[Q] network issues after flashing ardatdat kernel - Samsung Galaxy R i9103

hey,
recently i flashed ardatdat kernel... it is a good kernel as far as my phone's performance and battery life is concrened... battery life really improved by 3x
...where it used to live for only 12-15 hrs...now it works for more than a day without a recharge.
but there is a new problem.. my phone does not have network most of the times. ...
what should i do.. i even tried switching the phone to see if it is my phone or the sim causing an issue... but apparently it turned out to be SGR who is the culprit not the SIM...coz i am getting a pefect network iin any other phone..
please some one tell me what shuld in do nw to solve this no network problem...

Hi buddy,
- Could you specify which version of ardatdat's kernel are you using & also which ROM are you currently using ?
- When did this network issue start ? I mean did it start after you flashed something on your R ?
I'll suggest you to do the following:
- Switch back to stock ROM for the time being to check whether its a software related issue or its due to the hardware. Use it on stock for arnd 4-5 days & check if the problem persists.
- Switch your network/service provider with a spare SIM to check if your problem is only on certain networks.
Do update on the progress.

I was having the same issue....
but it was a issue wid network provider...
its a problem with airtel...

I'm also having the same problem (on airtel)...
Any fix??

thax for your reply guys
regarding stock rom, i already did that through some tool which gets you the stock rom by it self..i don't remember the name exactly.. but it think i am using the stock rom..
well regarding kernel- its 2.6.36.4-ardatdat kernel...
and initially i didn't show up any problem...in fact it looked pretty impressive.. but after few day when i did not hear any ring tones...i noticed that the network was very weak to receive any call..or if would call anybody..my voice would crackup..
i tried changing the handset and there was no problem at all in the network..
i think that's how this kernel saves the battery ...by not letting you talk to people...

I had the same problem on Vodafone
I dont think it has anything to do with the kernel... Network providers are to be blamed.

That's why I told you to recheck by flashing back to stock Kernel+ROM to check if its due to the kernel.

have you try to check only 2g/gsm data? Its stranges... may be due a error flashing...

[SOLVED] 3g not working in India

Well, i haven't used 3g till now, and today activated it, only to find that it doesnt work.
DDKP3
BCK Kernel Beta 13
Deodexed
No other mods.
Network mode is automatic
When i select WCDMA only. The phone is not able to connect to the network.
And on automatic, the phone stays on EDGE only
Anyone insights on it?
Had read Argentine people having 3g problems long ago. Anyone from there can help?
Also had read somewhere that it might be a CSC problem. I checked using *#1234# to see if CSC is unknown, but its proper.
More info from further posts and replies -
Service provider is Vodafone India.
Confirmed that its a phone problem, by using the SIM in another phone [SE Xperia Arc], and it worked on it.
SOLUTION -
Well, I had removed the sim to try it on another phone, and well on putting it back in the phone, it worked!
I actually feel like a noob after this!
Anyway, thanks everyone for trying to help!
I'm using 3g.... its working great!!! What service do you use? Also are u sure you have subscribed to 3G services... sometimes it takes a while to get activated.

Yea, obviously it isn't a general problem faced by all.
I guess, someone who's faced such a problem only might be able to help.
Had read alot of people having such issues, but now searching isn't giving quite the required results.
If you can, try your SIM card into another smartphone which is confirmed working with 3G, just to be sure the problem comes from your phone.

Baseband version ?? It matters??

I read somewhere that Baseband version deals with network, frequency and signal of mobile...
So now i am on official cyanogenmod 7.2 ( Baseband version DDKT2) and i am facing network problems such that while downloading any content my phone doesn't get signal in mid of downloads..something like netwotk is gone...network is showing but no progress in download, just like idle condition.then i have to search it again..(I tried it at different places and also with different operators but same thing with all, signal was -89Dbm)
Is this the problem with ROM or mobile?? or baseband ver. is making any problem?? because updated baseband ver. for galaxy fit stock rom was "DDKT3"!!
Please give me solution on this i am feeling very helpless??
Is there any Rom with DDKT 3 baseband??

My Fit's baseband version is DDKT2 and it never gave me any sort of problem in case of downloads. Official CM7 won't give such issues. I've used CM7 and it never ever misbehaved. So I think this is an issue with your mobile phone. Try flashing the stock ROM and then flashing a Cutom ROM again. If that doesn't help then the problem might reside in your hardware. Please be informed that I'm playing a guessing game and I may be wrong.
Hope this helps!

Hey Omario. Did you're other rom says 4g? I was a little dissapointed to find out that doesn't mean jack cause att lies about 4g. It really isn't lte.
http://www.att.com/network/?
Hit the coverage button to make sure you have it in your area?
If you do? Maybe try the lte switch app in the playstore, and mess with the APN a little more.

@grim yes I always do clean wipes
@suburadroid(or however u spell it) I know that they lie I actually enjoy seeing my signal up....but even with this I have every thing set... It just acts like I have no mobile network anymore I had to call att and have them activate lte last time this happened but that was right when I got the phone
Update : I guess for twenty mins my phone wanted to act up than start being normal again..... Thanks for the responses though!

Wifi not working...

Hello!
I decided recently to get a custom rom and since I've before used CM, I chose to use it yet again.
Though, I have problems with the Wifi. It's not working at all, it finds the networks though it just tries to connect and then fails.
I've tried the different kernels and searched through the forums for any solutions for it and I've tried what I've found, though nothing has worked so far..
So is there anyone that has had similar problem that has a solution for it?
I'm currently using,
[ALPHA][ROM][4.1.2] CyanogenMod 10 for Samsung Galaxy SL - Alpha 4 - Farewell Release
[UPDATE_4][9th Feb][KERNEL][CM9/CM10][ICS/JB] ALPHA11 Kernel
Thanks.
Maybe you enter wrong password? If not, flash XXKPE+PIT without bootloader

No, I'm 100% sure it's not a problem of wrong password.
But thanks a lot for responding and coming with an advice!
I'll try that now then!

Hi,
I also had wifi problems similar to yours until I came across this simple solution.
You may have already tried this, but if not:
In Settings->Wifi->Menu->Advanced, find the option which says "Avoid Poor Connections" and uncheck it. (de-select).
This trick completely solved my wifi problem.
I hope it works for you.
check you phone mac address. if your router is filtering mac turn on. than u will not get connected.

How do I find out which xxkpe to use if I can't see which firmware version I have by typing #1234#?
When I type #1234# I just get "Connection problem or invalid MMI code"...

could you explain in more detail how to flash nicsptl update.
which kernel has better battery qwerty or nicsptl update and with what governer ??
I've installed XXKPE and DDFL now and it's all working, almost like normal.
It's just my wireless signal that's a little weaker compared to before.
I have to be quite close to the wireless router to get decent signal otherwise I get almost none at all.
Is there any kernel or something I can do to fix this?

Weird SMS recieving problem

Hello, I have a sensation z710e. I just bought it and did everything to root and install Inspiration on it. The problem I am facing is that sometimes I don't receive text messages until I send someone a text, as soon as I do I get all of them back to back. I dont think it is a ROM problem because I have had this issue on the stock ICS as well. It can't be a network problem either because I had the same with my older phones (android/ios) and never faced such an issue... Please help...

Hmm I have cm10 but it is the same for most phone or similar go to settings then mobile networks then access point names. Google search what the fields are suppose to look like and use that apn. Might fix your problems.
Hello
Very wierd problem, indeed. If you say neither the network nor the radio is at fault then go to your message settings, uncheck the auto-retrieve messages' option. Then check your sms centre number. Check with your mobile operator for correct sms centre number.
