Hello,
I am using the ROM Virtuous Inquisition and Nova Launcher with it. Every time i restart the phone or power it off it resets the home-screen to the default look removing all my icons on the home screen and the launcher bar.
This is very annoying and this post is my last resort or i am loading a new ROM.
I am using the latest Nova Launcher and the latest build of Virtuous Inquisition. My phone is a HTC Sensation.
Thanks in advance
That had actually happened to me after I had installed the new Sebastian kernel. Nova went back to defaults, my homescreens were lost. However I had been making backups of Nova launcher homescreens in Nova, so I just did a restore of my latest backup.
But I wasn't losing them on every boot. Maybe try clearing you cache/dalvik in recovery to see if Nova will stick. Lastly you can always try the other popular ICS launcher(can't think of the name right now), and see if that sticks after reboots.

Agree with previous poster. Clear the caches first. But if that doesn't work re-download the file, backup, *SUPER WIPE*, and flash again. That happened to me the first time I installed it, but then stopped without me doing anything.

I just flashed Serendipity yesterday and everything went fine. Launcherpro worked off the bat from the Titanium backup. Then suddenly, I lost all my homescreens, it went back to stock. Luckily, I had a backup on my PC. I tried to restore it but what came out was launcherpro's retarded brother. My homescreens are moved one row down so I can only see the edge of my bottom row, I only have 3 screens out of 5, and it won't let me change anything, it just goes back to the deformed version. Anyone have similar problems and know how to fix them?
Thanks in advance
Sounds like you restored twice... you had launcher pro installed already but it reverted back to the stock launcher because you didnt set a default launcher. My best advice would be to remove launcher pro via titanium then go ahead and recover it again.

Hmm I'll try that if it crashes again. I fixed it by restoring it with Titanium backup. thanks anyway!
I rooted my g2x and froze a bunch of apps including the stock launcher and the stock keyboard (installed golauncher and swiftkey x beta). Just recently I've been getting the wifi disabled problem even though I've had the phone for almost two months now. So, I decided to factory reset my device to see if that would help. The problem is that the stock keyboard and launcher didn't unfreeze with the reset and I can't re-setup my phone. Any suggestions?
Thanks!
Err.. did you do a nandroid backup before? I made the mistake of freezing the launcher before I had reinstalled a different one... bad news... wiped and reflashed and it was fine... you said yours stayed frozen? That is no good... hopefully you have a backup from before stuff was frozen...

You can dload the stock nandroids from the dev section and flash those, they are complete backups of factory rom.
G2X
Thanks! I'll give it a go.
I recently rooted my phone, installed CWM and eventually flashed my phone with Audiophile 1.7. After experiencing problems with the TW constantly FC'ing, I wiped everything and flashed back to my original rom. Now when the phone starts, I have the "ANDROID" word that flashes on top of my stock start up logo? Anyone know how to wipe that off or get rid of it?
I was going to re-flash the 1.7, but see a 2.0 is coming out. So, I will wait. I also installed the boot animation found here... http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1080426 but still have the same issue.
its because you have 2 boot animations running. delete the one in /system/bin
to fix your tw problems, try wiping the cache, dalvik cache and fixing permissions. once you do that, install another launcher, like zeam launcher or launcher pro, and i hear that should make tw work again.
Worked like a charm....thanks!

I tried all of that and then installed a new launcher, after reinstalling 1.7 again. I once again wiped all and fixed permissions, but then the power button, every 9th time I would use it to put my phone to sleep, it would fc and reset the phone without going through the reboot sequence. I have since went back to the original rom and will wait for 2.0.
But once again, thanks!
Hmm. Try to start fresh. Odin to kc1. Format sd card. Flash ext4 converter, flash the rom, and reboot and let it sit for 10 min. Then check it out.

Hi all,
I can't post in the Desire S Development forum yet, so I might as well ask the question here.
I've been trying in vain to use CM on my Desire S (one of the major reasons why I wanted to root my phone). I'm able to use it for a while, but after a time, such as installing all my apps, it would hang on me and the only way to fix it is to remove the battery. At first, I thought it would be due to the Go Launcher EX, but it hanged when using ADW too. Then I thought that perhaps restoring the system data were the culprit, but I still got the same dilemma when I didn't. I then started restoring the apps one by one (using Titanium Backup) but it seems that it hangs at random.
I really want to use CM but I can't Has anyone encountered this problem? Anyone knows how to correct it?
Thanks in advance guys
Complete wipe all partition then reflash. Double check your phone's current HBOOT, RADIO, KERNEL if it is supported.
I have had CM7.1 working perfectly on my Desire S for weeks and I used Titanium Backup to restore previous apps and data.
The questions I would ask are which version of CM? 'Stable' or one of the nightlies? Have you formatted all your partitions to EXT4 first? What recovery are you using - shouldn't matter, but might be relevant if it's failing to write something properly. Did you verify the checksum after you downloaded CM7.1? Have you installed anything else from recovery mode afterwards, such as GAPPS? What happens if you install CM and just try running your Desire as a phone for a few days, using only the built-in apps - does it still hang?
Also, when it does hang, you are much better off trying to 'soft' kill it rather than pulling the battery if you possibly can - hold 'Vol -', 'Vol +' and 'Power' for maybe as long as 30 seconds to see if that works; pulling the battery can cause serious hardware failure.
Stable!
Nightlies are for experimentals only

well i have no issue at all.
No issues here either, also used TB to restore apps.
Don't restore any sense system apps or data, I imagine that could cause problems.

Thanks for the replies guys I'm using the ROM Manager app to dl and install CM. I always use the stable build. The recovery I use is 4ext. Kernel is stock, I think. The one that comes with the LBC mod, which is the one I'm currently using. How do I check for the radio? Oh and what radio and kernel are you guys using?
doesn't have hang issue....but my desire s did shut down by itself. It can be on again by pressing the power button but still it annoys me twice this week.
p/s : using cm7.1 stable release
BTW, here's my radio: 20.28b.30.0805U_38.03.02.15_M
How do I check compatibilities?
the radio perform same as in sense rom, i use radio as at my sig and its perform well.
Just an update:
I think I found the app that's making all the bollocks. I was using File Organizer to create labels and custom folders.
At first, I spend the whole time yesterday rebooting/restoring the ROM and found that problems arise when I started placing Folder Organizer widgets. Today, I restored the ROM again and instead used Go Launcher EX to create custom folders for the Home Screen. So far so good, it's just as snappy as the time I just installed CM. It's crappy that I'm no longer able to use one of the apps I paid for, but it's worth it because of all the ROMs (stock and custom) that I encountered, CM is the snappiest and the best
I'll still monitor the progress, but so far, it hasn't hang on me. Before uninstalling Folder Organizer, it would usually take around a minute before it hangs completely, and the soft reset (Power + Volume Down) doesn't work when that happens
I tried searching and couldn't find much info, other then phone rebooting when in sleep, or for rooted phones so any help is appreciated!
Two days ago my gyroscope started giving problem, it would up be on landscape mode for the notification bar or anything that can use landscape, this is with the phone calibrated properly and the phone being upright! now whenever the phone give this issue it reboots, yesterday it happened thrice!
Should i send it to verizon to fix? or could i fix it myself?
So are you stock, rooted stock, running a rom?

What launcher are you using? Try clearing the cache and possibly data for your launcher (and the stock launcher even if you arnt using it). Remember clearing data for the launcher ill wipe your home screen setup (icon and widget placement, nothing to important). If that doesnt work I think the only thing you can try is a factory reset. Verizon will make you do that anyway.
