4G icon

I noticed that the roms and themes being built have 3G icon in there screenshots. If you have a T-Mobile HTC Sensation, will it say 4G or 3G? I'm assuming 3G. Is there away to change that?

Depends on rom. Mine says H (insertcoin).

It depends on your ROM. Cyanogenmod differentiates between 3g, hspa and hspa+ (what tmobile calls 4g). I assume that when the ROM makers start really developing, there will be an easy way to tell.
As for the screenshots, maybe the dev only lives in a 3g area.

i stiil have stock rom and it always show 4g

The sensation does not have a 3g logo. Even when its on hspa it says 4g which kinda sucks. I bet roms will be able to show all icons

I believe the European version does.

I'm wondering if it's as easy as swapping out the file that the icons are in, like it was on WM.

I actually like seeing 4G all the time. Helps my IPhone superiority complex a bit. LOL

I would normally see H hahah. I don't get these devs making sense roms when the stock phone is sense...

I am in the same situation. Since I have a custom rom i have 3G icon. Before with my rom operator Bell Canada had H+ icon.Can someone explain to me??

yes most say "H" if you are in a 4g area
Luckily its really simple to change it to 4G if you wish, I as well as others have uploaded the modified file

Here's one grabbed from another thread.
adb push SystemUI.apk /system/app
Reboot and you will have the 4G icon back.

I'm using coredroid and mine say 4g.

Im not rooted but the other day my 4 disappeared and it only said "G". I was like WTF, restarted the phone and it fixed it.

I'm used to the H from CyanogenMod since that's what the signal actually is...

I'm on Bell using CoreDroid and as far as I can tell it only goes up to H now instead of H+ like it did when it was stock.

What carrier can I take my sensation to?

I've been with TMO US for a long time now and want to change. I'm on a month to month plan and paid for my sensation out of pocket and don't want to have to buy another phone out of pocket again.
So, I do I have any options? Or is is the sensation TMO US only?

If you unlock the sim you can go to AT&T, but you won't get 4G I don't think. Read up on the HTC website about the phone and the frequencies it uses, then Google the frequencies that AT&T uses. That will be your best source of info as I am at work and can't look it up and give you links.

Yeah...only plausible option is probably,ATT, but you'll only get Edge speeds...I'd stick with TMO.

You can use simple mobile, they buy from tmobile.

I noticed on mine there is an option somewhere to change networks to att. It said it wasn't registered. Then I clicked back on tmo and it was fine. Don't know if it helps. You never know.

[Q] [HELP] HTC sensation 4g went down to 3g?!

After i flashed android revolution yesterday, my phone went down to 3g speeds it even says so when it downloads, did i do somethign wrong? And im with virgin not tmobile

Does it ever show "H"? The Sensation 4G icons are misleading... When you run regular Sensation ROMs you actually see what you're really connected to.

My stock 4G rom never showed 3G. It would throttle down to 2G and back to 4G...
Many of T-Mo's original "4G" phones actually showed "H" for HSPA+, but I think too many people didn't understand that.
Any time your new ROM shows "H" then you know it's running HSPA+ (4G).

my phone is from virgin.... i never noticed "H" and a 3g untill in flashed arhd yesterday

4g = h. Also, T-Mobile roms lied, and utms is also showed as 4g. There was no 3g step.
Even with h, you WILL get tmobile's 4g speed, provided the tower supports it, same as before just a different icon.

OK I am going to guess here bro our rooms are for GSM your on cdma and they may work but our devs have not tested them so u may have to try a few best you can do I email the dev and ask them in there post but your coming here from virgin were running on tmoble
But hey do me a fav post specs of phone can it do GSM and cdma simcard? Still need to read up on it but good luck

If you have a cdma phone, you CANNOT use it on GSM. This includes even if the phone has a sim for lte, it just won't work.

No Cell Connection or Data!!!

Woke up this morning and had no service and data connection. I've tried all of the following none of which worked:
Rebooting phone
Tried fixing permissions and wiping cache and dalvik
Tried reseating the SIM card
Got T-Mo to swap SIM card
Wiped device and re-flashed ROM
I'm running ARHD 6.3.3 XE with Faux 005. Have also tried Virtuous Inquisition 4.0.2 beta1 with the same issue. I have the latest radio and firmware required for ICS and ARHD. I have been running the ROM problem free for weeks and this just happened out of nowhere. When I open my phone it immediately brings me to the Network Operators screen and I see T-Mobile and AT&T. I tap T-Mobile and then I get the error:
"Your SIM card does now allow a connection to this network."
Can someone please help me!! I'm getting desperate here! Haven't had service all day and I need my phone for work email on the go etc.! I really need this fixed ASAP!!

No suggestions huh? Been without a phone for almost a day this is terrible!!! IT'S THE END OF THE WORLD!!!! But seriously please anyone, I'm desperate for help here. Thanks!

If black listed nothing you can try calling tmob but most likely your done if black listed or att till 2014 when all stolen phones banned

Go get a Simple Mobile SIM.if it's blocked on T Mous. You may want to check your IMEI number is there, I have had it happen where mine has just disappeared and a reboot fixed it. Which model Sensation did you buy? Is it T Mous branded? Simple Mobile uses T Mous towers and it's $45 unlimited everything, no hidden fees.

That would be a waste of time since it used tmobs towers, if its blacklisted on T-Mobile it won't work on simplemobile. If its blacklisted there really isn't much you can do, how long ago did you buy it?

Wanna share that link? and its doubtful, T-Mobile wouldn't unlock a blacklisted phone, because technically its not your property.
Buying off cl and eBay is sketchy now a days, a would be seller can sell off their phone, use a dif phone for 2 weeks then report the phone they sold stolen and use an insurance claim to get a new one. That would be smart except the unexpecting buyer loses service and ends up with a WiFi only device

did you try to hard reset by holding~~ Power+Vol.up+Vol.down ~~ I had similar problem and the hard reset worked for me.

I bought my phone new on eBay, I called T-Mobile to check blacklist status and I was asked if I wanted to unlock, didn't bother cause I plan on staying on tmob prepaid but Att might be a better choice, do you know if the sensation gets Att hspa+?
Edit: just saw a guide to unlocking on here so it shouldn't be a problem

Unlocked One S - No service. AT&T SIM works but T-Mobile SIM doesn't?

I have a unlocked T-Mobile HTC One S that I'm using on AT&T SIM and it works perfectly but T-Mobile SIM doesn't work (No service). It gets service for 2-5 seconds then no service. The weird thing is that this is a T-Mobile phone so isn't it suppose to work?

I'll give them a call. I got this phone off craigslist but I didn't test it on T-Mobile because I'm on AT&T. How does it get blacklisted?

If the original owner purchased it on a contract and then stopped paying. Or, they reported it lost or stolen.

Your only real option is to use it on a network other than T-Mobile. The only person who could possibly fix it is the original owner who had it blacklisted.

I have a One S I bought new but I am wanting to switch to ATT because I cant get a signal at work on T-Mobile.
Question: Are you getting 4G on ATT with the unlocked One S ?

It will get AT&T 4G(note, not LTE). The One S supports 850/1700/1900/2100 for 4G. You must get it unlocked of course. I purchased an instant unlock code on eBay for $6.
