i have rom manager from market and several backups created through it. I just updated clockwork with it today to newest version and removed some games and things from the phone and tried to make a new recovery. it restarted but stopped, im now stuck on the android start up screen in fastboot mode but it says no boot or recovery image, if i reboot bootloader it comes up just fastboot mode but if i choose recovery it loops back to no boot or recovery img.. what do i do???
..im assuming the newest clockwork is the problem and all i need to do is find an older version of clockwork, connectto pc, use adb to push clockwork to phone and then use restore??? any one know and if so what commands
Maybe this will help...

not sure that would help as i cant get to setting to turn on usb debugging, im stuck in the google fastboot menu?
Open rom manager and flash clockworkmod again. The same thing happened to me when I updated
i cant open rom manager, i cant get into anything phone is stuck on google android fastboot screen, my options are reboot botloader, reboot, recovery, and power off. if i go to reboot bootloader phone will reboot and the top red line reads fastboot mode-no boot or recovery img. if i use reboot the no boot or recovery img goes away, when i select recovery it restarts and goes back to no boot or recovery img.....clockwork never starts
When that happened to me I was still able to boot up the phone as normal and open the rom manager app. Are you not able to boot up as normal, not in fastboot?
ok would the command be:
adb reboot bootloader
fastboot oem unlock
fastboot flash recovery recovery-xyz.img
or do i need a file extension to distiguish where the recovery img is saved on my comp
if your bootloader is already unlocked all you have to do is flash the recovery image
fastboot flash recovery (path to recovery img)/recovery.img (or whatever the file name is)
yes its unlocked, ok so i do need file path, thanks, is there an easier way to re push clockwork
*no i cant boot as normal its stuck on google fastboot screen

am i wrong to assume this is the fix?
cant get pc to connect with fastboot/abd/emulator, any ideas?
Thread moved, please post in the correct sections
the correct way to fix
you need to download ODIN to your pc and put your phone in download mode. this will return your phone to stock rom( i did not loose root)
once it was restored i could turn on usb debugging and push files to restore super user and an older version of clockwork.
from there you can start over or restore a backup..here is link to odin info
http://www.androidtotal.com/unroot-google-nexus-s-4g-android-2.3.4/
Yes, first of all i read all other Threads with the Words (Stuck and Google Logo) and i use Google. I spent yesterday about 5hours und could not fix the Problem.
So, i tried to install a ROM (CM9), i do that with the Guide from nexusshack..
I think somewhere between (Wipe System) i got the Problem. Now my Nexus S Stuck in the Boot - i made some Screenshots.
Maybe someone can help me?
same problem here any help?
Would be useful if you could point out your nexus S model...
Anyway, since you have access to bootloader, just flash cwm recovery with fastboot, go in recovery and wipe all, mount USB from inside recovery and transfer another rom for your model to the SD card. After that just flash the new rom and it should work.
nexus s 19020a
Yup....just flash custom recovery....then you can flash other rom..
Hey guys,
like mentioned in my thread before a week ( I will let it die ;-) ) I got the same problem with an I9023.
I flashed factory images including bootloader and radio,cwm-recovery via fastboot, every single action succeeded, but I still got stuck in this *%&/(()-Google-Screen. I cannot boot into recovery, only bootloader is working.
i have the same problem does any one have a suggestion !!
thanks in advance
Had the same issue about one month ago. It was when I installed CM9, there were missing drivers. Do not remember, which exactly.
What do you mean with 'drivers'?
nexus S was in locked state...can't able to unlock thorugh "fastboot oem unlock" (FAILED <remote:ERASE FAIL>.. even all drivers were installed properly...if i try to get in to recovery mode there is an exclamtion mark...what it that..???
It means you have no recovery installed... Use Odin to flash a stock rooted Rom then flash recovery you must have erased everything now you need to start from scratch...

So i bought a htc one xl on craigslist a few months ago. I downloaded an app to check if its rooted and it said it was. Long story short i think i downloaded the wrong rom and i cleared everything from TWRP. I really have no business doing anything like this.. Now im stuck. I can get to the bootloader mode screen but when i got to recovery it takes me to twrp. I hope i didn't screw it up too bad. TWRP says "no os" also.
Any help would be appreciated! Im done with messing with rooting and such i don't want to mess up my phone anymore.
ps: I didn't do a backup.
Download the right Rom to your computer lets make it viper xl to make things easy once done downloaded mount usb storage in twrp drag the Rom over... Factory reset and flash the Rom and you're good
It installed fine and everything but its been at the viper xl loading screen for 10 minutes. Any reason why its doing this?
Do you have hboot 1.14? And did you factory reset
Yes and Yes
You still have the zip on your computer right? So I guess we're going to have to fastboot the boot.img which is very simple I'll give you a quick tutorial in a sec

Flashing boot img through fastboot...
download the file in the link which above which will include adb and fastboot....put that on your computer somewhere you can find it.. now take the boot image out of the Rom zip and place it in that folder... Boot your phone into bootloader scroll down and select fastboot and now open a command prompt with in the fastbootbadb folder on your comp and type to command without the quotes "fastboot flash boot boot.img"
I extract the fastboot folder right? I did that and its "saying waiting for device".
Install the drivers
Sorry but where do i find those?
Alright i think i did it right it said finish in the command prop. Now what do i do?

If you have adb/fastboot installed, have a copy if the rom on your phone and also the computer for less confusion. On your computer, extract to rom and copy the boot.img INSIDE your adb/fastboot folder.
Enter boot loader on your phone, (white screen 3 skating droids). Make sure it says fast boot usb. Run a simple command like "fastboot devices" and see if something shows up. If so, proceed. If not, restart computer or make sure drivers are installed.
On your computer, right click on the adb folder and choose "open command prompt here" in the cmd window type->
Fastboot flash boot boot.img
Upon success, immediately boot into recovery (twrp) and flash (install) the entire rom.
Profit

Hi there!
I just had a go at flashing my new HTC One M8, and I'm stuck in recovery mode.
I followed these instructions:
androidcentral.us/2014/04/root-att-htc-one-m8/
But got the TWRP file from here because the original link was overloaded:
androidfiles.org/?developer=M8&folder=Recoveries
I essentially just ran:
Code:
fastboot-mac erase
cachefastboot-mac
flash boot recovery.img
fastboot-mac reboot
Then installed the SuperSU update zip. Now every time I try reboot into the Android system, it boots into recovery mode. If I boot into the bootloader, I get the option to boot using fastboot but that appears to fail (it returns me to the bootloader after a second). If I select hboot, it says "No image or wrong image!" after trying to load a .nbh file.
Any ideas?
BTW, I got the unlocked version from Amazon: amazon.com/HTC-One-M8-Unlocked-Warranty/dp/B00J3554KE/

you flashed recovery to kernel partition! The guide is wrong as i read.
To flash recovery:
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
fastboot erase cache
fastboot reboot-bootloader
BUT you will also need to flash the kernel again as you just messed it up!
Ouch! Ok, that sucks that steps I was following were wrong. :/ But at least I feel less like an idiot.
So I found a boot.img from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=51580259 and flashed that. Now I'm not returning to the recovery screen, but to the bootloader always and it gives the same message about wrong image.
Here are the commands I ran:
Code:
./fastboot-mac erase cache
./fastboot-mac flash boot boot.img
./fastboot-mac flash recovery Recovery.img
./fastboot-mac reboot

Have you installed adb on your laptop? BTW are you using a apple mac?
Download this rom please --> LINK
The rom includes stock kerne. Just download it and we'll try to flash just the included kernel file as it should get your device back working.
Otherwise you'll have to flash full rom via twrp.
Please tell me when your download is ready. And this time do yourself a favor and DON'T act on your own as long as you don't know what you're doing...

fella something is wrong , the twrp is a image file its not a program .
Phone will be fine again
I've been trying to set up twrp all day, but after almost every attempt, I gave up. If i put official and last twrp, the phone goes to bootloop and has to be flashed through MiFlash global ROM, after some custom twrp or Peter's twrp, nothing happens, if i try to enter recovery mode after some old twrp's, the phone automatically goes to bootloop.
What am I doing wrong, friends? Plz help.

And again not one time
I don't really understand asking you not to rebooting the device until I flash twrp. My steps: If I'm flashing through MiFlash, then the device automatically reboots, I tried to enter fastboot mode at the moment of reboot, and yeah I entered and flashed recovery(at least seems like that), but then when the device rebooted manually , again I see that there is not a custom recovery, maybe I missed something and your devices do not do automatic reboot during the flashing, or your instructions are wrong. Sorry man.
