Need help recovering my O3d :( - LG Optimus 3D

Hi guys ive recently ran into problems with my O3d and i need to do a recovery on it. I had rom manager on it and i backed up everything before it went wrong but know all my apps and games and stuff has gone including rom manager!!! Ive also tried the volume down and power button but i cant seem to access the restore part of it. I know all my stuff is still on my memory card though which makes it the more frustrating lol. Is there anybody that can help me with this or is it a case of I just have to start again??? Any help would be grateful guys. Cheers

Re download rom manager on your new rom and go to restore and manage backups and it should be there if you backed it up
Sent from my LG-P920 using XDA

When you selected 'Flash Clockworkmod Recovery', did it pop up LG Optimus 2x rather than Optimus 3D? I think that's what happened and you're not supposed to do that because your phone will no longer boot... you'll have to try the recovery instructions here.

First you should root.
Download CWM and install recovery.
Then press reboot into recovery.

oh well tried all your methods guys and none have worked . The most frustrating thing about it is though all my apps are on my sd card. I spoke to lg earlier and they said there was a way of doing it through my googlemail account? Any ideas?? She said I had to send it off but because its rooted I can't

What does it say on your phone
If the phone boots to anything, your not bricked.
Sounds like your trying to flash it the wrong way or something? Download the ROM you want, put it on your SD, you can mount from CWM if you cant boot past recovery.
Wipe/factory data reset
Then install from zip
Select your ROM and your on your way
Well first the S/W updating screen, then unplug the phone put the battery and reboot to CWM and when im going to do a restore/backup it always says wrong image or no image file or no file or m5 something as for now i cant do nothing to restore my phone.
I have seen where that happens at times, where you cant restore someone else's backup. If you have access to a pc, just download a new ROM. BTW, Gingerbread is far more stable on my phone then any FROYO was

not a problem. the brother above is right, it sounds like you are trying to flash the nandroid restore instead of flashing a rom. I apologize for not making more clear when I sent you the post. You can actually restore that but you dont flash from zip you go to backup/restore and choose restore for that file in that post.
1. You must have ROM Manager installed and or ClockworkMod Recovery flashed and an external sdcard installed. Then have the directory and file contents of the "LG-P999-V10f.rar" file extracted to your external SDCard in the _ExternalSD/clockworkmod/backup/ directory.
2. Run ROM Manager and choose Reboot into Recovery or boot phone into clockworkmod recovery.
3. In recovery go down to backup and restore, choose restore.
4. Select LG-P999-V10f and choose Yes - Restore.
5. When the restore finishes do not reboot yet. Do a "wipe data/factory reset" from the recovery menu.
6. When it completes choose Reboot.
the file is here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1048274

Glad you got it worked out. The x-boarders stock tweaked is really nice and very stable. Its probably the best IMO. I also like the AOSP by Faux combined with his OC kernel is really nice also. There is also another I have been hearing alot about that seems to be really nice with alot of custom options and tweaks and thats called Weapon. Happy Flashing
Thanks a lot im going to check them out!!!
One more question??
When i go to the sounds menu on the ringtones they appear three times all the sounds, why is that??
Sounds like you have an older SD you may have used in another device? You most likely have them on your SD a few times under Audio or something IIRC
Maybe who knows jeje, but i just flash a froyo rom and it fixed so no worries.

Bricked G2X

GUYS HELP PLEASE I nullifed my device, left it on all night (unplugged) because I fell asleep. Now, I can't boot to CWM.. I've tried to install stock recovery, but once I turn it on it just stays on the plain, white LG logo. If I hold down volume down + power buttons the same thing happens. Can you guys help me please. I hope I didn't permanently brick my G2X.
U cant permanently brick it. Search the forums there's been a thread like this in the past week

Next time read the little part which is in big bold letters about not turning off your phone with out flashing a ROM or restoring a nandroid immediately afterward.

Flash a ROM which is rooted

Hey guys, I rooted my friends G2x and everything went fine until I flashed the ROM. Like an idiot, I did not make a nandroid backup...I downloaded BionixReloaded and up it on the sd card. Rebooted to recovery and went through the usual steps. I did a factory reset and formatted the system. However, when I went to flash the ROM, I got the "E: Can't open /sdcard/zROM/*name of ROM*.zip (bad). Now the phone won't reboot which I'm assuming is from formatting the system. I can still get into recovery and download mode....will this method fix the problem? http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1248644#
Like I said, I'm not very familiar with the G2x, so any help be be appreciated!
I cannot remember for the life of me remember what that error means, but you can just re-download the rom you want and place it in the sdcard by mounting USB storage through mounts and system, and then flash.

Make sure the Rom.zip isn't named Rom.zip.zip. if so rename correctly, also can check md5 of the zip to ensure its a good download prior to flashing.

Thanks everyone for the quick responses. I'm guessing it boiled down to a bad download, but for some reason I could not connect via USB from recovery on my laptop, so I brought it to my friends house and was able to get it to connect so I redownloaded the ROM along with another incase I got the same error, but it worked flawlessly. Thanks again to all that offered help instead of sending me a useless link via LMGTFY!

[Q] CWR Touch Freezing

Heylo Guys,
First post (obviously) and I'm kinda stumped.
So, I rooted my phone (Skyrocket on AT&T) with Odin and got CWR on it as well. Then I successfully flashed the Sky ICS rom and was doing all my joyful downloading and stuff of apps. I got ROM Manager and updated my CWR to Touch Recovery. Everyting was fine and dandy. I then wanted to back up everything after everything was set up and my ROM Manager froze. Sooo, I did the recovery via button holding and tried to backup; however, Touch won't backup, it just freezes. So, I started to do other things in touch... but they freeze too! In fact, it even freezes when i just try to go back to a previous menu. My phone still works... I just can't flash anything... or do anything in CWR. Anyone know what's up?

the version of cwr that rom manager flashes is very buggy. you should flash a recovery from somewhere in the dev section. i prefer 5.5.0.4, i have never had a problem with it.

why do u think my sig is the way it is, ive read a few hundred posts here on the i727 forum b4 i even attempted to flash, i did not want to brick my baby.
too many users come on here read a few posts, head straight to the devs, dont understand what they are reading in the devs op, but flash anyways, then cant understand why their phones arent working when everyone else's is, and i dont think you have read it here that anyone has updated or used cwm through rom manager, unless rom developer says u can , so it begs the question, why did you?, if u followed my advice you would b sitting pretty

hello! i also have an inspire which i rooted for the first time 2 days ago and then flashed with android revolution rom and it works great!
but i also spent 2 days reading before doing it and from what i understand in your case as long as you can access recovery you are fine. just use a card reader to place a new zip file with a any rom on your sdcard. access recovery wipe everything (i used the script available in the android revolution thread) and reflash a new rom. also be careful not to be impatient because the first boot will take longer i almost removed the battery also because phone was stuck on the htc screen but after a while it finished and the lock screen came up so glad i waited. this was my first time so plz correct me if i am wrong. hope this helps!

is good to spend days before flashing !
If att claims gave you an inspire in place of a captivate you should call claims back and get a free skyrocket.
Just thought i would give ex captivate owners - now inspire users a heads up on that tip.

yes very interesting do you have one what model ?
usually you need it to network-unlock phone or to flash a bootloader if phone is bricked
also it can solve a known problem "dead phone after unlock"
I think it can.. But i am not having one.. Sorry.. I was just guiding you..

Friend thought he bricked his infuse, I can get it in red CWM and in download mode!!!

My friend could not get his phone to turn on, or blink, or do anything at all... After a while of messing with it I got it to turn on and I figured out how to boot the red CWM and from there I can also send it into download mode. I have tried reformatting and wiping data and rebooting ect, ect, but nothing is working, OHH and BOTH my micro SD cards are write-protected for some RETARDED reason so I cant put the ROM on that and CWM it.... So can somebody help me out please!
AND BEFORE YOU START POINTING FINGERS!
I have read threads for the last 10-12 hours (straight, no joke) and have tried using Odin, and the HEINSCHEMIA or whatever its called, and I just dont seem to be getting it xD i think its just the instructions are too vague since I havent used these programs at all, both of them go NOWHERE (and I do have the drivers installed)
I am not new to this stuff and I have put ROMs on probably upwards of 20 devices but this one is really pissing me off =[ im dead tired and sick of just reading hundreds of threads that are taking me nowhere! SOMEBODY PLEASE HELP I WILL BE FOREVER IN YOUR DEBT! =]

???? I said IT CANT BOOT and I CAN GET INTO RED CWM AND DOWNLOAD MODE.... how would i root it if it wont boot....
And that program wont work because you have to have the drivers installed and from what i can see its impossible without at some point having my phone connect (regularly, not in CWM or download mode) which is obviously not gonna happen... so thats useless as can be....
ALSO I FIGURED OUT HOW TO TAKE THE WRITE-PROTECTION OFF (NOT MANY PEOPLE KNOW THIS, I FOUND THE SETTING IN DEVICE MANAGER!) BUT IM DUMB AND CANT FLASH THE ROM BECAUSE ITS IN THE EXT SD NOT THE INTERNAL SD! ANY WAY AROUND THIS?
and while trying to follow a tutorial (which i think was BS now) all my drivers are gone from "Computer" except for C, D, and my disc drive 0.0 stupid KEY REGISTRY CRAP! so i need to figure this out and when im done i need to restore to before i screwed it up
EDIT: FORGOT TO MENTION THO THAT MY BROTHERS GF HAS AN INFUSE I THINK SO IM GONNA HAVE HER COME OVER AND ILL FINISH INSTALLING THE DRIVERS WITH HERS, THAT WOULD WORK RIGHT???

I take offense to the title "mufmaker," Sir. I've re-flavored a MUF or two and might have even dyed a few MUFs. But make one, I did not.
btw..we had this discussion a while back...the OS that runs the phone may be more accurately call a firmware. So we have Unofficial Firmwares. And Modified UFs can be called MUFs
