Wierd batteryproblem - HTC Sensation

When I get to about 10% left, the phone suddenly says that there's 1% left, and turns off. Im on ARHD with faux 004. Tried the 005, but same problem there. The problem happens with both the Anker 1900 and EVO 3D battery, so its not the battery that's failed.
Tnx guys!

Yeah I have that issue too.. The thing is battery is not properly calibrated.. Also you can see that once you charge your device with that 1% left within 2 minutes you'll see that battery is 12-15 % charged.. Which is not possible
Also once you got 100% you'll have 100% even after 1 hour of usage.. That's how it works in my case with anker battery

You need to properly calibrate the battery. To do this go to the play store and download an app called "current widget". This is a widget that will tell you the physical mah values of your battery, in other words, how much juice you have left when your phone is not charging. Make a widget in your home screen and put the phone to charge, when its plugged in the widget will tell you how much mah of charge is needed to be 100 % full. Do not disconnect the phone when the led light turns green as it is not yet fully charged. You can see that when the light turns green that the mah values have not reached "0" So when the mah values reach to "0" or somewhere near 0 (<10), your phone is 100% charged. At this time, with the phone still plugged in go to the recovery menu or another app that can "wipe the battery stats" and reboot the phone. Your battery is now successfully calibrated and should fix your battery % issues.

Yeah, same as me then. But the battery is calibrated as oneonesix says, so its a bit wierd.

[Q] Battery Lag?

Hey guys, I have a problem with my Sensation. Whenever I fully charge it and then remove it from the charger, use it for like an hour or two, the phone still thinks the battery is 100% charged. When looking inside the battery usage, it shows the graph with 0s underneath it, while in the previous screen where you see the apps battery usage it says 2h 5m 13s or something like that.
This wouldn't really be a problem, but when I started up Maps Navigation and plugged the charger in the car, it wouldn't charge because it still assumed the battery was 100% charged!
Any of you also having this problem? Thanks in advance!

Does it stay 100% forever? Then you may have the inexhaustible battery... (not sure if this is grammaticaly correct )
I wouldn't consider this a problem. You can download a battery monitoring app from the market and see what's going on with your phone and if the 100% that it's rerporting is correct. Also, check that the battery contacts are clean.
Not sure my phone does that but it can be on half charge then when I reset phone it's gone up a notch. This morning it didn't look like it had charged although it had been plugged in. When I switched it was on orange then it did the charging animation for a few seconds without charger plugged in then stopped on full. Odd.
Mine stays on 100% for a couple of hours too, has done since I got it.
I think perhaps HTC are "cheating" (or using "creative coding", whichever expression you prefer) in the way they report the battery percentage. Make the battery appear better than it is. Just a theory, of course.

That happens to me a lot too. Woke up this morning, phone had been charging for nearly 5 hours, but was only on 82%. After a couple of minutes of the screen being on, it had leapt to 100% and stopped charging.
Also, once the battery is below about 20%, it will sometimes drop 2-3% at a time. Odd.
Looks like they totally screwed the battery meter hardware or something in the software. Remembers me of my iPod touch
Experienced the say.. hopefully either it will auto be fine due to charge cycle or via updates

The Battery driver that LG used for the G2X has the same problem,a simple reboot fixes it,hope this helps "temporarily" that is.Cheers
Not just the sensation - my wildfire does the same yet my galaxy tab doesnt

Thanks for your answer, so it's probably a general problem that may be fixed by either HTC or the Cooks that make ROM's for our beautiful new phones
Can you tell me how long it takes for your phone to fully charge? My phone needs 3-4 hours to fully charge..is this normal?!
Hmm mine doesn`t lag but it takes times to charge. Usually with my hd2 take around less than 2 hours to fully charge now with sensation around 3 hours

I received my phone yesterday and charged it for 4-5 hours throughout the day. Last night it was close to 100% while I was playing with it (off the charger). I then charged it over night for 9 hours. This morning the battery says it's at 50% but has 15 hours left.
Weird :\
Charge the battery with the power turned off overnight, in the morning unplug the charger, turn the phone on, and shutdown again, and plug the charger back for 30
mins phone still turned off. After that start using the phone normally, this way you calibrate the phones battery meter properly.

Waited for the battety to drain completely then from cwm i deleted the battery stats bin
Left the phone overnight to charge
At 100% cutrent widget is reading 4206 mv
After unpluging from power by 15 min battery reads 100% still but 4039 ma
Pluged it back to power battery jumped to 4150 ma instantely

Current widget will not measure the ma correctly on the sensation. You will need to use battery monitor widget and set sensation in the settings. As far as i know battery monitor widget is the only one that will measure the ma correctly. I thought my phone had gone mad as well when i was using current widget until i found out the above info. hope this helps. There is a forum on xda for battery monitor widget somewhere. It's free on the market
well i tried: battery status, elixir and current widget the 3 give the same result, anyhow am trying battery monitor to check
but usually is that a normal behavior ?

could explain what ur are observing
Hey, (first Post )
I noticed that too (got a 1900 Anker). I Think, when you plug in the charger, Current Widget shows you how much V or A the battery gets from the charger. When disconnect the charger the widget shows you how much is left.. Just thinking

[Q] how do you calibrate battery?

I'm reading some guides and posts about battery calibration...
I'm trying to do it with battery calibration apk, but I can't understand when battery is really full even if I use current widget (it stucks at 10mv, it does not come down to 0).
how do you calibrate?
Do wipe status as long as u riched this value as a maximum. .. restart. .. let it with out charging till it gets to 1% then charge it again till 100% do that a couple of times ur battery should be calibrated for good; )

To know when its fully charged you need to be watching ma not mv. As ma is the flow of electricity that your battery is currently receiving, as long as your phone is on it will not hit 0 as your phone will still be consuming battery so it will always sit between 10 and 20ma when fully charged. As long as your happy its sat around that mark for a few minutes then its charged. But best way to calibrate in my opinion, is to just discharge to 5% and charge overnight. Wiping battery stats does nothing as your phone creates a new battery stats file on its own after every full charge and battery stats.bin only contains information of what's been using your battery like in the settings menu. This has been confirmed on xda portal by a Google software engineer.
Your phone is clever enough to figure out what charge your battery has by measuring amps and volts once its been discharged and charged a couple times as by then it will have a established the minimum and maximum mv your battery can hold and battery stats file does not hold this information.

crazy batt drain

My battery is draining 890ma~1000ma when screen on.. even the charger cannot keep up
Now as i type, battery dropping.2% every 1min or so. Just 30mins use, battery is already at 48% .
But if screen off, the drain is like 2ma. I cant brain whats up with my phone
The battery itself could be going bad.
What do the battery stats show as the biggest user? And is there a wake lock that's keeping the phone on and spun up at full speed at all times?
Try using 'Badass Battery monitor' from the market. It would point to battery eating evilness.

Problem with battery

I bought an Anker battery and I'm having some issues. Battery was like half full and I was playing some game and suddenly phone switched off, without any battery level warning . Tried to turn on but it didn't. So then I put it charging and the orange light started blinking and phone wouldn't turn on. Then, I waited 5 minutes and the orange light stopped blinking and stayed light up. After booting I went to power settings and saw that battery was 30%.
What can be the problem? I never had this problem before I replaced the battery for the Anker one, last Friday. Stock one was really dying.
EDIT. Now it says 15%. How did it went so down and so fast? Do I need to calibrate the battery as it is just couple days old? If yes, how?
