Wifi not working... - Samsung Galaxy SL i9003

Hello!
I decided recently to get a custom rom and since I've before used CM, I chose to use it yet again.
Though, I have problems with the Wifi. It's not working at all, it finds the networks though it just tries to connect and then fails.
I've tried the different kernels and searched through the forums for any solutions for it and I've tried what I've found, though nothing has worked so far..
So is there anyone that has had similar problem that has a solution for it?
I'm currently using,
[ALPHA][ROM][4.1.2] CyanogenMod 10 for Samsung Galaxy SL - Alpha 4 - Farewell Release
[UPDATE_4][9th Feb][KERNEL][CM9/CM10][ICS/JB] ALPHA11 Kernel
Thanks.

Maybe you enter wrong password? If not, flash XXKPE+PIT without bootloader

No, I'm 100% sure it's not a problem of wrong password.
But thanks a lot for responding and coming with an advice!
I'll try that now then!

Hi,
I also had wifi problems similar to yours until I came across this simple solution.
You may have already tried this, but if not:
In Settings->Wifi->Menu->Advanced, find the option which says "Avoid Poor Connections" and uncheck it. (de-select).
This trick completely solved my wifi problem.
I hope it works for you.

check you phone mac address. if your router is filtering mac turn on. than u will not get connected.

How do I find out which xxkpe to use if I can't see which firmware version I have by typing #1234#?
When I type #1234# I just get "Connection problem or invalid MMI code"...

could you explain in more detail how to flash nicsptl update.
which kernel has better battery qwerty or nicsptl update and with what governer ??

I've installed XXKPE and DDFL now and it's all working, almost like normal.
It's just my wireless signal that's a little weaker compared to before.
I have to be quite close to the wireless router to get decent signal otherwise I get almost none at all.
Is there any kernel or something I can do to fix this?

differences in LQ2 and LP5

hi all.. I started on HC...
then to LQ1
then LQ2,
now I see LP5..
Can you say what are the differences?
Should I flash again?
I'm in the USA.
thanks.alot
XALQ1 first released ics for austria... XXLQ2 is an update to it... they fixed something... but dont have any log on what they fix...
ZSLP7 release for HK. did not have face unlock
DDLP5 is indian release version. dont really have any different with LQ2
OK.. thanks alot
I also moved from XXLQ2 to DDLP5.
This was a mistake, no improvements and if anything the wifi problem is even worse under DDLP5.
I wish Samsung would fix the wifi issue, it is a major problem for me.
Lacks copy paste option on many apps...talk qq, firefox. ..., while those were working fine on LQ2 rom

i dont seem to facing any of the problem that you guys have... lucky me...
Just reflashed back to XXLQ2.
Wifi semi-operational again. More not working than working, but what can you do ?
Samsung could do much better if they started fixing their software, not sure if I could recommend these tablets to anyone that I know.
That said, the P6800 hardware is excellent - but I need a fully functional Jelly Bean software release !!!
BTW, is there a limit on the number of these Odin 1.85 flashes that one can do ?

Hmm, not too sure I've never had any problems with WiFi..
I gets the signal, and connects fine, LQ1 LQ2, and DDLP5
But I was with LQ1 previously and when I traveled abroad, mine could not connect to the most of WiFis even when GS2 connected just fine..
(on the way back home at airport, I fleshed to one of the CM9 Jellybean 1.3v and paranodroid, (see the devel forum), but still had the WiFi problem connecting to airport WiFi...
when I got back home, I fleshed to LQ2 and also DDLP5, they all worked fine (but of course only tested with my home WiFi..)
But when I fleshed this time, one thing I did was to really wipe Everything using cwm v6.0.01, (formating /system, /sdcard as well) except the external_sdcard.
My 6800 is hk version, whats yours? try fully wiping everything and flesh to DDLP5 ? I think the DDLP5 feels a bit smoother..
cheers

I ordered my tablet from HK, but not sure that it is HK version, how do you tell ?
I have had wifi problems with LQ1, LQ2 and LP5.
But it seems to be more of an issue when there is more than one router around - so it does not always happen. But it never happened with HC.

I use LP5 and luckily for me i have no issue (wifi works fine, performance with antutu benchmark (6194) is good compared with LQ1 AND LQ2 -no overclock). I did factory data reset as well as using this (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.manniakk.cscselector&feature=search_result) to enable my kies identify the device. I am using recovery from locerra (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1542897). The only boot loop happen when i want to do supercharge v6. Perhaps, i slipped up the procedure. No dare to repeat again.
Using locerra's cwm should be safe for a factory reset as it uses a safe kernel. Note that recovery has its own modified kernel that is used for the various operations. It does not use the rom's running kernel on the 7.7.

Hi Ashwin,
Can I flash a different country's ROM on my tab 7.7 (saudi / middle east) as ICS is officially still not available for the middle east. Are the firmwares available on sammobile & samsung-updates dot com genuine and risk free ? If yes, then how do I flash it on the tablet.
Sorry for the questions, still a newbie

[Q] Galaxy Tab 7.7 WiFI connection issues (HELP)

After using for quite a whille my Tab 7.7 has stopped working. It searches WiFi, but after numerous tries to connect it with the router it says only "connecting..." and then "..saved, secured with WPA" and there is no internet.
Model: GT-P6800
Android ver 4.0.4
Baseband ver: P6800XXLPW
Tried several times resetting to factory data etc...no help.
What is wrong? Any help would be appreciated....Thanks
Maybe it's the router?
Reboot it and then device.
If still not working, "forget" the connection and re-enter the connection/password and connect.
Also try on a different router to rule that out.

XXLPW is the modem version. you're probably on one of the first ICS, XXLQ1 or XXLQ2. Those versions had severe Wi-Fi performance issues. Upgrade to one of the newer ICSs, or to the just-released JB.

You can download the ROMs at:
http://samsung-updates.com/device/?id=GT-P6800
The XSP (Singapore) Jelly Bean seems to be the most popular right now, it's very low on bloatware (I haven't installed it yet, downloading right now). Of the newest ICSs, the most recent clean ROMs were the SER (Russia) and ZTO (Brazil).
A good guide on how to flash is at:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1469635
(read and understand it all before you start... The process is simple and easy, and the chance of something going wrong is minimal; but in the off case something goes wrong, you should know what to do)

The router is not the problem, trust me. The early ICS firmwares had problems in some wireless networks; that didn't happen on Honeycomb, or on most Cyanogenmod builds, or on newer ICSs. The Wi-fi driver seems to be the problem, it had some incompatibilities with routers that work with every other device; that was fixed later.
Wifi driver problem
Hi to all Tab 7.7 lovers/addicts,
I have the same WIFI connection problem as described above using an official Samsung release Android 4.1.2 (Singapore) on my Tab 7.7 in combination with my new router (a Fritzbox)
With other routers/ AP 's I am able to establish a WIFI connection, but speed is extremely low. - it takes hours to load a simple webpage compared to Android 3.2 versions of the same tab 7.7 -, so this is not a hardware issue; . My conclusion : there is a major WIFI (driver ?) problem after upgrading Android (from original/factory installed Android 3.2 version to ICS and higher).
Is there a safe way to roll back my device to 3.2 ? Is it better to try Android 5?
Possible to use a seperate WIFI driver/bug fix ?
Thanks !

[Q] No SIM or wifi after factory reset

Hi,
Yesterday, I had an update from 4.1.1. to 4.1.2. I'm running the stock rom. After I ran in the update, I re-rooted using CF-Auto Root.
Today, I thought I'd do a factory reset. Now, my phone won't detect any SIM card (I've tried 2) and although it seems to detect my wifi, it won't connect.
I had the phone on airplane mode when I selected the factory reset, but I wouldn't have thought that would matter.
Interestingly, I can now select airplane mode to turn on, but it then ghosts out and I can't turn it off.
I have a Samsung Galaxy Note 2. Please help!
I'm inclined to think this is a software problem as both sim and wifi worked perfectly before the factory reset.
I've tried registering with SamMobile to download the stock rom, but their registration page seems to be wonky. It complains I haven't completed the anti-spam task, but this area of the form is just blank.
yep.. thats a loophole in google... try doing it again... this time with cwm.. if that doesnt work.. u have to get the stock rom via odin

I have the GT-N7105T. I know the T variant has different radios. Some people say you can use N7105 roms and some people say no.

There's your problem!
The difference between the regular Galaxy model and the T variant is the modem. Telstra 'tweak' it on a hardware level for their NextG network and it means that the performance of the modem is affected to varying degrees (severe in your case) if you use a non 'T' modem.
There should be a modems thread, there should be a N7105T modem. I'll have a look and post back if I find one.

BOOM!
TDVDMB1 (Australia / Telstra) N7105TDVDMB2

Either of these should work, keep them to flash after you reflash a rom onto your phone

I've tried flashing the modem but unfortunately it had no effect.
I don't have the phone on me so I can't confirm this, but I'm starting to have scary thoughts about the efs. Unfortunately the only changes I've ever made to my Androids was just to root, and I didn't even know what the efs was.
Thing is, after my update my phone worked fine for over 24 hours before I reset it. Does this sound like the efs? How can I tell if that's the problem?
I guess I had to learn somehow, and I've definitely learnt ...
Would it be possible for me to get a copy of an efs folder from another Note 2 and adapt it to mine?
For anyone else who may come across this, I solved the problem by downloading the stock ROM from sammobile and flashing that.
I have also now flashed TWRP and have taken a nandroid including the EFS.
We all have to start somewhere, but hopefully my bad experience will prevent someone else's.

N8013 USB devices issue on KitKat leak

Hi everyone,
Recently, I've installed the leaked kitkat rom on my N8013. Everything seems to work fine, except for USB Devices. When I plug in my USB mouse, it says it's connected and then disconnected. Even if I pull out the USB, the message will continue to go on and off until I reboot my device. Another USB device that is having issue is my USB game controller. It doesn't display the message, however sometimes in game the button will get "stuck" (where my device thinks i'm still holding down the button) even though I have released the button. If anyone could help, I would greatly appreciate it.

I don't know as I haven't flash it.
I'm waiting a custom version of the official by Mike (ARHD chef).
Official version usually has less bugs...just give it a try if you want to.
But remember, always read carefully before flashing as it is for N8000 & yours is N8013

Ask if you have any questions about it in this forum, not to me as I never flash KitKat before.

I flashed it did a full wipe before flashing and it runs like a beast. Way better than the 4.1.2 rom.
I just flashed the official KitKat build and the problem unfortunately still persists. Perhaps it's caused by the fact that the update was intended for the N8000 and not the N8013. Could anyone try to plug in a mouse and see if they also get this problem?

Yes. I can confirm the mouse problem. It keeps saying connected, disconnected. Guess those bugs will be sorted one we get an official n8013 build, if we get one.
Or you can ask the devs for a fix.

I'm glad that I'm not the only one with this problem. Could someone with an N8000 test to see if they have this problem? If so, that means it's a problem across all devices and not just the N8013.
I too have this issue and am extremely curious if this ever got sorted out? i love my note 10.1 and the keyboard dock all i need is the damn mouse to work......
It's a matter of supplying enough power. If your kernel is not meant to support this kind of power than it won't work at all. Devices that needs external power (2.5 inch hard-drives, mouse connectors etc.) will work if you flash another kernel like boeffla. I had the same issue as you and I installed boeffla kernel. It works like a charm
I hope this will help you and if you want more help just mention me in your comment or send me a p.m. Have a nice day!

WIFI Weak on LOLLIPOP

Hi
I have a very annoying issue regarding WiFi. After flashing any custom kernel (Ak, furnace...), my wifi speed turns very very slow, it drops from 40 mbs to 2 mbs.
And the only way to fix it is with this app: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.brilliapps.wifiandmorefixer&hl=es
As i said this happens after a kernel change. I changed thing on my router, like channel, security protocols, qos but no way, it´s not a router problem.
Also i restored the phone to stock ( including a bootloader relock, etc...)
Anyone else have this issue? How can i fix it permanently?
Thank you

First of all thanks for this great rom. Since the begining of the year, with the new radio my wi-fi reception is very weak, if I'm farer than 4 o 5 metres from the router my wi-fi disconect. I've tried everything, different roms, kernels, clean installs from 44s strock without luck. It works fine with 4.4. My security protocol is WPA2-Personal.
Now I've done a clean install from stock 44s to today release following the instruction, everything is great except wi-fi.

I have the same problem as you. the only solution i found is to use 5GHz band.
On blisspop builds (cm12 based roms also) older than 01/01/2015 i was able to fix that problem by using this tool: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.brilliapps.wifiandmorefixer&hl=es
but on the newer builds it does not work. i think it may be some firmware related thing or something cm12 changed.
I have a thread open for it here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-one/help/wifi-extremely-slow-kernel-flash-t2978780
And please, could some experienced dev tell us whats going on?
Solved:
The issue seems to be solved for now.
What i did was resetting the phone to color OS stock Rom and then flashed back my actual lollipop ROM.

Thank you, this worked for me. I was only getting 1mb download speeds. Ran the app and now my one plus is getting 49mb download speeds. Now my one plus is perfect. Really really thank you.

Now I've done a clean install from stock 44s to today release following the instruction, everything is great except wi-fi.

Thank you

WOW ! INCREDIBLE !! I even went through the Technical Support, they replaced my device and still had the issue. I used this application and it works !! Went from 1-2mbps speedest to my full connection : 28 MBPS ! Using CM12.0S latest official CM ROM as today
