I Everyone,
I notice this issue after i had replaced my touchscreen from a local dealer he has installed Chinese touchscreen is of ok quality as it provide 3 touch points after that day my phone proximity sensor started showing problems like sometime while receiving call my proximity sensor didnt work and some time screen use to go blank and didnt wake till the other guy didnt cut the line or have to continually press the power or home button to wake it up ... and then disconnect the call..
1.) I did sensor test for my phone and found that only after pressing at the place were sensor is situated it worked but only till your pressing it ther later it wont ...
2.) I did try to this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1313232 but it didnt work
3.) I tried to half Dissemble ( that mean i had opened the black panel were camera sensor is situated i didn't went further as i am not well known with such soc ) and reassemble my phone but it didnt work as there was no improvement .

No i didn't because replacing the touch screen wud cost me around 3500+ rupee from Samsung were as in local market you would get new phones for 4500+ rupee with much better hardware and latest OS which was ginger bread and ICS during those days so i didn't go for repairing it and when i tried inquire to second phone retailing shop cost of this phone if i buy second hand it was sold for 1500 rupee so.... it was not worth investment .

HTC Touch Pro gone black!! (Problem)

Greetings!
Today my phone dropped of the desk and closed...i powered it on again vibration was working but screen was black!I tried my old lcd same thing...
For what part should i search t find or it's pointless...??
probably a hardware problem, the clue that the software works that it vibtrates,ry and buy a new scren or go to a shop to fix it
I've change screen i tried my old one(touch(digitizer) problem)..so i think this ( cgi.ebay.co.uk/Keypad-PCB-Flex-Cable-HTC-TOUCH-PRO-T7272-/320597490986?pt=UK_Mobiles_Accessories_RL&hash=item4aa5197d2a ) will solve the problem...
PS: Cant post link cause of forum restrictions.
Hello Dimgr
I lost my Touch Pro last month ( MB gave up) other part are perfectly working. As HTC service center said MB is gone i got courage to look inside deeply.
Therefore i can can the link is NaviCap assembly which is noway handles screen.
What i can guess i could be BD Slide
I though it would be that cause the screen connects with navikey. My phone hit the floor with the screen and keyboard was on!(i cant explain it sorry for my bad english :/) Any other suggestions??I dont want to rip my phone .
Just one day my TP stopped responding to touch, everything else working.
After few days screen went black, but phone was starting Navi key were glowing while charging, even phone was getting detected by PC.
I gave my TP to HTC service center they said Mother Board has gone & it was costing almost a new phone.
So i decided to sale the parts.
I sold Navi key to one of member on this forum only & its working perfectly, this confirms my doubt that Navi key is not the bug in your case as well.
Three things could have happened.
1. The best scenario is the jolt from the drop just dislodged the ribbon cable connecting to the screen. Resolution: Reseat ribbon cable on screen and on body of the phone (requires to open the phone)
2. The screen simple is busted and needs to be replaced.
3. The motherboard got busted and needs to be replaced.
1. The phone is open i even tried another screen all ribbon cables are checked :/
2. The screen seems to be ok... I dont think that both screes are faulty!!!
3.R.I.P. Htc touch pro...
My situation was same & HTC service center concluded that motherboard is gone.
So i believe your motherboard is also gone & this means there something which stops working after physical.
Because after my phone stopped responding to Touch i gave some shock with a hope that it may help in case of loose connection, but next day screen gone black.

Proximity Sensor intermittent

First time poster, though been a regular lurker.
It seems I have a slightly dodgy proximity sensor. Have checked with one of the proximity sensor apps and while the sensor detects if I have my hand over it, it is very unreliable when I take my hand off. It can take from anywhere from 1 to 30 seconds or sometimes never.
While ive been through other threads where people have a completely failed sensor, does anyone have this intermittent problem. Also is this a hardware or software issue.
Im currently htc-dev unlocked running Pacman v15.0.
Out there is a tool for recalibrating the sensor, but you would need to be S-OFF I think and it's done with a service tool (a special PG88DIAG.nbh)
Let me know if you are willing to try it, but it is VERY dangerous if you do the wrong things.
I had the exact problem from the very beginning. Got a phone and the very next day had a screen protector applied. For a few days proximity sensor created problems. The screen would go black when the call started, but until the call did not end, there was no way to bring the screen back. So, I used an app just like yourself to check and saw the same thing happening. Ultimately read extensively and realised it was due to screen protector. Took a scissor and cut off the protector above the sensor. A few months later when I had a new protector (of a different company) applied the same problem reappeared, so I had to cut it off from the top. Except that this time around I was sort of expecting it. I hope this help! :fingers-crossed:
I had the same problem and it continued no matter whether i remove the protector or cut the portion....im unable to most awesome ROM's.......only n sense 4.0 im able to re turn on the screen using power button.if there a way to completely disable this turn off during calls irrespective of the ROM its highly appreciated......
Looking forward for the solution

An update to my situation.. I ordered a new proximity sensor on e-bay and have replaced the same on my phone now. While I was at it, I cleaned up the window as it was pretty grimy and could have been the source of trouble. Also cleaned up the contacts with Isopropyl alcohol. End result.. Im still having the same problem!!
Im pretty sure now that its not a hardware problem and has to do with the calibration. What I have noticed that the sensor works fine in bright sunlight but not when there is less light around. Also am not using a screen guard!
Would it be possible to guide me to the right tools to recalibrate please?
Sorry, I haven't done this myself, but I'll search a bit how it's done by HTC.
They are using a special holding station where the devices are calibrated.

Please help :( !

I have a photon Q LTE
Something is terribly going wrong with this one , first the front camera stopped working , when i click , nothing happens , the button is greyed out i thought it was software so i factory reset , still nothing rear camera is working fine though.
then when i opened the keyboard the touch screen becomes disables , i can't do anything on via touch screen when keyboard is opened.
then now touch screen completely stopped working
i think hearing songs in bathroom was not a good idea , moisture got in , i believe , i tried many ways to dry it out but eveyrthing is becoming worse.
i am out of warranty and sprint charges 50 dollars and not guarantee of any recovery
any help would be highly appreciate.
All of the things you describe indicate some sort of hardware issue - with water certainly being suspect if you think it got into the device.
I'm not sure what we can suggest exactly, other than the obvious - throw it in rice and hope, although most of the components are sealed, so if you are experiencing issues it is probably too late.

[Q] Proximity sensor fail

Hi,
I recently replaced my cracked screen and all went well, expect that now the proximity sensor doesn't seem to work 90% of the time. When I make a phone call the screen goes off and it won't come back on when I move the phone away from my face. Either party has to hang up in order to get the screen back on. I've opened the phone up and double checked the ribbons and cables, everything seems ok.
The sensor itself appears to be fine, it's connected direct to the motherboard by the looks of things. I've wiped the phone completely just in case it was software related but that hasn't helped. Has anyone got any advice on how to fix this? I guess I could try to source a broken One S and replace the motherboard, but I don't want to spend too much on getting it working.
Any troubleshooting advice most welcome..
Cheers...
Mines been doing this since the htc repair centre had it,but its got a lot worse recently, proper random though it will work say 10% of the time.
I can't help with the sensor but I set the power button to end calls, its in the accessibility tab in settings, does make it impossible to use the key pad for options on phone calls though.

Proximity sensor doesn't work during phone calls

My screen goes black when I am in a phone call and it does not turn on unless I hold the power button or something like that. I have already went to the proximity settings to test that it is working.
Any ideas?
Firmware version? Seems to be a bug in last firmwares. Also had this issue some time. Now it seems to be gone.

.In the process of backing up my phone atm to try a factory reset. I'm on latest T-mobile version though.
How did you fix yours?
Bump. Anyone? Is there a fix or is my sensor faulty? Because if it is I can still send it back in for a replacement. Sometimes it will work fine, and sometimes it won't.
I've got similar problem. When sensor is activated, it's keeping activated even if nothing is in front of sensor, so I have to wait for other side to end a call.. any suggestions?
EDIT: problem solved-> I just cleaned the glass on proximity sensor, maybe some dust was there

I also have a problem with phone's proximity sensor. With me, it shows some signs of work right after i boot up the phone. In service menu (*#*#7378423#*#*) -> Proximity switch starts with On value and then goes Off, On, Off, On.. a cycle of at least one minute. The interesting thing is when i cover the sensor it stays On, which means it detects its working. I suppose the sensor is faulty, as I tried several suggested methods to resolve this issue: pressing firmly on top of the sensor, factory resets, reinstalling the software with Sony's PC software kit, some applications from Google market, etc. None of them helped.
As I bought my phone 2nd hand, I see the upper speaker is pressed on its left side a little bit, as if the phone was dropped exactly on this spot at the speaker (which I find is almost impossible, as the front panel is perfect without scratches or anything) or somehow it was pushed with some sharp object. I explained this as it might have a link with the proximity sensor issue, or it may not be connected to it, not sure.
