Light bleed and faded blacks :( - AT&T, Rogers HTC One X, Telstra One XL

Just got the Rogers LTE version today and first think i noticed is some light bleed coming from the bottom of the screen making the blacks kind of washed out.
Im comparing it to my SGSII which has ZERO bleeding and perfect blacks. But it is an LCD screen and not AMOLED

Return it if you have light bleed problems. As for the blacks, you are comparing it to an ambled screen after all...

[Q] yellow tint

Has anyone noticed/experienced a yellowish tint on their g2x? It is very noticeable on my phone whenever there is any kind of white background, and it is only in the bottom left corner area. Im on my second g2x and everything else is great, but this is starting to bug me. Is this something that can be fixed?

If it is screen bleed, it's not the "typical" screen bleed that lots of people experience to different degrees. I do have minimal bleed in the upper corners, but this is different. Unlike regular bleed, It's noticable on bright-colored screens (like white). For example, if I am reading text on white background, the bottom left corner looks yellowish - almost like it's dirty.
I noticed this, too. My screen is more yellow than my wife's g2x, but hers has some screen bleed. I honestly like the slight yellow tint. Much easier on the eyes, and colors on this phone look more natural.

Here is a video of the yellow tint problem I uploaded 2 days after I purchased it. Since then, I've had 3 replacements, each one fixed one issue but magnified another. Out of all of the issues the device has, this is the only one i can tolerate.

My fourth one had the worst screen bleed and this tint issue. It was very obvious. Because the bleed bleed was the worst on that one I assumed the tint was because of that.
me too

the 2nd one i had had horrible bleed and the tint i always thought it was due to the bleeding.

Screen light bleed anyone???

When I first turned on the phone I noticed some screen bleed on the very top of the screen if you were holding it vertically.
It doesn't seem to be bothersome when in use...you can barely notice it.
Anyone notice any ???
btw, the screen is great....
I kinda see what you're talking about, but coming from the MT4G with a "bad" display the difference is night and day. If I looked at my screen from pretty much any angle at all it would look all washed out, but now the colors and contrast are still there. I agree, the screen is great!

Blue tint on the screen when at an angle?

I got my S7 today and I haven't had an AMOLED screen for a looong time. Viewing angles are fine but everything gets a blue tint if I'm not looking straight? Or better, gets more blueish, it's not just a zone, it's the whole screen. Changing display modes doesn't do a thing. Is it normal?
I've googled around and read a few threads here but there seems to be a problem with uneven panels, having a small area of the screen with a different tint but this is all over and consistent.

light bleed.

just noticed my google pixel from verizon has serious light bleed on the top and bottom right corners. very noticeable on a black wallpaper or the ambient display screen. anyone else face this issue, defective lcd i suppose? :crying:

Light bleed comes from screens that are backlit by an LCD or LED. The Pixel uses an AMOLED screen, which does not use a backlight. Instead each pixel (of the screen) produces it's own light. Therefore, there can be no light bleed.
If you are seeing something resembling light bleed, I think you have a bigger problem that should be covered under warranty.
You should upload a picture so we can see what you are looking at.
im assuming it was a defective panel. so i got it swapped out today. new one is fine. amoled or not it seemed like light bleed to me on dark wallpapers.

Yeah, I figured there was a problem with the panel, glad they changed it out for you.

Its not typical backlight bleeding since as u said there is no backlight, but its the same thing that causes grey uniformity issues. Contrary to what people think amoled does not 'shut off' pixels when displaying black unless screen brightness is at a very low level. When checking the screen for uniformity with a grey backgrond my amoled screen has a yellowish tone in bottom left area and this same area wont display 'pure black' unless brightness slider is at a certain position.

Pressure are on the lower part of the screen

hey my htc u11 screen has bleeding on the lower edge a dead pixel and a pressure area on the lower part of the screen
do you have all of this or is it just me and do you think I should go for a replacement >
No issues here. No dead pixels and no light bleed.
Light bleed is mostly down the the screen being back-lit, not oled.
