Problem with battery - HTC Sensation

I bought an Anker battery and I'm having some issues. Battery was like half full and I was playing some game and suddenly phone switched off, without any battery level warning . Tried to turn on but it didn't. So then I put it charging and the orange light started blinking and phone wouldn't turn on. Then, I waited 5 minutes and the orange light stopped blinking and stayed light up. After booting I went to power settings and saw that battery was 30%.
What can be the problem? I never had this problem before I replaced the battery for the Anker one, last Friday. Stock one was really dying.
EDIT. Now it says 15%. How did it went so down and so fast? Do I need to calibrate the battery as it is just couple days old? If yes, how?

tips to phone charging

i made this post because people might be wondering about how to charge their phones.
(i say these things from experience so if different for anyone then let me know)
make it a habit not to charger until its at least 15% or less. i always charged my g1 and left it plugged in even at 100 and after weeks the battery life went to hell. i went through 3 batteries that way.
Also try not to use the phone while its charging. i cant really explain what the hell causes that but i know from experience of two other phones that the phone overheats and messes up the battery. so that means avoid over-night charging. i charge mine either before i go to sleep of first thing when i wake up.
also when ur charging ur phone, DO NOT put it under anything, like between a pillow the bed. ur phone will overheat like to the point of too hot to touch. also from experience.
Thanks man, that why my old battery started die'n so fast

I normally do this to calibrate battery:
1. Charge to 100 % with phone on
2. Unplug and turn off
3. Charge to 100% when off (i normally leave it for 10-15 minutes)
4. Then unplug, turn it on, then after fully booted turn it back off
5. put it back on charger till it fully charges again
6. boot into recovery and wipe battery stats
now use your phone as normally and give it 3-4 full charge cycles till the battery is properly calibrated.
Battery calibration is a app on the market. Check it out! It saves you from having to go into recovery and wiping battery stats

i follow all of this and i usually get around 20 hours of battery life. and ive only calibrated my battery once.

Strange battery event after complete drain

Last night I did something that may have been stupid. After my phone shut down on low battery, I restarted it twice following successive shutdowns. I did this to ensure the battery was completely drained because battery life has been noticeably shorter lately. After plugging into the charger, the phone did not begin charging and would not power on. I had to do a battery pull to get things working again. Is this a normal side effect of my ignorant action in draining the battery?
Unrooted, stock other than a few mainstream apps.

Yes this can be considered normal. There has to be enough battery for the phone to switch into charging mode and it appears you didn't have enough

Thanks. That makes sense.

anker battery and battery stats

Hello and good weekend all!
I received a week ago an 1900 anker battery. After I charged it till 100% + about two hours I wiped battery stats and till now already did more than 5 full charge cycles but still when I reboot my phone the precentage drops about 10% (every cycle)

anyone? =\
Rebooting always drain the battery sometimes by a lot more than 10 %. Powering off and then turning on the phone again has a lesser impact in the battery.

the problem is that because of this my phone shuts down suddenly instead of regular "shutting down" process

Wierd batteryproblem

When I get to about 10% left, the phone suddenly says that there's 1% left, and turns off. Im on ARHD with faux 004. Tried the 005, but same problem there. The problem happens with both the Anker 1900 and EVO 3D battery, so its not the battery that's failed.
Tnx guys!

Yeah I have that issue too.. The thing is battery is not properly calibrated.. Also you can see that once you charge your device with that 1% left within 2 minutes you'll see that battery is 12-15 % charged.. Which is not possible
Also once you got 100% you'll have 100% even after 1 hour of usage.. That's how it works in my case with anker battery

You need to properly calibrate the battery. To do this go to the play store and download an app called "current widget". This is a widget that will tell you the physical mah values of your battery, in other words, how much juice you have left when your phone is not charging. Make a widget in your home screen and put the phone to charge, when its plugged in the widget will tell you how much mah of charge is needed to be 100 % full. Do not disconnect the phone when the led light turns green as it is not yet fully charged. You can see that when the light turns green that the mah values have not reached "0" So when the mah values reach to "0" or somewhere near 0 (<10), your phone is 100% charged. At this time, with the phone still plugged in go to the recovery menu or another app that can "wipe the battery stats" and reboot the phone. Your battery is now successfully calibrated and should fix your battery % issues.
Yeah, same as me then. But the battery is calibrated as oneonesix says, so its a bit wierd.

Batery

I bought a 2200 mah battery and sometimes when I reboot phone my battery percentage goes up.I calibrated battery after I installed last version of viperS.what can I do?
Sent from my HTC Sensation Z710e using xda app-developers app
I believe this is quite normal. It also happens to me then it goes back to reporting correct percent. I'm running a 3800mah battery. I think it happens to us all. At first it shows a higher percent then it goes back to normal. Hope this helps. Best wishes.
