 2 has already the GSM capability... so good start for this one. On the other side, the dock is quite nice on the Asus... so I would prefer this one actually !
Any idea if the GSM will come soon in the TF300T 3G, or we are far from hacking it yet ?

What do you mean by 'make it as a bluetooh headset'?
You mean spoof another BT device into thinking your sensation is a Bluetooth headset?! What reason would you have for doing that?!

I wanna buy a samsung Galaxy Tab, and it's embarrassed to make a phone call with the big one in size of 7 inch. (I only have one SIM card placed in Tab) So... is it possible that I make a phone call with sensation via bluetooth ?
Thanks again!

You can't make calls on a tablet anyway. Leave the simcard in your sensation!

Why?
Is it limited by sensation hardware or firmware? Or something else?
No, your tablet can't make calls, so you're never going to get any calls or txts if your sim is in it.

Yeah, the tablet's only use of the SIM would be for mobile data.
You are better of doing it the other way. Leave the SIM in the Sensation and use wifi tethering to connect the Tablet to the phone for mobile data.

I am sure that samsung Galaxy Tab can make calls , see the spec. http://www.gsmarena.com/samsung_p1000_galaxy_tab-3370.php
The tablet with support for GSM voice communication, SMS, and MMS.
so.... is there any way to make calls by using sensation via bluetooth instead of bluetooth headset like BR950S ?

I know the way you said, but it will get heavy drain to battery with wifi tethering.

Yes you can make phone calls via GT P7500 (Samsung 10.1) but you hv to download an apk with tweaked firmware. I use it via Bluetooth ear piece. I am not sure if you can use sensation as Bluetooth headset though while using the tab as phone. For me, i get another sim card with the same no and put it in the tab. But i hv given away the Bluetooth ear piece hence unable to test.

Okay fine. But if you don't want to use the giant tablet to make calls, then my sollution is still your best bet. Use the phone as a phone and wifi tether the tablet to the phone's mobile data.
You get exactly what you want and everything works easily, and you don't have to create unique sollutions to get the tablet to push calls to the Sensation.
or use a voip solution on the sensation and call it a day

phone app in my aplications list why?

This is probably the second dumb post for the evening but i am just curious why the phone app is sitting in my applications list as my galaxy note 10.1 is the wifi only model? Just curious.
Thanks
A firmware for the 3G model ???
jje
or wifi VOIP calling for apps like Skype, etc.
I have voice and groove IP installed and running on my tab, thus the phone app is a must for me.

Thanks for the replies, I didn't think of voip makes Sence though. I assume it wouldn't be 3g model firmware as I just bought it from Harvey Norman.
Thanks
