When I first turned on the phone I noticed some screen bleed on the very top of the screen if you were holding it vertically.
It doesn't seem to be bothersome when in use...you can barely notice it.
Anyone notice any ???
btw, the screen is great....
I kinda see what you're talking about, but coming from the MT4G with a "bad" display the difference is night and day. If I looked at my screen from pretty much any angle at all it would look all washed out, but now the colors and contrast are still there. I agree, the screen is great!

Hi,
Just for fun I've put mu phone under UV light. I have some slightly yellow backlight bleeding and thought it might solve the yellow tint of backlight bleeding.
I don't have the yellow band, just some yellowish backlight bleeding.
And then I at once saw this:
http://i.imgur.com/CqycUe0.jpg
Can anyone explain what's the rectangular part of the screen that is lighter than the rest of the screen? Or is it the glue that's everyone is talking about?
EDIT: my theory actually worked and no more yellowish backlight bleeding. It's still there (and only visible from a certain angle), but it's not yellow anymore. It's now white
I'm using franco kernel btw, so the screen tint is whiter than with standard kernel. This is when I noticed the yellowish backlight.
Is that the screen on with a black background? It looks so centered and rounded that I have a hard time believing it's not some sort of picture.
(I am not calling you a liar, just saying that it looks strange)
I could assume that your glue has been cured by UV but it has not spread across the whole screen yet. Maybe try putting it under the light again and check if that makes a difference?
The screen was off. Even worse: the phone was off....
That's exactly why I was surprised to see that. And why I asked here.
There is also nothing visible on the screen. The brightness is equal and no discolorations are visible. So I'm not worried about it. Was just curious.
I saw it the minute I've put it under UV light. Didn't change anything after 15 mins (except my yellowish backlight LED's became white) and in general the screen looked whiter)
On another forum I've read it could be some kind of oil to protect the LCD from the digitizer. Not sure it is but could actually be...
Could be glue but the shape is too strange for that.
Another guess is that they like sticked some kind of sticker on the glass (coming from manufaturer) and they remove the sticker without cleaning and then it leaves this kind of residu...
It's only visible under UV light, that's the interesting part.
Anyone else have any issues in regards to the screen?
I can look past the horrible refresh rate/ghosting, but this is really bugging me, amongst other things.
It seems the bottom half, mainly in the left corner, is quite a bit brighter than the top, making it seem more yellow, and the top a darkish pink hue.
The bottom corners also have very noticeable light bleed strip down the sides, which is noticeable on any screen/colour. It's like a small bright 3mm or so wide strip each side.
Half way up theres also a mark that separates where the brighter part of the screen starts/ends, so I'm wondering if someone dented the back of the panel when assembling it in the factory?
Either way I've requested a replacement, I'm just more curious to see if it's a common problem or not. Ghosting aside, the screen itself is quite stunning to look at, especially with a bit of ambient light in the room.

i didn't get your question, but if it is that i have any issues in regards to the screen? then no, i think it's stunning...
I also have the light bleed in the corners but it's only really noticeable on the bottom of the right bezel (in portrait). The light bleed looks like a strip on bright white light running up the right hand bezel before stopping about a third of the way up.
This is my second z3 and I'm contemplating whether to bother with another replacement or just return it altogether. Can't say I've been won over by the phone so far...I may just go for the note 4 instead...
Hi Everyone,
I recently bought a Oneplus one and am a bit disappointed with the display. Besides having the yellow part at the bottom, when I look a little at it at an angle I see the screen tint to whitish almost blue and this effect increases as my eyes level to the surface, this is best seen by looking from the right corner of the screen with a black background. Is this normal? I only need my head to be slightly away from the screen to notice it. Also I notice light bleed from the top.
Let me know if this is just an effect of the LCD display and if its normal. I've used amoled displays before this.
Regards,
Bobbie

I don't have this issue on mine. Honestly though, why is it such an issue? The scenario you're describing would just never happen in the normal use of the phone, nobody looks at their phone on such an angle when using it.

Hi Heisenberg,
Thanks for the quick reply. I do notice it during normal use otherwise it wouldn't be a problem. The phone is on the left side of my computer now and as i'm looking at it I notice the whitish blue tint while using a black background.

Fair enough. Dunno what to say though, I have two of these and neither of them have a tint when viewed on any angles. I initially thought my screen protector might be why but that can't be the case because one of them doesn't have a protector on it.

Mine does have a screen protector on it that was already on it when I received it, could it cause some kind of tinting? I only see it from an angle not if i just look down from the top to the bottom of the phone, then it looks perfect.

It's possible. Those films that come already on the phone aren't actually screen protectors as such, well they're not meant to be used for an extended period of time anyway, they're really just to give light protection during the shipping process. I'd recommend you remove that one and get yourself a good tempered glass protector. The Nillkin 9H is exceptional and it's quite cheap too (less than $10).
Does anybody else have a rather noticable grainy screen? It looks like a layer between the diodes and the front glass. Its as if I was looking on the screen with some photoshop grainy effect. Or better, if you put a very thin paper in between the diodes and the front glass. It gets significanty better with brightness turned up to max. But it doesnt go away completely. Its most pronounced with darker colours. Black is fine though, no mura effect there.
Its really annoying to look at. Is it normal? I thought LG supposedly fixed this issue which was very common on the original Flex.
I only saw a grainy screen when I turned the brightness way way down below the normal with Lux brightness control.
Hello! My screen looks like this: http://imgur.com/a/9P3Xn. On the first photo it is a little bit hard to see but there's blue tint on right top and right bottom of the screen. Overall right side of the screen is whiter than left side. Grain is visible on the photos. In real life it isn't too grainy on the first look but when u use the phone it is really anoying, atleast for me. Should i go with warranty? Is it possible to get better screen?

it's normal your screen look like that, is OLED, and almost OLED and AMOLED look like that after some time...if you put your brightness up to 100% you dont notice that too much, only if the brightness is low you notice that...dont worry! I brought my G flex2 4 days ago and my screen have a blue spot like yours but on the right corner in the middle of screen and i am not worried about that!
All AMOLED and OLED screen's someday will have this "problem"...
