Hello,
I had the official version of ICS on my TF101 (the one with the locked bootloader).
I root, installed rom manager and flash recovery(5.5.0.4) -> backup performed.
Everything was perfect, however I wanted to try CM9 nightly build, I could install it without problem.
The CM9 wifi working on but the rom is not the most stable I wanted to go over the official thanks to my backup.
I ended up with the stock rom official ICS, but not enable the wifi. So I went back on the CM9, and there the WiFi working. I install the Revolution HD and the wifi does not work.
Back on my backup ICS official and still no wifi.
Have you an idea of where this might come?
Thank you in advance.
PS: After the installation of my CM9, my tf101 boot automatically on the recovery, forced to make a cold-booting android to begin.
I think the reboot into recovery thing is a bug that I've read some people have. I personally went back to the Rogue recovery after noticing that 5.5.0.4 didn't have option to access external SD.
Wifi...well...not too sure about that problem. Try to reflash the stock ICS rom back over on top of your backup. CWM is not the most reliable recovery, IMO.
Why don't you try Revolver. I bet that you'd stay on that rom. Oh...and pick up the superwipe lite script from the revolution thread if you haven't already. Good to use when you are swapping roms.
If you are restoring a nandroid, it is normal because nandroid doesn't restore the kernel, so you have to install the rom you want then restore the nandroid.
If you want to use CM9, use the one in my signature. Everything is working.

Well, it supports more keyboard languages than english, so it should work.
If you want to go back to asus based rom, you must wipe, install the rom you want, boot it and then restore nandroid if you have one

What is the problem? Wifi doesn't turn on? your network doesn't show up? you can't connect to your network?
You can always try other roms and see if wifi works. but if you have a dock i recommend to use my CM9 build which has working dock battery
wifi doesn't turn on. Block on "wifi activation..."
Same problem with the Revolver 4
It works with another recovery.
Sorry for my noobness, and thank you for your help.

Hello guys
First of all, I'm new in here, so I don't know much stuff.
I recently got my transformer and wanted to check out the Android Revolution HD rom. Before flashing it, I made a backup using CWM.
I tried the rom (before installing it, yes, I did the superwipe thing) but didn't like it because the gps issues. I wanted to go back to stock and did again a superwipe and then made a restore from the backup.
When I rebooted my tablet, the configuration screen came up and started freezing and rebooting. I tried re-flashing the backup but it kept going on with the crashing and rebooting stuff.
I've been searching far and wide on how to go back to stock and I have found just the nvflash but my serial starts with B70 so I know I can't use it.
I decided to reflash Android HD Revolution because it's the only way the tablet will work, but I would love to go back to stock so I can use the gps properly.
So, Is there any way I can go back to stock? If this means something, I live in South America, so I assume I need a WW thing or whatever that means
Thanks in advance for your help
There's a flashable rooted stock ROM here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=19093950
Thank you vyer much, I had seen that thread but since it said the following:
This will not work unless you have:
1. clockworkmod
2. STOCK firmware (root is fine)
3. the US or WW firmware
4. The appropriate prerequisite firmware (e.g. the latest firmware before this update)

I thought it wouldn't work.
Would you mind helping me understand the rules for flashing this version please? Right now I'm running Android Revolution HD 2.3.0
Thanks again!
Reboot into CWM recovery
Clear data and flash ROM. You can use Titanium backup to save apps and data if you don't want to lose anything.

In my understanding that is not a (complete) ROM but just an OTA update for a stock rom. Cannot be used to replace another ROM.
That's the same thing I understood from the ROM flashing rules.
I guess there's no stock rom that I can flash? It can't be (or can it?)
http://eeepadhacks.net/transformer-hacks/how-to-unrootunbrick-eeepad-transformer/
Steps 1 - 10 will get you a stock rooted ROM.
OK this is the link that has the full ROM. CWM flash-able.

thank you all for the answers!!!
Baseballfanz, I've already tried that one, but it didn't work. Thanks though.
Neidlinger, thank you very much for pointing me in the right direction! If I ever find another GPS problem (since I haven't found one since I reflashed Android Revolution) I will use this tutorial.

Hi guys, I'm using the CM9 ICS with my transformer and I was trying to install a different kernels without any success at all. I've booted into CWM (V5) and installed from sd card but when I restart the machine, It's always with the same kernel. Can someone suggest how to make it work?
How long does the install take? That should give some insight onto what it is doing

Just to be sure, CWM v5 will not read external uSD card, only the internal storage /sdcard. May I know the kernel you are installing?
It takes about a minute to install.
I've tried a few:
TesteyMeh ICS 0.7
Blades
Others...
All of them seem to install fine but when rebooting I see the same kernel version and I cant OC.
have u tried wiping the cache and dalvik before flashing them?

A minute is way too long. Kernels only take like 3 seconds cuz they are small.
Try mount /system under mounts and storage before flashing the kernel.

Flashing a new kernel takes a few seconds. After reboot please pay attention to the blue indicator below the Android figure. It this not appears something went wrong with the first stage of the flashing process, invalid image/zip file etc.
Please use the customized CWM version, just not the flashed one from the Rom manager. I'v good experiences with the R2 (internal sdcard only) as well with the R1 (external micro-sdcard only). I preferred the R1 version.
Btw I'v have the best experiences with my TF101G with the CM9 build of March 29 combined with the quevor-test8 (just NOT from the guevor thread but ONLY from the thread of Richard because it's compiled for CM9) kernel, no reboots and no deep sleeps anymore while 3G and Wifi is working fine. Please do not wipe or clear something before flashing the new kernel to prevent Wifi problems. And I'v the best experiences not using the reboot system now from CWM but using power down and switch on the TF manually.

i too have been having trouble getting kernels to allow overclocking...i flash one, all looks ok but when i get to tablettop the kernel info appears unchanged and setcpu wont clock past 1000.
could you maybe please post links to the rom and kernel you used? im having trouble locating the Richards R1 and R2 versions. i would like to see if i can repeat your success w/ these versions.
much appreciated.
I have same issue except worse yesterday. I'm on latest CM9. I tried to flash guevro test 9 and I did wipe both cache. Using roach 2 recovery. Just stayed on Asus screen. Blue bar did pop up and take a second or so but nothing. Checked md5 and all was good.
I had to totally flash ROM again after a full wipe because even a restore from recovery wouldn't go past very first Asus screen. I'm not sure what happened but I'm definitely now worried about trying a new kernel again

Yap, I have the same problem. Nandroid restore did not restore to the previous state. For me, re-flash the ROM fixed the problem (no full-wipe).
Try Using clockwork recovery

IF my memory serves me right, with an unlocked bootloader, you can recover to a TW rom but I think its needs to either have the kernel built into it OR you need to somehow flash to a TW kernel. I say this because I think that if your kernel is still an AOSP one, then the device will not boot up.
some roms already come with a kernel for their rom so I think in most cases, with CWM 6.0.1.x, you could restore a TW nandroid.
If you want to restore a backup of a TouchWiz rom you have then just use the EZ Recovery app to flash the hybrid (CWM/Kexec) recovery...reboot to recovery and restore your nandroid. Simple process!
Once the Dev's building TW roms start using the non-kexec flashing method then you will be able to restore using the normal CWM recovery. Just like you said, you can also use ODIN to restore to stock but it's a pain because you have to root all over again. Just know you have a few options.
Ok thanks everyone!
So good

1) Rom manager is not compatible with Atrix 2. I would not use it. Why do you need it anyway??
You can use Atrix Bootstrapper to go into CWM recovery . Rest can be done there. Or you can use Boot Menu Manager.
2)Of course! it will still be there! the backup is saved on your SD Card. So as long as you don't format your SD Card. It will be there.

Rom Manager does work with Atrix2. If you're on Stock ICS, you can install CWM on every boot, then flash the Bionic recovery through Rom Manager. That will allow you to use the 1 touch backup in RM, just hit backup rom and everything does what it's supposed to.
Here is the CWM on every boot for Stock ICS.

No, your Recovery will be wiped after you flash a new rom, but you can install it again and restore your ROM.
But when restoring a rom, make sure you ARE ON THE ROM you are restoring.
E.g. If you flash JB and want Stock ICS back with your backup. First flash the Stock ICS from RSD and then restore your backup from CWM on it.
Or Vice-Versa.
@41rw4lk, Thanks for rectifying that. I did not bother with Rom Manager much.

I don't think any recovery exist after flashing a new rom. We have a locked bootloader, so we can't replace the stock recovery.img, all of our recoveries hijack the boot process to work. CM10 and PA I believe have a built in recovery, and that's about as close as you'll get to having a recovery exist after flashing a rom.
As far as restoring from JB, I believe you can downgrade to ICS, but you'll have to look at the JB thread to be certain. I'm on AT&T so I haven't had an opportunity to try JB (officially). CM10 is based on JB, but for our phone with the locked bootloader, it's more of a pseudo experience and is based on our ICS framework.
As for bricking, there is always a chance to brick, that's part of the mod game, but if you read and pay attention to what you have and what you're doing, you'll be alright.

YES. there is a big problem if you are not on a ROM you are restoring.

Yes. I will say though, if you're on an AT&T branded phone with AT&T firmware, do NOT try to flash the new JB FXZ. It doesn't matter who your carrier is, it matters what firmware your phone is using. So, if you're on AT&T then you need to make sure that the things you flash are for AT&T, or else you will brick and that will be then end of that.

MIUI (had battery issues, but I think they got it all worked out)
there's a few, you'll just have to look. Most of the time, if something is not meant for AT&T, the devs will post in the description that it isn't compatible. If you want stock ICS back at anytime, you can do yourself a favor and make a backup of your stock ICS all setup the way you like it, so you can restore if needed. If all else fails, there is an Official ICS FXZ that will get you back to stock ICS.

You're killing me smalls. You're on ICS already, you're not downgrading anything, nor can you downgrade ie. Gingerbread. There is no Official JB for AT&T, so that's not an issue. CM10 is a JB based rom built on an ICS frame, (for our phone at least), and again, you're not downgrading.
To make a back up, boot in to CWM or whatever recovery you're using (not stock), and click backup. You might hit up the noob thread to get an idea of the terminology and basics for our device. Not trying to be rude, but you're running yourself in circles. You got to walk before you can run.
Well I have been a CWM(and sometimes also TWRP) user for years. But I am stumped. I recently started having issues staying connected to AIO/Cricket(voice not even staying connected). As I am running a custom ROM I decided to try Stock and see if the problem persists, thus it may be a hardware issue with the radio or something. So I did a current backup, and restored one from a few weeks back. It's the same ROM but I thought it was worth a shot. It restored fine but the problem persisted. Then I decided to restore my new backup from the hour before. It failed. Gave me an MD5 Mismatch error(I think I have that right). So I made another new backup, same thing. I am unable to restore any backups made right now. I can still restore the one from a few weeks ago. I am running the very latest CWM touch. I tried flashing TWRP to see if that might help(using Rom Manager to do so). This has always worked before. It said that it works, and even tells me it's rebooting into TWRP when I reboot to Recovery. But the broken version of CWM is still what is loading. I am at a loss here.
your issue here is that you are using rom manager. rom manager doesnt fully work, it is broken, stop using it. you can flash a new recovery the right way, via fastboot. you can also flash twrp using the flashify app(yes, it works).

First thing I did. I was able to backup with TWRP. Since I am currently running the restore from that NANDROID from a few weeks ago, it's all good! I am restoring the TWRP i just made, just to be sure. Seems to be restoring fine though. With my NANDRIOD problem solved, I can work on getting this radio issue fixed. I am really hoping it's just ROM related and I can salve it by flashing something else. I'm going to flash STOCK and see if it persists now.

Actually one fast question, if I may. Would it be at all risky to flash the stock radio onto a custom ROM? That seems the easiest fix, if it is a fix at all. I downloaded the correct stock radio for my 820 from here:

If I just flash it over Nikxus would there be a problem?
