I just flashed Serendipity yesterday and everything went fine. Launcherpro worked off the bat from the Titanium backup. Then suddenly, I lost all my homescreens, it went back to stock. Luckily, I had a backup on my PC. I tried to restore it but what came out was launcherpro's retarded brother. My homescreens are moved one row down so I can only see the edge of my bottom row, I only have 3 screens out of 5, and it won't let me change anything, it just goes back to the deformed version. Anyone have similar problems and know how to fix them?
Thanks in advance
Sounds like you restored twice... you had launcher pro installed already but it reverted back to the stock launcher because you didnt set a default launcher. My best advice would be to remove launcher pro via titanium then go ahead and recover it again.

Long time lurker, but i dont think i have posted before...so sorry if this is on the wrong place/already been answered, if that is the case i would love be be redirected to where i should go.
Anyways, after updating this morning, everything worked fine other that some occasion lag. But when i opened up handcent, it was just a black screen. so i reinstalled it, and still no dice. the default messaging app had the same problem. If someone texted me i wouldnt get it, and there was no way for me to send out a text. then, when my battery went down to red, all of a sudden it worked like normal. i was able to charge it and even when the battery was full it still worked. However, when i reset my phone, it stopped working again, and resumed working when my battery got to red. Im pretty sure those are the only symptoms i noticed...Any ideas on what is going on/what i can do to remedy it?
And fyi, i was rooted before the upgrade and have rooted since. I had oclf, but disabled it before i upgraded.
Shameless bump, I really need help
Only thing I can think of is a bad install of the update. I would suggest going back to 2.1 using odin and then reinstalling the froyo update

So step one of http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=884364
Then follow the installation of 2.2 as samsungs website outlines? Would that require me to restore all of my apps and settings from tibu again?
Thanks

Yea if you are going to flash back to odin you will need to back up all user apps using titanium backup. Make sure you do not restore any system apps though as that can cause problems. Also you will lose your texts so I would recommend backing them up. I use sms backup+

My friend had the same problem and had to go back to 2.1 and re-install the update and then it worked. Seems like the update didn't install correctly on a handful of Captivates.
okay so i still haven't done this because of how long restoring everything with tibu takes, but if I am gonna have to go through this process again, should i just make my first venture into flashing a custom rom? Am i correct in thinking that flashing wont be messed up because of the current glitch i have because it all reverts back to stock as the first step anyways?
I rooted my g2x and froze a bunch of apps including the stock launcher and the stock keyboard (installed golauncher and swiftkey x beta). Just recently I've been getting the wifi disabled problem even though I've had the phone for almost two months now. So, I decided to factory reset my device to see if that would help. The problem is that the stock keyboard and launcher didn't unfreeze with the reset and I can't re-setup my phone. Any suggestions?
Thanks!
Err.. did you do a nandroid backup before? I made the mistake of freezing the launcher before I had reinstalled a different one... bad news... wiped and reflashed and it was fine... you said yours stayed frozen? That is no good... hopefully you have a backup from before stuff was frozen...

You can dload the stock nandroids from the dev section and flash those, they are complete backups of factory rom.
G2X
Thanks! I'll give it a go.
Hi and thanks for reading -
I rooted my skyrocket and removed a handful of apps using titanium pro, including stock messaging, web, media player and some other things. After factory reset, I noticed those apps are still removed. I tried to restore them using titanium pro and I waited a good 45 minutes for the messaging app to restore and nothing happened, so I'm thinking something is wrong. I'd like to restore my phone to default settings, including all installed apps (as if I just bought it). Can someone point me in the direction of how this can be done? As I understand it, I need to install a custom ROM. I would also be willing to experiment with ICS releases for this device.
Any advice is appreciated
Cheers
Jesse

Yep, once you uninstall the app, it's gone.
For next time, here are a couple of tips.
1) Instead of using Titanium to uninstall an app, use the "freeze" function. Then use the phone a couple weeks and if all is golden, then go ahead and uninstall the app.
2) Always make a nandroid backup before doing anything crazy.

GO here you can download the official att rom. If you do the counter reset then flash this rom it will put your device back to stock. This wont trigger the counter. You will have to create an account hope this helps

What's a counter? Thanks for all the replies! I'm currently trying to get ICS to work on the skyrocket, but it was laggy, so I'm thinking about going for the stock after all.

The flash counter, it keeps track so Samsung knows how many times you've been naughty.
I flashed mine back to stock with help. My older thread is here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1582357
Follow the process and everything will be back to stock. Also, after first boot. Shutdown and then bring up the recovery menu. Preform a factory reset.

Hello,
I am using the ROM Virtuous Inquisition and Nova Launcher with it. Every time i restart the phone or power it off it resets the home-screen to the default look removing all my icons on the home screen and the launcher bar.
This is very annoying and this post is my last resort or i am loading a new ROM.
I am using the latest Nova Launcher and the latest build of Virtuous Inquisition. My phone is a HTC Sensation.
Thanks in advance
That had actually happened to me after I had installed the new Sebastian kernel. Nova went back to defaults, my homescreens were lost. However I had been making backups of Nova launcher homescreens in Nova, so I just did a restore of my latest backup.
But I wasn't losing them on every boot. Maybe try clearing you cache/dalvik in recovery to see if Nova will stick. Lastly you can always try the other popular ICS launcher(can't think of the name right now), and see if that sticks after reboots.

Agree with previous poster. Clear the caches first. But if that doesn't work re-download the file, backup, *SUPER WIPE*, and flash again. That happened to me the first time I installed it, but then stopped without me doing anything.
Hey people. I am running CM10 with apex launcher pro on my skyrocket. I was wondering, when I update my phone for the next nightly, is there any way I could have the transparent contacts and messaging without having to push install it and not have to keep restoring it? I tried backing it up with Titanium but when it restores the apps after flashing the next nightly, it goes back to the original non-transparent contacts/messaging. Thanks for any help and I am sorry if there is anything wrong with this thread.
