Hello, i've bought a chinese tablet with Android 4.0 preinstalled.
I'm looking for a Usb to Lan adapter compatible, because i prefer to use the cable instead the wifi.
Can you give me some information or advice about usb to lan dongle compatibility with android 4 ?
Thanks
My tablet is a Voyo Q101 and works great at the moment, and i hope..also in the future.
So is there a way to get it work with a usb to lan dongle ?
Thanks

Hi
I want to connect a HUAWEI MediaPad 7 (ICS 4.0.3 kernal 3.0.8) to wired internet (ADSL) connection through a USB Ethernet adapter, do I need any driver for this or will this work directly? I ordered a USB Ethernet adapter from ebay and currently waiting for it.
I really want a work around for this because I don't want to use Wifi @ home
thanks

Why don't you want to use WIFI ?
The success of what you're trying to do seems to depend on the model of the tablet and looks like it can require flashing a custom kernel.
I would just Google your tablet model and "usb ethernet" and see what comes up to see if someone's already done it.
Hello everybody !
Here's my issue:
I have an old chinese single core Cortex A9 ZeniThink C91 tablet with standard type A USB socket and Android 4.0.3.
I bought a ModeCom Bluetooth speaker which works perfectly with my mother's Acer Iconia A1-810 and Bluetooth v4.
I also bought an Ultron UBA-140 nano USB Adapter to use with my notebook and tablet but it doesn't recognise it.
I also have an old Bluetooth v1.2 adapter and it recognises it, I can pair the devices but can not use the speaker so the device and the Android supports Bluetooth adapters.
My questions are:
Can I get a driver for my BT v4 adapter to the Android 4.0.3 ?
Or should I buy a different adapter which is compatible with the tablet ?
How can I know which adapters are compatible with it ?
Thanks,
Zoló

Thank you, you are right !
I've already checked manufacturer's site.
There are Windows drivers, no Android
Hello
I'm trying to connect my Samsung GT N8000 tablet (Gnabo Rom 4.2) to the internet via an Ethernet cable and an OTG cable. In the Version of the ROM I have there is clearly an option for Ethernet available in the connectivity tab, but its always greyed out. I'm using a KY-RD9700 Ethernet to USB 2.0 connector and a Samsung OTG cable. The OTG cable works normally with other devices but its not recognizing the ethernet at all. Assisting apps such as Ethernet on the play store do not help. I understand this is most likely a kernel issue, but since ethernet is already being shown in the connectivity tab, I'm not sure. If that could be the issue, is there any KitKat compatible ethernet eth0 supported kernels for the Gt N8000? I'm having trouble finding one as they made the newer Note 10.1 which pretty much screwed people having the old one. Any solution of workaround will be greatly appreciated.
I've seen that you can use an usb ethernet adapter to connect to LAN with android, so I wanted to test with a Shield Tablet.
I have a D-Link DUB-1312 adapter which works perfectly on pc, but neither my Shield or my Moto G are able to connect to LAN with this adapter.
Is there any driver for Android Lollipop? I have tested and app called Ethernet but says that cannot find the adapter.
I would appreciate some help.
Thank you
A search of Amazon reviews says that this one works out of the box http://www.amazon.ca/Plugable-Gigab...-Specific/dp/B003VSTDFG/ref=cm_srch_res_rtr_4. May be worth the money.
As title I would like to know if:
- is it phisically possibile to FULL CHARGE SHIELD Tablet while using gigabit ethernet and if yes with WHICH Y OTG cable + ethernet adapter do you manage to achieve it?
- can you confirm the list I am attaching? In particular I would like to know if the FIRST ONE (Inteck, the only gigabit + USB 3.0 even if SHIELD Tablet goes on 2.0) really works (chipset Asic AX88179 should not be supported but it seems it works anyway).
Shouldn't just AX88178 (USB 2.0 + ethernet gigabit) be fully working?
Really difficult to find a good working 'bundle'. That's the reason of this thread.
Thanks. Best regards.
