I would stay with the one that came with your phone. Radios are based on your region where your at. So the carrier gives you the radio that works best for where your located. An old saying why fix what is not broken.

trufax. In my experience and even reading of others, there is no radio that will just give you an "OMG this is awesome" experience. And even havign the same phone and in the same house can have different experiences with different radios.

Network Operators Scan Don't Show T-Mobile on List...

I have a question... The picture below, shows an Unlocked HTC Sensation 4G from T-Mobile on the left side, and on the right an Unlocked HTC Inspire 4G from AT&T... my question is... why is the Inspire (right) unable to show T-Mobile as an option of network operator? thank you!
Also, just in case... I can use the T-Mobile sim card on the Inspire, and the AT&T sim card on the Sensation with no issues... remember, they are both unlocked...
Sensation -> Stock ROM
Inspire -> Android Revolution HD ROM (from mike1986) with Radio_12.54.60.25_26.09.04.11_M2
If you scan in your Inspire, do you see T-Mobile?
My Inspire shows both AT&T and T-Mobile.

Any idea why I don't see T-Mobile in my scan? But I can use T-Mobile with the sim card... Strange...

so im guessing that it works like for calls and such if so then what does it matter, if you flash an AOSP rom it should have the option though, if you have a stock or improved stock rom then it will not have t-mobile in it

My stock sensation shows all networks... The inspire with custom rom does not... When I go to europe or anywhere... that means the inspire will not show all available options, and that's not good... So nobody knows why?

probably because att doesnt want you roaming on Tmobile us's network, or it might just use it as the ATT network by default if they have some sort of roaming agreement? just postulating here but in europe you should be able to see all networks
Anybody else can do a scan with HTC Inspire? Just to see results... Thanks!

Radio question?

This may be a dumb question. Things seem to be a little different than when I was on the hero and incredible, but if I'm running a gingerbread rom (coreddroid) will it be alright to flash the newest att radio, since I believe its froyo based?
Sent from my Inspire 4g baby
The radios work with Froyo and GB. I don't believe they are OS dependent.

Every single is great. You go the pop up SMS. You got themes. You got smoothness. You go no sense. You got opinion of launcher. And the world is open for more.

They're all different better and unique. And this thread will be locked, soon.

4G icon

I noticed that the roms and themes being built have 3G icon in there screenshots. If you have a T-Mobile HTC Sensation, will it say 4G or 3G? I'm assuming 3G. Is there away to change that?
Depends on rom. Mine says H (insertcoin).
Sent from my Dell Streak 7
It depends on your ROM. Cyanogenmod differentiates between 3g, hspa and hspa+ (what tmobile calls 4g). I assume that when the ROM makers start really developing, there will be an easy way to tell.
As for the screenshots, maybe the dev only lives in a 3g area.
Sent from my HTC Sensation 4G using XDA Premium App
i stiil have stock rom and it always show 4g
The sensation does not have a 3g logo. Even when its on hspa it says 4g which kinda sucks. I bet roms will be able to show all icons

I believe the European version does.
I'm wondering if it's as easy as swapping out the file that the icons are in, like it was on WM.
I actually like seeing 4G all the time. Helps my IPhone superiority complex a bit. LOL
Sent from my HTC Sensation 4G using XDA App
I would normally see H hahah. I don't get these devs making sense roms when the stock phone is sense...
I am in the same situation. Since I have a custom rom i have 3G icon. Before with my rom operator Bell Canada had H+ icon. Can someone explain to me??
yes most say "H" if you are in a 4g area
Luckily its really simple to change it to 4G if you wish, I as well as others have uploaded the modified file
destructionb : where? and how
Here's one grabbed from another thread.
adb push SystemUI.apk /system/app
Reboot and you will have the 4G icon back.
I'm using coredroid and mine say 4g.
Sent from my HTC Sensation Z710e using XDA Premium App
Im not rooted but the other day my 4 disappeared and it only said "G". I was like WTF, restarted the phone and it fixed it.
I'm used to the H from CyanogenMod since that's what the signal actually is...
I'm on Bell using CoreDroid and as far as I can tell it only goes up to H now instead of H+ like it did when it was stock.

ROMs/kernels have nothing to do with download/upload speeds. its all about the radio
So how do you go about choosing the radio?what factors do you go off of?and do you just flash a different radio on your phone like a Rom or kernel? Is there a web link that list all the different radios? If you would point me in the right direction I would appreciate it.

It depends on your carrier, the signal strength & the Radio that you're using.
There, I've answered another completely pointless question that was one search away.
As for radios, you'll need to experiment.

Apparently OP has a Sensation, GS2 and HD7 according to his post history. I'm doubtful if this is truly the case. Or I'm just overly cynical.
I also have a amaze,HTC s one and a G s 3.
