Light bleed comes from screens that are backlit by an LCD or LED. The Pixel uses an AMOLED screen, which does not use a backlight. Instead each pixel (of the screen) produces it's own light. Therefore, there can be no light bleed.
If you are seeing something resembling light bleed, I think you have a bigger problem that should be covered under warranty.
You should upload a picture so we can see what you are looking at.

im assuming it was a defective panel. so i got it swapped out today. new one is fine. amoled or not it seemed like light bleed to me on dark wallpapers.

Yeah, I figured there was a problem with the panel, glad they changed it out for you.

Its not typical backlight bleeding since as u said there is no backlight, but its the same thing that causes grey uniformity issues. Contrary to what people think amoled does not 'shut off' pixels when displaying black unless screen brightness is at a very low level. When checking the screen for uniformity with a grey backgrond my amoled screen has a yellowish tone in bottom left area and this same area wont display 'pure black' unless brightness slider is at a certain position.

[Q] yellow tint

Has anyone noticed/experienced a yellowish tint on their g2x? It is very noticeable on my phone whenever there is any kind of white background, and it is only in the bottom left corner area. Im on my second g2x and everything else is great, but this is starting to bug me. Is this something that can be fixed?

If it is screen bleed, it's not the "typical" screen bleed that lots of people experience to different degrees. I do have minimal bleed in the upper corners, but this is different. Unlike regular bleed, It's noticable on bright-colored screens (like white). For example, if I am reading text on white background, the bottom left corner looks yellowish - almost like it's dirty.
I noticed this, too. My screen is more yellow than my wife's g2x, but hers has some screen bleed. I honestly like the slight yellow tint. Much easier on the eyes, and colors on this phone look more natural.

Here is a video of the yellow tint problem I uploaded 2 days after I purchased it. Since then, I've had 3 replacements, each one fixed one issue but magnified another. Out of all of the issues the device has, this is the only one i can tolerate.

My fourth one had the worst screen bleed and this tint issue. It was very obvious. Because the bleed bleed was the worst on that one I assumed the tint was because of that.
me too

the 2nd one i had had horrible bleed and the tint i always thought it was due to the bleeding.

Can anyone explain this?

Hi,
Just for fun I've put mu phone under UV light. I have some slightly yellow backlight bleeding and thought it might solve the yellow tint of backlight bleeding.
I don't have the yellow band, just some yellowish backlight bleeding.
And then I at once saw this:

Can anyone explain what's the rectangular part of the screen that is lighter than the rest of the screen? Or is it the glue that's everyone is talking about?
EDIT: my theory actually worked and no more yellowish backlight bleeding. It's still there (and only visible from a certain angle), but it's not yellow anymore. It's now white
I'm using franco kernel btw, so the screen tint is whiter than with standard kernel. This is when I noticed the yellowish backlight.
Is that the screen on with a black background? It looks so centered and rounded that I have a hard time believing it's not some sort of picture.
(I am not calling you a liar, just saying that it looks strange)
I could assume that your glue has been cured by UV but it has not spread across the whole screen yet. Maybe try putting it under the light again and check if that makes a difference?
The screen was off. Even worse: the phone was off....
That's exactly why I was surprised to see that. And why I asked here.
There is also nothing visible on the screen. The brightness is equal and no discolorations are visible. So I'm not worried about it. Was just curious.
I saw it the minute I've put it under UV light. Didn't change anything after 15 mins (except my yellowish backlight LED's became white) and in general the screen looked whiter)
On another forum I've read it could be some kind of oil to protect the LCD from the digitizer. Not sure it is but could actually be...
Could be glue but the shape is too strange for that.
Another guess is that they like sticked some kind of sticker on the glass (coming from manufaturer) and they remove the sticker without cleaning and then it leaves this kind of residu...
It's only visible under UV light, that's the interesting part.

[Q] My OPO's display has purple smearing/ghosting?

Even though the OPO has an IPS LCD, I'm getting some purple smearing/ghosting on the display when I scroll over dark/black images. Anyone else have this issue? I thought this was an AMOLED-only issue, but here it is.
Anyone know why? I haven't dropped it and I have a tempered glass screen protector and a Nillkin case.

i have ghosting on my display but it's a lot worse than that; it's showing inverted colors as well... i can see the home screen and the lock screen from an app with a black background :\
whoa, that's way more extreme. definitely contact OnePlus even though their customer service is extremely ****ty.

Backlight bleeding

I got my Mi4C a few days ago and like it very much so far, but noticed some backlight bleeding.
It´s only visible on grey background (AdAway or Fire TV app) so i don´t know if my device is broken or not.
Adding a picture for example below but i have to say that in reality its less visible than on the picture.
Please look at the right and left edges.
How about your Mi4C?
Basically just want to know if its faulty and i should get a new one or maybe "Bad construction design" by xiaomi? Now i notice it almost everywhere btw
What exactly is the issue? You mean that the screen is bright at the edges? I think mine is a bit too but it's hard to notice. Can you provide more photos?
My backlight is visable at extreme angels so i think it is just the Sharp display used. It is not the highest quality of components.
I have some light bleed on the top, only visible with a status bar color other than black or white, so kind of a non issue for me
@Ydraulikos
Yes, thats exactly what i mean. The edges of the screen are brighter. Especially the edge marked yellow on the picture.
The other ones are only visible if you look hard for it.
More examples below

Shadows on display

Guys but also you at the bottom of the display you see black halos?
I means like shadows where there is the back button, and down bar.Where the black stripe stops.
On watssapp, facebook, messenger and chrome this shadow it looks better, on white backgrounds.
I hope to be paranoid, but to all of whom I asked said yes, it can be seen :crying:
Thank you
I think you're seeing the LEDs from an LED edge lit display. The same issue that causes a "yellow" tint. The backlights diffusers aren't perfect.

Not all, only on the bottom and the color it's grey, like vertical strips.

I know what you're describing. I've seen it on one. I'm just telling you what I think is causing it.
