This will come up eventually I'm sure so ill get it out of the way.
Anyone have any reboots on this leaked gingerbread build?
So far so good although I haven't on the stock 2.2 although I know many have.
I also know as of this moment its probably too early but lets use this when and if the issue arises.(hopefully not).
P.s. This leaked rom is working really good for me.. I love this damn phone....
Well call me confused..
Never had a reboot on 2.2. Already on this gingerbread build the damn thing rebooted to the g2x screen...
No issues on stock 2.2 in weeks yet within hours on this build I got one. Damn
Edit:looks like my reboot was caused by holding power too long.... All is well now
I have had 3 reboots today on 2.2 have not seen the leak yet! I also also tried the Launch PRO and I love it!!!! Had reboots before I install Launch PRO and after.

This is my third G2x and have had it for 9 days. NO reboots, no screen freezes etc. Flashed the GB update zip and shortly thereafter I had a screen freeze and now my GPS, which was really quite good, is now locking on all the birds it sees but it is up to 27 miles off,Yes 27 miles and it just vacillates and jumps around wildly. I have not added any apps etc. I am hoping it is something in the atmosphere causing the wild swings in accuracy. I know grasping at straws.lol After my first screen freeze I flashed Pauls dexopt fix, so will what happens, if anything.

I'm hoping it was a fluke thing I did... all my other phones I.e. vibrant, nexus 1 have rebooted due to weird thing's maybe this was just that... since earlier its been great... maybe just worked itself out ass they need to sometimes ..
I have my first reboot 15mn after installing Gingerbread. I didn't have any reboot with eaglesblood but automatic shut downs either plugged in or not causing the alarm clock not to ring. I had tons of reboots and shut downs with stock. We'll see tonight if there's shut downs when plugged in with Gingerbread. I'm pretty sure now it's the phone, not the OS or any software
Where can I download Gingerbread and how do I get it on my phone? What does the Gingerbread do for phone?
Reboots seem to be caused by 3rd party apps that use GPS. Since I've uninstalled Speedtest I've had no reboot issues at all. Before my phone was rebooting or freezing every 20 minutes.

Just had 2 shut downs last night, lucky I saw it and turned it back on. This morning while talking on the phone with tmobile to order another g2x, I couldn't hang up the phone cuz the screen won't turn on, so they have to hang up by the other end. That happened before in stock ROM too. This is gingerbread. This could be my phone only that does this, but I'm really disappointed of LG

same here, oh well flashing eaglesblood1.03
Yea there is something funky with the leaked gb rom. I don't have reboots on any other roms. It is solely rebooting only on gb.
I recommend the latest Cm7 #9. Just flashed it and network seems normal now. I've tried other GB roms and CM7 is the best so far.
I really liked the leaked build minus the constant reboots (powered off).

I'm just so effin fustrated cause this crap is getting old. ALL I WANT IS A PHONE THAT DOES WHAT IS SAYS! Stock was crap, so I rooted. Now the Roms I've tried are way above what stock was. I'm gratefull to all the Devs that make this all possible. I'm in no way upset with all their hard work. They've worked hard to improve the crappy stock ROMs. Here's a list of my probs...and this is common with ALL ROMS, stock, custom, bloated, debloated, odexed, deodexed, w/ voodoo, w/out voodoo. most of my probs are with the net.
4g freezes...I get constant hiccups when I need the net the most. I just want it to work all the time..jebus!
HotSpot freezes...this is caused by the problem above. Now I pay for hot spot and use the App, and since rooted I use WiFi tether. Still same prob. My PC loads pages fast and DL quickly, then all of a sudden...nothing. I have to cycle Airplane mode. This is just getting old already...just work like it does in the damn commercials!
SiriusXM....I love listening to it. I listen in the car, but when I have a 4G hicupp, music is gone...cycle airplane mode...or restart cause the App gets frozen as well. The app works by DL about 5 mins of airplay at a time...I get stops and freezes when it does that too.
Madden 12 not smooth...why have a game compatable with a phone that doesn't work properly? BS...
Same with Skype...never works like it should.
I just want my phone, apps, and internet to work when I need it. IS that too much to ask? I can never catch a break. Right now I'm on HumbleComb 4.0. So far this is the best ROM I've had. Still have same probs, but they happen fewer than with other ROMS...
I never tired Darkcharge cause it didn't have the toolbox. Now that it does I might try it. Should I? Or should I wait for the new 2.3.5 that P3 has been saying is the best Stock ROM beating out MotoBionic, and HTC Tbolt?
Anyone else have all these issues? Am I too picky? Just wanted to vent my frustration and see if other experience the same.
Check your PM.
sucks to hear you're having these problems but a lot of them are hardware/software related an not fixable as of yet, there is a huge issue with data connectivity on the Charge which seems to be the huge deal and the GB leaks are full of bugs (and not officially supported yet which is why there's problems with apps/games on GB)... the only thing I could suggest is Imnuts Infinity rom, I had maybe 1 little issue the whole time I ran it which I unfortunately can't say about the other roms
blazing through on my 4G Droid Charge
The best luck I've had is with the ep1w leak that I manually de-bloated, and zipalign using the ron toolbox. Also installed immuts repacked 2.3.5 voodoo kernal. Runs smooth. I can't remember my last force close or restart since I've been on this set up. Also using launcher pro plus

Thanks for the replys...I will try what has been suggested... still I hope when we finally get an official update(2.3.5)...and the ROMs that follow that..
Hello, I've been running xboarder56's rooted GB OTA (not the tweaked one) for about 2 months now with almost no problems. However, my phone slows down and starts getting laggy to the point of being unusable after a day or two, and the frequency seems to be increasing. I don't run many background services. Only rebooting fixes the problem temporarily. I'll try to load a webpage on either opera mobile or the stock browser while listening to music and the music starts skipping and popping while the page loads slower than usual, but after rebooting it's fast again with no skipping.
I've been searching the forums and Google and seen a few others with this problem but can't find a fix for it. I've tried clearing the Dalvik cache (with NVflashed CWM) but it didn't seem to help any. Is this a common problem with LG-based Gingerbread ROMs, and does anyone else here still have this problem? I started having this problem after running my last ROM, CM7 RC1 after a month, and when I switched to my current ROM I did do a full wipe/factory reset. I'm thinking about trying the new-ish CM7.1.0.1 stable ROM or Weapon G2x and am wondering if those have this problem as well. Any suggestions? Thanks for your time!
I have honestly had that problem with every most roms I've tried at some point. Maybe not instantly, but it will eventually start to slow down like you described in which i have to reboot.
Dang. Do you think a fix actually exists for this, or does everyone have this problem? It's strange since I can't find much discussion about this.
It sounds like you have an app gobbling up memory and not releasing it. All Android phones such be rebooted around once a week to keep things nice and tidy.

That's the issue I have with any 2.3.3 builds. But with 2.3.4 straight for 2 days now, hasn't experienced this issue yet. Unlike 2.3.3 that even within a day, it needs a reboot. I think there is a problem with LG's memory management.

If I flash CM7.1.0.1 stable, will ClockWorkMod 3.0.2.7 that I flashed for the CM7 RC suffice? Or do I need to update that too before flashing? Sorry to drag the thread along.

It should work fine flashing any zip, but the 5.0.2.0 version of CWM is far better. Flashing it with the One Click tool is a no brainer. Go ahead and update it. It will only take you a few minutes of your time.

Do you have any evidence to support that? From what i've read android is made to run better when more memory is used.

I never had to reboot my Nexus One, or even my T-mobile G1.
I've tried just about every rom for the g2x since i got it about a month ago and they are slow down. I'm not on the 2.3.4 rom and it started out great; now its almost unusable.
Anyone know whats wrong?? i'm about to call t-mobile and try to get another phone. I don't understand how they can release phones that just don't work. How can my single core 1ghz Nexus one be faster then this dual core 1ghz phone?
i'm just on stock and i have to reboot my phone every single day or else it's not useable. i have like zero apps on my phone almost so i know that can't be the problem, it's ridiculous

Good to know it isn't only me. I'm trying some more tests on my phone to see whats going on. I think i'm gonna call tmo soon and see what they say.
i'm sure they won't have a good reply for you but definitely share with us if they do! i understand having to reboot the phone like once every three days or so but every single day is totally unacceptable

Did anything ever come from this? I'm completely stock, just got this phone the other day. This phone lags harder then my HD2 I just had, which I would have kept if the digitizer didn't go out.
Are you guys on stock? If so then i highly recommend going custom. LG can't code for crap, so lots of stuff that was wrong with this phone has been fixed in the recent custom roms/kernels.
I've had the same issue until i recently switched to Phoenix Blood rom. I recommend it if you want to forget when was the last time you rebooted and still use the phone buttery smooth. I am using Faux kernel and the ROM is rock solid for me. Recently ran and the V6 script(instructions are on the rom's page in development section) with it and now it's even better! Give it a try you would love it;-)

Yeah get on a ROM without any LG coding or framework. If you guys prefer a more stock 2.3.3 feeling I would suggest Bionix Reloaded.
I make it a habit to reboot my phone every night before I sleep.
Wanted to let the 2 or 3 people who read this to know my consensus.
I've tried most the droid charge roms and some of you might not have.
I Odin back to the first froyo and let the updates occur all the way to 2.3.6. Than loaded clockwork recovery through Odin (with auto restart off). Booted phone into cwr instead of booting into os. Than I flashed the superuser zip file in recovery.
So now I'm rooted stock rom and its running the best so far. GPS locks on very well but caused issues with 4g data. Almost flashed 4p radios back into it but than I disabled gps, ran speed test and speeds were good again. Enabled gps and ran another speed test and everything was gravy. So you might have to disable and enable gps one time.
Couldn't be happier with this build.
Update: I've gotten a couple pms asking me.
After I odin the first froyo build to prepare for all the ota updates I skipped setting up any accounts until the final gingerbread update was completed.

I agree. The only thing I don't like about Infinity is its instability and lag.
I agree. Other than the fact that I deodexed it, debloated it, rooted it, and themed it, my phone is stock.
I can put the original "poop color" theme back on the phone along with hiding certain apps and walk into a Verizon Store and the representative will know nothing about me having rooted the device.
The nice thing about stock is that it doesn't have the annoying lag like roms do. Little things between page transitions. So yes it is a pretty good setup

For those people who do know how to root, tweak, and otherwise customize their phones... more power to them. It gives you, the user, power to do what you want with your device which is what Android is really all about; giving the end user power over their own device.

I always suspected as much, so I decided to flash over to the stock (deodexed, rooted, imoseyon and cwr) and phone is finally as smooth as the day I got it. I love Humble and Infinity but the lag and freezing just started to drive me up the wall. I do miss the widget selector though, is there anyway I can get that back?
yea i had bad reboots and lagg on the infinity ROM...put it back to stock rooted..i dont even want to theme cause every time i flash something **** gets laggy..im over it..this phone has no development, and for as long as its been out thats pretty sad..safe to say we wont get any real development section on this phone...i had the droid incredible and they had tons of development..not hatin on the ones that are developing just sayin..

I ran infinity for a little more than a week. Did everything to make sure it was a good flash (went all the way back to ED1 to ensure I was bonestock). It ran great, and I'd still be on it if I didn't start having issues after flashing a theme and then reflashing the stock rom cause I didn't like it (first hotboot was <5 minutes after lol).
I had every intent on going back because it is so good. But after playing with the stock for a little bit, stock really is smoother. Its not a case of infinity lagging so much as stock feeling much more seamless. Its hard to describe, but you would probably notice the difference if you gave it a shot.
Again, not bashing infinity. I might even go back to it because I like some of the features.
On another note. I tried flashing the superuser zip like the OP discussed, but I lost root after reboot and can no longer boot into CWM. What could I be doing wrong?

You have to odin cwr again, make sure auto reboot is turned off. After successful "pass" of cwr, unplug to power down. You have to boot straight into recovery or else you will lose cwr. Than load superuser. If you don't boot into recovery on first reboot the stock recovery writes over cwr.

That was part of it, the issue was that I wasn't keeping root to change the permissions on the recovery installer.
Turns out, I wasn't mounting /system (mounting /facepalm instead).
Thanks for your help.
Yeah, that's a common occurance among the people who are new to rooting and using CWM. I screwed up when I was first doing this stuff too.

I haven't tried TweakStock yet, but so far self-debloated EP4D has been the best experience for me as well. Infinity isn't bad, but as others have said it just isn't as smooth as stock.
I am using this one to. The rest kind of suck Visual Voice mail dont work be nice if infinity had it working Id be using it.
Noob. How did you load clockwork recovery through odin? I just went back to ee4 now its updating all otas. just wanted to know if anybody can give me a hand. I saw a thread where imnuts put out a download of new cwr but too many problems. bricking etc. I just want stock rooted as above.
In the life of this phone, I have easily flashed a good 15-20 different Roms onto the device and used most of them for a decent amount of time. NO ROM has ever worked very good at all. The best luck I have ever had were with a couple like Valhalla and Octane that would work pretty decent for a couple months then the problems would always return in full force. Again, EVERY single rom has gotten extremely annoying problems eventually. I have had it with this phone.
I don't know what I could be missing here, as I have tried multiple times to start completely fresh from stock and wipe everything before and after a flash, but nothing works. The current ROM was installed after an sd card format, full wipe, wiped caches, etc... Right now it will randomly exit the messaging app frequently, has wifi problems, apps force close, random restarts, it often won't upload/download things because it says it doesn't have an sd card, and to top it off, CWM is having problems and will get stuck on a screen with just a picture and no words.
This phone is borderline unusable for its stability and other issues and I am tired of trying to make it work well. I am not even new to flashing roms, but this phone is a headache. Someone, please help me figure out what is wrong with this phone.
Even with these problems and my long rant here, this would still be a great phone and should have plenty of life left in it. I had minimal problems with my old SGS Captivate that I had before this, so I don't know what is wrong. Perhaps a piece of hardware is faulty? I would highly doubt that. I need help!
Use the GB Starter Pack. If you are using Titanium to put everything back, it may lead to problems. I remember a couple of times where restoring all my apks and data with Titanium caused a soft boot or force close cycle.

What ROM are you currently using right now. Maybe see if you can take a log of it to find out why the things Messaging might not be working?

It is currently on the non-themed Octane 3.0. I don't have the phone next to me right now, but can you explain the process for taking a log?
It sounds like you've wasted too much time trying flashing roms and trying to make the piece of crap perfect than actually using the phone. As much as I hate the stock of this phone, I will suggest using the one click kj6 heimdall then root it and voodoo no tweaks. Also start from fresh and try octane v3.0 w/o tweaks or kernal updates.

I hope that helps you out. There are some apps on the market like CatLog and aLogcat that also take logs if the guide doesn't work for you.

Im not trying to make it perfect at all. I am just trying to make it usable. It is extremely annoying when all you want to do is create a message but the app constantly force closes no matter what you do. The dialer has had the same closing problem also. Or the frequent rebooting multiple times a day. Like I said, I have had a few good flashes, but they only last for a few months until the problems come back.
To me, it seems as if though you are having some cache problems. Start fresh. Flash to froyo and try. If that doesn't work, then take your phone to t-mobile, because that is a hardware problem. I have been using the same rom for a month or two now (latest beta version of my AOSP Style) and I haven't had a single fc. I have even used processor tweaks and whatnot. SO before you cuss this phone out, I suggest you try my solution, it is guaranteed to work.
Oh yeah, as air said, it might actually be a hardware problem.

I have flashed back to froyo already, unfortunately. And there isn't a contract on the phone anyway. Do you know what piece of hardware would cause this though?
Not really sure, but if you are back to stock, I'd try to exchange it for another phone. I've had this phone since June (also not on contract), and I haven't had any of the problems you've had. Yes, I do need to reboot my phone every once in a while because bluetooth sticks and won't come on, but that's about it.
Usually, after I flash a rom and restore my programs/theme, I'll go back into cwm, wipe cache, wipe, dalvik, fix permissions, and then reboot and let the phone sit for a while. That usually takes care of making sure everything works right.
