titanium backup keeps crashing - Eee Pad Transformer Themes and Apps

currently on the newest stock rom and rooted, and i seem to be unable to run ti backup. it crashes immediately after launch. the only fix i've seen is to clear google play's cache/data and it didn't seem to work for me.

Awhile back there was an issue which could be fixed by uninstalling then reinstalling the Pro key. Perhaps that will fix your issue.
Sent from my Transformer TF101 using Xparent Purple Tapatalk 2

thanks, but sadly, still crashing.
_________
i checked out the authors website. to inquiring minds, there was folder in my sd card called data/com.keramidas.TitaniumBackup which i deleted as per the website's instructions. that seems to have done the trick.

And if it says no root access while trying to install the newer version of busybox via the app, just try it again. I had the freezing problem while doing batch ops in addition to issues with gesturecontrol so i decided to update the busybox binary, failed the first time but when i tried it again the install went through.

why is it that my apps do not appear in titanium backup?

won't appear so cannot back them up.
updated superuser and already clicked 'problems' button which prompted busybox download.

[Q] Deleted Google Play

Hey there. I have been trying to resolve the "Package File Invalid", so one of the things i read here on xda said uninstall updates for the android market. I did this, and it installed Google Play completely. I tried flashing a package with the google play market version 3.4.6, but it force closes as soon as I open it. Can anyone help me? :3
I'm not sure if applicable in your circumstance but whenever I start having issues with force closes I reboot into CWM and clear my cache & Dalvik (under advanced) then "goback" & check reset permissions & reboot PHONE .....NOT Reboot Recovery. So far, it's worked like a champ every time for me.
When does it say "Package File Invalid" ?
may Reboot Recovery
It said Package File Invalid when I was downloading Draw Something Free. But thats not the point, I deleted Google Play off my phone and need to know how to get it back.
The point is that the invalid signature error usually comes from either having a broken/warezed/older version already installed, or the download corrupting.
So the signature from the update/download doesn't match what is already installed or has just been downloaded.
Your problem now is that you probably just removed the market but not the other apps it depends on on.
So either restore exactly the market version you removed or flash a new version plus the matching versions of its dependencies.
I've tried flashing both version 3.4.7 and 3.4.6, and they both force close as soon as I open them. Can you show me how to make it work, or tell me how to get it from stop force closing?
I would suggest a nandroid backup and a complete factory reset.. chuck on a custom (up to date (ics) rom) while your at it

Thats the exact reason I haven't yet. I have installed a custom rom and stuff already
I too am having the issue with all apps after 260 apps installed. I noticed that when I uninstall one app I can install a app that had said "package file invalid" two minutes earlier. Its weird.
Sent from my SPH-D710 using Tapatalk
I have had this problem before, the cause for me was that I was using g a DNS changer. Uninstalled it and that fixed it for me.
Sent from my XOOM using Tapatalk
I don't have a DNS changer installed. I'm using MIJJZ Blend 2.3 and everthing before 260 installed fine, but now I have to uninstall a app to install a app.
Sent from my SPH-D710 using Tapatalk
Then the only other thing I can think of is clearing data/cache as per http://www.thespicygadgematics.com/2011/12/fix-android-package-file-is-invalid.html
Sent from my XOOM using Tapatalk
I had tried that before. I've been bouncing between Darkstar 1.0.2 and Blend 2.*. I have experienced this issue on all Blend builds and never had the issue on Darkstar. Its weird the first time I had the "package file is invalid" error I was reinstalling my backedup apps. It happened ony on 3 apps(gosms, titanium backup, bunny shooter) and everything else installed fine. 2nd time gosms and titanium backup installed fine, but other apps wouldn't install. The funny thing about it is one of the first apps had the error, but I still installed 30+ apps after that. I've wied and reinstalled Blend 2.3 3 times and this last time I got every app reinstalled and even a few more before the error. I uninstalled one app and installed one app that had previously failed. So I tried uninstalling 3 big apps(angry birds trilligy) and still can't install a 588 kb app. I can't install a single app now. Debating on flashing stock kernel, but really don't want to loose cwm.

[Q] Unknown error -110

Hello all,
I recently installed Thunderstick Full Blown (wiped everything clean, cleared dalvik, etc.), and now no matter what I do, when I install an app I get an 'unknown error: -110' and the app won't install. Occasionally if I'm lucky, and application will install.
I tried installing titanium backup a couple of times, then it finally worked. Then I went to restore my applications from titanium backup and it constantly force closes.
I tried fixing permissions in recovery, but that didn't work. This makes it incredibly hard to get my phone back to normal is 9 times out of 10 an app won't install.
Any ideas on ways I can get this sucker fixed?
If it is unknowen, then by the very defination how do they know its an error?
Jellybean now.... Rise to the issue Google.

REPORTED!
If the play store is themed or modded in any way you might get errors like these.
Sent from my ADR6400L using Tapatalk 2
Totally odd. Did a clean wipe/ROM re-install, then cleared market cache before opening it. Now it looks like it's all working. But it didn't update to Google Play - seems like when it updates to Google Play, it throws the error. But I'll keep you updated .
Don't have any market modifications, but perhaps the ROM does.
The new play store doesn't work properly if it is themed or modded in any way. Its something google did i guess to prevent it from being hacked.

Google Play Store "No Connection"

So I have a rooted GS3 running stock 4.1.2 and I flashed one of those inverted Google play store apps using twrp. Then when I rebooted my device for another reason and went into the play store, it said no connection even though my WiFi and 4g are both fine. I uninstalled all updates to the app, but then the play store would crash even when running in the background. So I found the latest version of the play store I could online, which was 4.0.2.5 which isn't the most recent. But now I still have the same no connection problem. Any solutions? I've also tried clearing data and cache from the app

This happened to me to me once, I fixed it by restoring a backup. I couldn't really figure out what was causing it. I know I messed it up by clearing data on system framework. But I have no idea how that messed it up.
You could just flash a custom rom and that will fix the issue. The problem is that the playstore is being updated constantly. Any Inverted playstore I have running ends up getting automatically updated to the most recent release anyways, so I just kind of gave up theming it. You probably installed an old version of playstore. The playstore must have some automatic connection protocol that enables it to automatically update without permission, and an old playstore might not allow that connection.
You might just be able to completely delete the playstore from your phone to install a recent one, but I have no idea if that would work. Someone has to know how to fix this without a restore or flashing a new rom.

So pretty much I should just do a Titanium Backup for all my apps except the Play Store, install the custom ROM, then restore the data for all my apps and hope the Play Store works?

That will work for sure, just have to find a custom rom you like. Your play store won't restore even if it's backed up through titanium. It's a good idea to have titanium anyway.
Never restore system data, only restore user apps + data. That's known to cause problems after a restore.

Are you new to flashing roms? Just make sure you do all the proper steps first.
Nandroid and unlock bootloader first.
factory reset, wipe cache and Dalvik cache, format system, then flash rom.
Follow the instructions on the roms page and you're good to go.

I'm now at the point where Google Drive and Google+ keep crashing too. I'm realizing this is a problem with all the google apps, so what would happen if I just flashed a gapps zip file for 4.1.2 via TWRP? would that work since this seems to be a problem within all the apps by google? im running the latest ota, the MD3 build.

That is very strange, give it a shot, flashing a gapps package might work. I do think it's a problem with the Google apps though, so your play store is working right? I think all you need now is let the play store auto update. Maybe there's a way to force it. That should allow the rest of your apps to work.

so if anybody having this problem again
i get mine fixed by doing this :
1. Open any file explorer that have root access
2. Search for a folder named "system" and then look for a folder that says "etc"
3. Inside "etc" folder search for a file that says "host" . edit that text using any text editor
4. Delete everything in the host file
5. Save
I ended up fixing it by flashing another rom, using titanium backup to copy the play store. and then reflashed back to the original rom I was using and then restored with copy of the play store i previously had.

The host file is read-only, I can't modify it.
I too have the same issue and cannot edit the file due to read-only permissions.

Error when downloading apps previously installed

I'm having a problem on my rooted cromix rommed transformer. Every time I try to reinstall an app that I have deleted, I get an error (-24) saying it can't download the app from the play store. I've done some Google research and exhausted all suggestions: clear cache, and such from the play store, delete the app .com data, unmount the sd card and even flashed the latest cromix 5.0.4 Rom again wiping cache and dalvik. Any suggestions?

Error 24 means that it is leaving remnants of the app in the /data/data/ folder.
Either you have used cache2sd and it is locking those folders.
If so in a terminal unmount cache2sd by running the command:
cache2sd -u
delete the offending /data/data/com.* entries and try again
you can reenable cache2sd by running
cache2sd -m
You can also do this by using the file explorer in TWRP
I had a feeling cache2sd had something to do with it. I'll go to twrp and delete the files. Thanks!

Ok so I may be doing something wrong, but I cannot any .com files for these apps. I've deleted everything associated with the apps that I can find, and have done a search for the app names in a file manager. Still, I am getting the same error. I 're flashed the Rom and didn't select cache2sd, still no luck.

Which file manager? You must do it from one that is root capable like root explorer or es file explorer. Go all the way up to do then /data/data and you will see a chrome folder. Delete it.
Best to do it in TWRP file explorer under advanced if you are unsure.
I was only using the default asus file explorer and for some real thought it had root access. Went with a root file explorer and it appears to be working. Thanks!
