Hello all,
I recently installed Thunderstick Full Blown (wiped everything clean, cleared dalvik, etc.), and now no matter what I do, when I install an app I get an 'unknown error: -110' and the app won't install. Occasionally if I'm lucky, and application will install.
I tried installing titanium backup a couple of times, then it finally worked. Then I went to restore my applications from titanium backup and it constantly force closes.
I tried fixing permissions in recovery, but that didn't work. This makes it incredibly hard to get my phone back to normal is 9 times out of 10 an app won't install.
Any ideas on ways I can get this sucker fixed?
If it is unknowen, then by the very defination how do they know its an error?
Jellybean now.... Rise to the issue Google.

REPORTED!
If the play store is themed or modded in any way you might get errors like these.

Totally odd. Did a clean wipe/ROM re-install, then cleared market cache before opening it. Now it looks like it's all working. But it didn't update to Google Play - seems like when it updates to Google Play, it throws the error. But I'll keep you updated .
Don't have any market modifications, but perhaps the ROM does.
The new play store doesn't work properly if it is themed or modded in any way. Its something google did i guess to prevent it from being hacked.

I had 3 apps that needed updating so I clicked update all. 1 app updated then I got a force closed, now the other 2 won't install and no matter what I try, it's stuck on installing. I tried clearing Market data and cache, I even uninstalled the 2 apps under manage applications.
Is there a way to reinstall Market, or reset it? I'm running nfinites stock .7 ROM.

This is a google problem, it's happening to CM users as well Nothing to really do but wait until google fixes their servers

I had the same problem. What you do is go Menu>Settings>Applications>Mangage Applications. Select the tab for all. Go to Market. Clear data and Clear cache. It will get rid of the persistent download that is causing market FC
Found a work around. Had to unmount the SD card, search the Market for the apps I needed to update, download and install, remount the SD card then move the updated apps to the SD card. Pain in the ass but it works.

Thanks a lot, i did this and it worked
* I only cleared the data (the cache was disabled)
for some reason the last 3 apps i've installed all FC on me. at least 2 were from the market. prior to this i've installed a ton of apps from the market and TB.
open maps, movies, yelp.
i managed to install yelp after i uninstalled movies. not sure why that mattered. i actually got the FC message but then it went away. movies still didn't install correctly. i've completely removed open maps.
i've heard fixing permissions in cwr can work but i've screwed up my phone on a prior rom doing that so i'm really weary of using it. also, why would i need to fix permissions if it's a new install?
Update: fixing permissions did nothing. Does clearing dalvik do anything?

Clear cache and dalvik and try again. If you still have problems, then reflash your ROM on top of your existing ROM without wiping anything. If you still have problems after doing this, then backup your apps/app data with Titanium and then do a full wipe (system, data, cache; everything). Then reinstall your ROM, then install Titanium and restore your apps (do not restore system settings; only restore apps and app data).
Sorry didn't finish reading it but do what Henry said

Nope. I just flashed a different ROM which didn't have these issues.

That works too.
Hey there. I have been trying to resolve the "Package File Invalid", so one of the things i read here on xda said uninstall updates for the android market. I did this, and it installed Google Play completely. I tried flashing a package with the google play market version 3.4.6, but it force closes as soon as I open it. Can anyone help me? :3
I'm not sure if applicable in your circumstance but whenever I start having issues with force closes I reboot into CWM and clear my cache & Dalvik (under advanced) then "goback" & check reset permissions & reboot PHONE .....NOT Reboot Recovery. So far, it's worked like a champ every time for me.
When does it say "Package File Invalid" ?
may Reboot Recovery
It said Package File Invalid when I was downloading Draw Something Free. But thats not the point, I deleted Google Play off my phone and need to know how to get it back.
The point is that the invalid signature error usually comes from either having a broken/warezed/older version already installed, or the download corrupting.
So the signature from the update/download doesn't match what is already installed or has just been downloaded.
Your problem now is that you probably just removed the market but not the other apps it depends on on.
So either restore exactly the market version you removed or flash a new version plus the matching versions of its dependencies.
I've tried flashing both version 3.4.7 and 3.4.6, and they both force close as soon as I open them. Can you show me how to make it work, or tell me how to get it from stop force closing?
I would suggest a nandroid backup and a complete factory reset.. chuck on a custom (up to date (ics) rom) while your at it

Thats the exact reason I haven't yet. I have installed a custom rom and stuff already
I too am having the issue with all apps after 260 apps installed. I noticed that when I uninstall one app I can install a app that had said "package file invalid" two minutes earlier. Its weird.

I have had this problem before, the cause for me was that I was using g a DNS changer. Uninstalled it and that fixed it for me.
Sent from my XOOM using Tapatalk
I don't have a DNS changer installed. I'm using MIJJZ Blend 2.3 and everthing before 260 installed fine, but now I have to uninstall a app to install a app.
Sent from my SPH-D710 using Tapatalk
Then the only other thing I can think of is clearing data/cache as per http://www.thespicygadgematics.com/2011/12/fix-android-package-file-is-invalid.html
Sent from my XOOM using Tapatalk
I had tried that before. I've been bouncing between Darkstar 1.0.2 and Blend 2.*. I have experienced this issue on all Blend builds and never had the issue on Darkstar. Its weird the first time I had the "package file is invalid" error I was reinstalling my backedup apps. It happened ony on 3 apps(gosms, titanium backup, bunny shooter) and everything else installed fine. 2nd time gosms and titanium backup installed fine, but other apps wouldn't install. The funny thing about it is one of the first apps had the error, but I still installed 30+ apps after that. I've wied and reinstalled Blend 2.3 3 times and this last time I got every app reinstalled and even a few more before the error. I uninstalled one app and installed one app that had previously failed. So I tried uninstalling 3 big apps(angry birds trilligy) and still can't install a 588 kb app. I can't install a single app now. Debating on flashing stock kernel, but really don't want to loose cwm.

I rooted my phone to CM7 a few days ago and ever since the market changed to google play i have to download the apk files for apps off of the interwebs. i wanted to install the market but every time it opens i get an error message saying it force closed. tried all the remedies including reflashing CM7, re installing the market, clearing all data and cache, etc. I finally downloaded Google Services Framework, and it loaded all the way up to where i could add my google account and accept terms and services, but now it's right back to force closing on me. Help?

Yesterday I updated my ROM, radio and rpm to the BLK3 release of cleanrom lite... love it.
Anyway, in the play store it shows all of my google programs and, curiously, SU program as uninstalled... even though they are there.
Also shows play services as uninstalled.
When I installed the rom i selected backup to google but not restore (as I have done many times)
anyway... ideas on how to fix... it's been 24 hours so it didnt resolve itself

First step is to clear data for "Play Store." If it's still present after that, reflash the rom and see if it's resolved.

ok, cleared data and cache for both play store and play services... rebooted to recovey and wiped cache partition... same situation
any other thoughts... i dont want to reinstall if poss
And did you reflash the rom without wiping?
Sent from my SCH-I535 using xda app-developers app
I had wiped/cleared cahce dalvik bat stats...
ok, so i just reinstalled rom (after clearing above again)
in google play now the only thing shoing as installed is play services
should be at least gmail search etc
help... i love my rom
This may sound like overkill but uninstall each app then reinstall them from the market. I checked out the thread and as of yet, nobody has reported any issues akin to yours.
As for SU, I'd suggest installing SuperSU, granting it root and then uninstalling SU. That should work itself out if my line of thinking is correct.
Sent from my SCH-I535 using xda app-developers app
OK, here's where I'm at now...
reinstall ROM and no other apps from play store
when i go to play store online it shows one app installed... google play services
the problem is that when i attempt to download any of the apps on the rom already... gmail, youtube, su etc...
it says already on phone (on the s3 itself)
so it never recognizes that these eight? apps are installed
curiously... it says i downloaded play services... which i did not
i would hate to have to go to another rom but i'm lost at this point... my concern is that i will never be able to update these essential apps if i just let it go
Idk what to say besides redownloading and checking the md5 before flash then doing a full wipe. I just temporarily downloaded/installed CleanRom LE and I have just gmail, google search, maps, voice search, and YouTube installed according to the Play Store. I have a total of 27 apps in my app drawer and I deselected everything for Backup/Restore in Settings/Backup and Reset
Edit: I wiped both Factory reset and System (full wipe) and it worked for me just now. I'm reading that simply reflashing didn't help. You might want to do a full wipe this time.
