[Q] sim card - HTC One S

I have a dumb question. I ordered the one s using the upgrade from one of my other lines. Can I activate the sim card that came with the s with my main line or will they tell me I have to use it with the line I ordered it from? Not sure if its tied in any way to the line I ordered it for. Thanks for any help.

You can use the micro sim from other line. They wouldn't care. I did the same thing as you. Active new line and use One s for my old line

The 4S one is the same. As long as it is orange / blue
Ok cool so there's not a specific SIM for LTE?

All orange / blue ones are LTE compatible, regardless of size.
The blue / white ones are HSPA only.
The older ones have less storage too. (not that anyone store contacts on a SIM anymore)
Thanks. I realized a few minutes ago that the question is moot because I got a go phone today and it of course has a larger SIm
I need a sim adapter so I can switch back and forth

Go phone SIMs are different too. Those can't be switched to any other phone

Ditto. Between the micro-sim ( can't fall back easily to my HTC Vivid ) - the perma-locked bootloader ( HTC, rolling over for AT$T on this makes kittens cry ) - and no micro-sd - I'm really starting to debate picking up the HOX today ( even though I'm up for full subsidy )
But I digress... anyone have experience chopping a normal sim to make an adapter?

Rogers sells combination sim/micro sim cards. If you get one of those, and carefully cut out the larger sim piece, it makes an excellent adapter. I found that the plastic ones you can buy elsewhere would tend to get stuck in the phone and require a scary amount of force to get out.

[Q] so i got my free sim card unlock code but

i cant find anyone with a micro sim card to put it in my phone lol i forget this phone has the micro sim card for whatever reason. can i just get one somewhere for free or something? my mom and grandma have at&t but idk if they will give them one for free. i just wanna make sure the sim unlock code works that tmobile gave me lol
The phone comes with one. What happened to it? You can also buy them on Amazon if you need to.

well i need an at&t micro sim card so i can boot up my phone and it will ask me to enter the unlock code that tmobile provided me so i can use my phone for at&t now.
Get a sim card cutter and adapter from amazon/ebay. they are like 2 bucks.
Use a sim cutter to make it into a micro sim. Or if you want to risk cutting it yourself then you can do it too. I did that with my t-mobile sim card and cut it with a pair of scissors . Why would you use the One S on AT&T when you can get the One X running on their network. I am a little confused what you are trying to do though
cut it yourself or go onto the carrier website and order one
here in the UK the sim cards are free

I want to unlock it so if my mom and grandma get there phones fixed if they ever need to I can let them borrow my phone to use. Plus I want them to use my phone since I'm trying to talk them into buying the one x.

Amazon sells AT&T pre paid sims, but you'll probably end up having to buy some minutes with it. But, then at least you can verify it works once unlocked.

I'm on a TMO plan. I got an unlock code, went on ebay and got an AT&T micro sim for $3 shipped. Swapped sims and entered unlock code. Removed the AT&T sim and reinserted the TMO sim.

Could anyone who has used an unlock code to successfully unlock their phone take a look at this thread and see if you can help?
We are close to getting a free sim unlock hack for all but need a few contributors for testing purposes.
Thanks!

[Q] No sim error, Tape fix didn't work

Hello! Guys, Im going to say it straight forward, I'm frustrated. I bought an AT&T HTC One X and it simply doesnt read the sim card. I'm from Dominican Republic and I bought it from someone here so warranty wont work and the seller disappeared (YEAH, he robbed me in a sense) I tried the tape method and nothing... Ive read countless threads about this and came up with this idea: Let's buy a sim card reader from ebay along with a new sim card tray and just try with that. What do you guys think? Is there another easier method other than tape?
Thanks in advance for your help.

[Q] How did you activate your Maxx Dev Ed on Verizon?

Just got my Maxx Dev Ed direct from Motorola.
Came with nano SIM preinstalled.
Coming from a RAZR M with micro SIM so must activate nano SIM that came with Maxx.
Worried about losing my unlimited data on VZW as I have read elsewhere sometimes happens if you aren't careful about activating a new SIM.
Anyone who has done his personally and successfully please share the exact steps you took.
Thanks so much!
You can just trim down the micro sim to fit in the nano sim slot.
What about going the other way I want to use my nano Sim in my RAZR hd is this possible?

Thanks for the suggestion but I've had mixed success in the past with cutting SIM cards, even with great precision.
If anyone has successfully activated a new sim without losing their unlimited data plan on Verizon, please share how you did it.

You should not have a problem doing that if you use a "nano to micro SIM tray adapter" readily avialable on Amazon or eBay.

Okay was afraid to involve Verizon but I called them and lucked out with a tech support rep who knew what they were doing and got me all set up on the new SIM without making any changes to my account (read: unlimited data lol).
Had tried the website but it was asking for some authorization thing to add a new line even though I clearly had selected on a prior menu that I wanted to activate a new device on the same line.
Hope this helps others and thanks again for the responses..

To be honest, I think that the phone requires one of the new NFC SIMs in order to be activated on Verizon anyway. Cutting down the older micro-SIM probably would not have worked. That's the way it was when the phone first came out, anyway.

Works fine on a cut down Sim

Just pop into a corporate store if it's not working online. They can get you a new nano NFC SIM card and activate it for free, and the way Iconic works requires the rep to really go out of their way to change your data plan. Policy is only to change it if you've purchased a new phone with either a new contract or on Verizon Edge. Otherwise it's just an ESN swap. Have them set you up with Isis too (if you haven't already) so that both of you get something out of it, even if you don't end up using it.
I would not recommend SIM cutting, especially given how easy it is to get a hold of a new nano NFC SIM or to just use the one that came with the phone.
Dude. You paid for your phone. They can't take your data.
Get isis! You will get $50 free for signing up. Plus $15 off $25. Plus $1 off every contact less payment!

man all you gotta do is go to activate phone type in the new numbers and turn your new phone on with the sim card inserted that easy took me like 3 minutes

I wouldn't trust the one outside the box personally.
