is there any suggestions plzzz

You cut the cable?!
No idea. Why can't you just take it back to a repair centre so someone with more experience can fix it properly for you?

I am a samsung tech and I order the screen as a whole.
Only bits you save are the mainboard, back, battery and battery cover.
everything else is replaced.
if you find anything else on ebay its a fake part and will void your warranty if anything else goes wrong.
So if you do take it to a service centre they will charge you for a £90 part and labour
why it doesnt work when i connect the cable manually ???? hell why all of samsung galaxy parts r hard to deal with !!! , hard to replace the screen , hard to fix anything
its not my problem when i want to replace the screen and its glued to everything , its idiot
Samsungs are very easy to fix if you have official parts. Phone companies are doing this to cut down the blackmarket of phone parts.

Think if that cheap fake part drawes more power then the standard and damages the mainboard why is its samsunga job to fix it?

Hello.
I am new here but I've been lurking for a while even before there was a dedicated area for the SGR. This might be a long read since I put in a lot of details. Now, straight to my point.
My fone is new. Not even a month from purchase. Never rooted since I'm afraid I might brick it since I'm not well inclined with technology.
It was ok when I got it but the problem started to occur a few days ago.
When I turn on the fone, it goes past the samsung animation part then, the screen goes all black, even if i press any button, I assume it's turned off.
What I tried:
1. Tried lodging a small piece of paper in the battery area because I thought it was a terminal problem. (did not fix it)
2. Cleaned gold plated contacts of the battery and it's phone counterpart. (did not fix it)
3. Factory Reset the thing by pressing vol up+mid button when turning on. Deleted ALL of my things in the fone but the problem is still there.
So, when the fone "dies" on me, even if I don't take out the battery, it will turn on but it will prolly turn off again as soon as 10 secs after the samsung animation part. When I take out the battery, sometimes it will operate normally but, it will turn off again randomly. The past few days have been very tasking for me. I think I'm going crazy....
What I've done to the fone since getting it:
1. install a custom skin from Market
2. install some social media apps and messenger apps
3. installed a passcode thing to make things private
4. installed games via ASTRO. (download apk from net + put in SD card via USB + install via ASTRO)
5. installed kies into my laptop and connected the fone. Also via Kies Air
6. Restored the fone to factory settings by pressing vol up+middle button when turning fone on.
Just a few minutes ago, when the fone was starting up, I saw a WHITE TRIANGLE with a (!) in the middle on the upper left area of the screen but it was gone in a few secs.
My fone data:
model num gt-i9103
android ver 2.3.5
baseband ver i9103xxki2
kernel ver [email protected]#3
build num gibgerbread.jpki3
My dilemma:
1.I live in the Philippines and the fone was purchased in Qatar. I can send it back but maybe as a LAST RESORT, shipping costs would be quite expensive....
2. SGR is not released here in my home country so I doubt if I can get proper support. Even screenguards are not available here for this model.
Again, I apologize for the VERY LONG read but I tried me best to put in every detail I can to help solve my problem. I look forward to seeing your replies. Please feel free to ask me further details to help you help me. Happy New Year.
PS:
I alos tried calling the fone after it does it's shutdown thing and I think it really dies because it's not ringing like it should be when the fone is turned on.
When I think everything is ok and peachy, I start watching MVs in youtube but, after like 20mins, the fone just turns off by itself. I know it's off because there is no sound coming out so I doubt that the screen just "Sleeps". Thank you again.
Hi, there were more people with the problem you described above. Unfortunately I'm afraid it ended up with service. But since you have an international warranty you may try to contact samsung customer service and ask if you can send your phone directly to them in Philippines instead of shipping it to Quatar first.
exactly my problem.. I gave it to the Samsung service centre, they changed the motherboard of the phone, but still, the problem was there. The new motherboard was also faulty.. They are again changing the motherboard of the phone.. lets see what happens now.
Thank You for your replies. I will try to put up a vid so I can give you lot a better "picture" of the situation.

pardon the link I can't seem to embed youtube properly.
Does the Galaxy R have firmware files up on www.sammobile.com yet ?
If yes , you can try flashing a firmware with Odin3
Herpderp DXKPB.

Hello.
If I upgrade it to the latest using odin, will it void the warranty?

Nope
As long as it's not rooted you can give them an excuse saying Kies did the work
Herpderp Adreno + Tegra.

Recently when it dies, when I restart the fone, I see a White triangle with an (!) inside on the Upper Left corner of the screen. Do you know what that Icon means? I goes away after a few seconds....

hello alister
I suggest you remove all the papers and other modifications you tried.
Then please make a new video and show us how you press the power button after the screen turns black.

I think it could be hardware failure.
Download n flash the latest ROM and then get a USB Jig to reset the flash count.
Then bring it to ur nearest Samsung service centre and get it fixed or replaced.
Hope u get ur problem solved soon.

I have already removed the paper I put on the battery area since I'm certain it's not a contact problem.
When the device shuts off after I turn it on, I press the power button the same way as I usually do.
---------------------------------------------
I decided to go to the Service Center today after work. I hope they confirm the problem and hopefully be able to fix it. I will be updating this thread as soon as I can. Thank you for all your inputs.

Good luck to u and ur R.
Hope all is well and see u back in action soon.
If you have SD card inside, can you remove it and try to start your phone? You can also format the SD card in PC.
Just a wild guess, not harm in trying!!

I tried to remove SD. Still has the shutdown problem.
I want to flash the taiwan rom/update....
I want to know if it will be compatible with my device even if it's stock rom is arabic.....
Will my download counter increase if I use odin and flash the official Samsung taiwan rom/update? I can't risk this because I don't think there is a USB jig for GSR here in my country.
Thank you for all the input guys.
Guys!
I tried something "extreme" well sort of.
I removed the simcard. and the phone did not auto shut off!!! I tried 2 sims of local carriers, same problem, same results.
No sim card so far no shut off.
Sorry for the language but, my mind is so full of **** right now.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
I spoke too soon, it still died even without the simcard but, the white triangle with (!) on the upper left side is gone without the sim.
What I tried so far:
No sim + no sd card = still auto shutdown
No sim + 2gb sd card from box = still auto shutdown
this is driving me nuts.

If your touchscreen is working than you may flash AOKP rom. It has the ICS navigation bar at the bottom so no need to use button saviour. There is not much difference in using the bottom bar or the capacitive buttons.
PS: My both screen and the buttons are screwed up.
ok please atleast tell me where i can can get the lcd changed in cheapest price , i can use without those button but i dont like any defect in the phone....
Now sometimes its working and sometimes its not
Sometime home button not working i think problem is something else

No i didn't because replacing the touch screen wud cost me around 3500+ rupee from Samsung were as in local market you would get new phones for 4500+ rupee with much better hardware and latest OS which was ginger bread and ICS during those days so i didn't go for repairing it and when i tried inquire to second phone retailing shop cost of this phone if i buy second hand it was sold for 1500 rupee so.... it was not worth investment .
