exchange - HTC One S

exchanging my one s for another do to hardware screen flickering issue. should i be worried about bootloader being unlocked?

No mate HTC themselves say its fine..might be worth just putting a stock rom back on just for safe measure

Back button issue NS4G

So I have a problem with back button, seems like a known issue.. this is a brand new phone, just bought today... and the back button sticks and sometimes freezes device... is this software? I'm planning on rooting and throwing a new rom on, could this fix it?

I experience this on all Roms on my Nexus S. It's not Rom related.

Thx for response bud. No wonder these phones are being sold for 23 bucks on sprint.com... the conquer cost more (how is that even economically possible? Lol)... with that being said I don't mind too much.

Infuse 4g replaced (camera cracked)

I went to AT&T store to see what they can do with my phone before I waste $200 for new one from insurance. They said to go other AT&T store where it has Device Support Centers. I was worrying becuz it was rooted and had chipped on two sides. LOL. They checked to see if my warranty was good or not. It was good til May 21. Then they were doing troubleshoot first. They had to erase and flash something from the computer and it didn't fix the problem and got me other phone at no charge.
Now I have new phone!! And is good for other 90 days warranty. I went home and rooted it again and flashed MIUI 2-3-2b stable on it. Now I want HTC Vivid. LOL

You can buy new camera replacements for way cheaper than 200 but opening your phone will void warrenty

Cool!! I look at HTC vivid development. It looks hard to root it. Infuse 4g is too easy to root.

Yes it can be but once you learn how to flash custom roms on it which involves a few more steps than the infuse it is not that hard I like my vivid but I do miss my infuse at times

Got AT&T to replace my One X

Basically my WiFi signal drops and reconnects every 5 minutes, and sometimes I lose "4G" and all bars of service completely. AT&T told me to call HTC. The guy made me apply pressure to the back of the phone under the camera, and all of a sudden, my WiFi signal was strong and stable. He said I would have to mail them my phone, so I said no way, I'm not going to be without a phone for like a week or more, so I called AT&T, told them HTC told me it was a hardware issue not a software issue, so finally, after spending 2+ hours on the phone, AT&T is sending me a replacement phone.
Thought I would share this in case there are others in a similar situation.

You had to return your old phone though, right? I would do the same but I can't be without a phone
when you get sent a new one they send you a post paid sticker to put the old phone in. You don't go without.
Sounds like someone needs to start testing for the S-Off guys

Are you saying I should test S-off on the phone I'm sending back to AT&T? I'm already worried about relocking the bootloader and flashing stock RUU before I send it back lol.

If you brick it they won't know.

Exactly what I'm saying. I'd bet they automate scripts to test so it's a one click, or get on chat and walk you through it step by step.

Oh awesome, I need to look into this then. Thanks!
I'd really look over the devices you get sent if I were you. They've sent me out 3 warranty replacements (waiting for the 4th) but I keep sending them back because they all have extremely noticeable defects. They said they will keep sending them until I get one that is in good condition. I don't have to argue with them at all. I wish I could go to a completely different phone but they won't do that.

Just call the AT&T customer service 1-800 number. Explain your issue, say you already did a factory reset, and they should offer to replace the phone.

My dilemma. To upgrade or not.

So I got a new att HTC one x last week for 9.99 from att. I love it! But now I'm liking the Lumia 920 and the x+ that's coming out this Friday for 200. I still have a week to exchange my phone...what should I do?
I already rooted and have cm10 running. And I'm happy other than battery life. But that's ok I always have a charger near by. I only like the true Google experience and hate the sense ui. But I did like my old wp7 phone. What should I do? Keep my one x or exchange it for the one x+? Our the Lumia 920?

If you rooted that means your unlocked... good luck returning that.
If you have to ask what you should do, then you shouldn't.

This. When they look at your boot loader and see tampered and unlocked/relocked they won't take it. Good job reading about what rooting and stuff would do to your warranty.

+1 for that haha.
I took my first one x back after 4 days to get the grey one. I had it unlocked and rooted and all they did was open the box, check for the charger, phone and USB cord. They do ask if you rooted the phone. I told him I didn't know what that meant, then he processed the return *your results may vary

lol I would love to work for a carrier... First thing I would do is load the bootloader up and check, but also boot the phone up just incase. Then if i see a custom rom, tempered/unlocked bootloader I'll just laugh and procede with the return/exchange.
Android to wp8 won't be a sweet transition so i would say that you go and get x+ if at all they happen to take it back !

Good job reading the actual question and contributing to the actual conversation! At any point did i ask for any advice about my rooted rom or my unlocked bootloder? I was only asking advice on the physical phones.

Completely different things. Rooted does not mean unlocked.

Have you ever taken anything back to an att store? If it's in the first 30 days all they look at is to make sure your phone is in pristine condition and they exchange it on the spot. I'm only looking for advice whether i should trade up to the one x+ or not. I guess all everyone cares about on this forum is the at&t "warranty"

Make your mind up, choose one and live with it.
I don't get these threads, how would we know what is going to work for you.
As well, there will always be something better coming out so YOU really have to know what YOU like an want and stick with it a bit.

I personally not invest any time or money in a phone OS that has a 1 to 2 % market share, such as in the base of Windows Phone (market data showing WP at just under 4% market share actually include those that are still on the old Windows Mobile platform, and have simply not updated their devices).

Galaxy Note II
I say wait till windows OS matures (maybe a generation after this one) because they don't have many important apps in their market ecosystem, currently. HTC One X is a good phone and you won't miss much except for the wireless charging plate included in the Lumia 920; uses the same processor too.
I'm deciding between the galaxy s 3 and the HTC one x atm

HTC One Mini Backing

The backing to my HTC One Mini has half fallen off. I don't remember dropping it, but I guess it is a possibility. Has anyone seen something like this or know how to fix it. I would prefer not to send it in for warranty repair, as that is a pain in the ass. I can upload some photos if anyone wants a little bit of a better idea of what I am talking about.

Also now notice a little red bleeding through on the screen... getting a little concerned probably need to get HTC on this one.
I would send it back for replacement.

Hmm, looks more like the components inside are pushing out the back than the result of a drop. This could be caused by a swelling battery, perhaps the same problem as the GS4 has been having. I'd stop using it, power down and return to HTC pronto.
