[Q] i got an error on formating data/media... - Eee Pad Transformer Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

first of all, english is not my language, sorry if i messed some words
hello there, people.
i was running [ROM][ICS 4.0.4][NTFS][3G] Megatron (CM9 based) [v1.0.4] (Cornerstone Available)
and then i tried [ROM] Android Revolution HD 3.2.2 | High Quality & Performance | ICS | 9.2.2.3
i used the "wipe" scripts that are on the Revolution HD tutorial, and then i got bored on that ROM. and i returned back to Megatron, everything worked fine, i wiped data, dalvik, and everything worked just fine, i used guevor test18d, it was the best ROM i had, but then i saw [ROM] Revolver 4 by Gnufabio | 4.0.2 RC2 | ICS | May 06 | FaceUnlock | APM, and i tried to get this new ROm to work on my TF101, i wide data(factory reset), dalvik, format data, and i got the error sayingm can't mount data, can't format data, error mounting data/media... and then i tried to flash on REVOLVER new ROM, but it freezes on the language settings and input method setting, so i decided to get back to megatron, but it didn't work, so the only ROM that worked just fine was REVOLUTION HD, but i really want to get Revolver Working on my TF101, but is it safe to flash onto Revolver again?? where did that error come from???
btw, i'm rooted via RAZORCLAW and i got [Recovery] Rogue XM Recovery v1.3.0 (CWM-based Recovery v5.0.2.7)...
can you people help me flashing to revolver?

I got errors similar to that when wiping, but I couldn't flash anything else after.
I had to resort to nvflash, not knowing if I had an "unbrickable" model or not...turns out, I do.

Well if you want to be a brave soul and try it again, then go right ahead lol.
Maybe you should redownload it and check the MD5. I read in the thread where someone downloaded it 3 times and had a different file size for each download.

Try flashing a stock rom first then rooting/cmw + Revolver RC2 afterwards.

You do know you can use Razorclaw if you're on honeycomb right?
I rooted mine both times w/ razorclaw. The first time I did it, I had to OTA it once to a later HC update, then downgrade. Not sure how that worked out, but it did.

You say you successfully used NVFlash.
So just NVFLash this ROM
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1558170
Now use ViperMod (Option 1) to root
Use OTA Rootkeeper to save your su file
Let it OTA to .21 firmware, use OTA Rootkeeper to restore your root

I downgraded from .21 to .19 to use razorclaw.
I found how here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1417006
Took me awhile to figure it out though

Nvflashing the ics rom, and vipermodding it later was an easy cake!! took me like 6 mins to get it nvflashed and rooted

btw, do you know if a 3g dongle can work on the Revolver RC2?
and what's the best recovery i should get on my tf101?

Warning for those of you using CWM 3.X and Experimenting with ROMs

Don't use CWM 3.x for Nandroid backups! It will soft-brick your phone!
I found out the hard way Tried restoring a nandroid backup, everything looked alright, but when I went to restart it, it got stuck at the HTC screen (I waited for 30 min on one instance!). I reflashed, re-restored countless times all to no avail. I did a bit of research and apparently, CWM 3.0 doesn't fully support the older file system used by Froyo. It was designed for CM7/Gingerbread.
I ended up having to flash CM7 (which booted up right away), and using ROM manager to flash CWM 2.5.1.3. Went back into CWM, reflashed attn1's ROM and back to normal!
That must have increased the pucker factor tenfold

You can flash CM7, but sound doesn't work Once the kernel source is released, we'll know what makes the Inspire work differently and it should be relatively simple to port the CM7 kernel over to the Inspire
It'll run, but no sound until we get a kernel made for it.
EDIT: Too late. Answered above. lol

[Q] Wifi problem ICS, any idea ?

Hello,
I had the official version of ICS on my TF101 (the one with the locked bootloader).
I root, installed rom manager and flash recovery(5.5.0.4) -> backup performed.
Everything was perfect, however I wanted to try CM9 nightly build, I could install it without problem.
The CM9 wifi working on but the rom is not the most stable I wanted to go over the official thanks to my backup.
I ended up with the stock rom official ICS, but not enable the wifi. So I went back on the CM9, and there the WiFi working. I install the Revolution HD and the wifi does not work.
Back on my backup ICS official and still no wifi.
Have you an idea of where this might come?
Thank you in advance.
PS: After the installation of my CM9, my tf101 boot automatically on the recovery, forced to make a cold-booting android to begin.
I think the reboot into recovery thing is a bug that I've read some people have. I personally went back to the Rogue recovery after noticing that 5.5.0.4 didn't have option to access external SD.
Wifi...well...not too sure about that problem. Try to reflash the stock ICS rom back over on top of your backup. CWM is not the most reliable recovery, IMO.
Why don't you try Revolver. I bet that you'd stay on that rom. Oh...and pick up the superwipe lite script from the revolution thread if you haven't already. Good to use when you are swapping roms.
If you are restoring a nandroid, it is normal because nandroid doesn't restore the kernel, so you have to install the rom you want then restore the nandroid.
If you want to use CM9, use the one in my signature. Everything is working.

What is the problem? Wifi doesn't turn on? your network doesn't show up? you can't connect to your network?
You can always try other roms and see if wifi works. but if you have a dock i recommend to use my CM9 build which has working dock battery
wifi doesn't turn on. Block on "wifi activation..."
Same problem with the Revolver 4
It works with another recovery.

If you're doing a nandroid restore, flash the ROM you're trying to restore immediately after the restore is done. CWM for some reason does not restore kernel. Flashing the ROM will restore the kernel.
I have just had this problem, so I reflashed a stock kernel and now all sorted.
Alan
I am having this same problem. It began when I went from cm9 nightly to revolver.
I have tried a factory reset, re-flashing Rom and a stock kernel. If anyone could help me out here it would be greatly appreciated.

[Q] Reverted to stock

Hi all, I decided I'd return my tf101 to ASUS stock firmware from TeamEos 4.2. So I duly flashed the f/w and all seemed to take OK, until I rebooted, the tf got stuck at the Android is updating stage, I tried reflashing everything but no good. This is not a request for help but more of a WTF. I have it working now thanks to NVFlash but I would like to understand why my first effort didn't work.
What recovery were you using?
What I did was flash the Asus stock *blob* using dd from a terminal running under TeamEos

Well, that is the hard way.
After doing that you would need to take the Asus firmware zip and put it on a microSD and boot to stock recovery and it should install it.
When I flashed back to stock, first time (using Roach2010's 3.X.X.X CWM) I just installed the Asus Firmware zip from CWM. Worked perfectly. Second time, did the same thing using TWRP 2.3.2.3 and once again, worked perfectly.
