Strange sensatipn battety behavior - HTC Sensation

Have a sensation 4G yrsterday i exchanged the stock 1540 mah battery with the xe 1730 mah battery
Waited for the battety to drain completely then from cwm i deleted the battery stats bin
Left the phone overnight to charge
At 100% cutrent widget is reading 4206 mv
After unpluging from power by 15 min battery reads 100% still but 4039 ma
Pluged it back to power battery jumped to 4150 ma instantely
Is that normal ?

Current widget will not measure the ma correctly on the sensation. You will need to use battery monitor widget and set sensation in the settings. As far as i know battery monitor widget is the only one that will measure the ma correctly. I thought my phone had gone mad as well when i was using current widget until i found out the above info. hope this helps. There is a forum on xda for battery monitor widget somewhere. It's free on the market

well i tried: battery status, elixir and current widget the 3 give the same result, anyhow am trying battery monitor to check
but usually is that a normal behavior ?

read this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=871051
could explain what ur are observing

Hey, (first Post )
I noticed that too (got a 1900 Anker). I Think, when you plug in the charger, Current Widget shows you how much V or A the battery gets from the charger. When disconnect the charger the widget shows you how much is left.. Just thinking

[Q] Mugen Battery is not detected correctly, need help!

Hey!
I have a big problem.
In my HTC Desire S, I use a MugenPowerBattery with 1800 mAh. But the Battery Monitor Widget tells me, that it can only be charged up to 1450 mAh (capazity of the default battery from HTC). What can I do, that the phone let the battery charge up to 1800 mAh?
(And sorry for my bad english ;p)
firstly i dont think the reading within the widget is accurate as the widget doesnt charge the phone i think that the battery understands when its at full capacity and stops charging so to speak so even though the widget tells you 1450 you actually have 1800 if you recalibrate the battery with proper instructions. The widget is for "monitoring" and nothing else i think.
Secondly you can manually tell battery monitor widget in the settings that your battery is 1800mah and not 1450.

Do you have S-off? If so you can go into recovery and reset batt stats. When your rom next boots up the phone calibrate the battery as a new battery.

[Q] New battery calibration.

Hello!
I've read many battery calibration threads. There are many methods and many ways to do it. So I am a little confused.
I am now on Stock battery with Revolution HD rom.
My Anker battery arrives on monday and I am preparing for it's use. To get the most juice out of it, I have to calibrate it.
My friend bought the ChiChitec 1950 and runed it down completely and then charged fully. In the Battery Monitor Widget it doesn't say that the battery capacity is more or less than the stock - shows 1530. Which means, the widget is showing wrong because the battery is different.
I do not want this problem.
I've read that you need to fully charge/discharge the new battery a few times first. So I have a few questions:
1) Which is it first: Charge or discharge? Puting the battery in, do I discharge till 0 or do I charge it to 100?
2) Is it better to charge it turned off or on - for the first time?
3) When to wipe battery stats: When at 100% or almost no charge?
4) Which calibration method for a new battery works for you?
I'll be greatly appreciate some help here. Thanks in advance. [:
The official response regarding battery calibration from HTC was:
1) Turn your device ON and Charge the device for 8 hours or more
2) Unplug the device and Turn the phone OFF and charge for 1 hour
3) Unplug the device Turn ON wait 2 minutes and Turn OFF and charge for another hour

Although that was during the EVO 4G days.
Here's the original thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=712990
So, I did everything as said in that post [ battery - amazing for now ].
Umm, the only problem is what I feared. The Battery Monitor Widget still says that it's 1580 not more. How to fix that, does anybdy know this?
I do know that u only wipe battery stats when it is at full charge

One thing I feel I should add to this thread that I've read elsewhere is that discharging the battery completely is not good for it.
I got the two chichitec batteries with the wall charger about a month ago. I've labelled these #1 and #2. After a few discharges I noticed #2 drained a lot faster. I thought something was wrong with my phone, but #1 holds its charge much longer and better.
My only reasoning is that it's been discharged less. But this could be a coincidence and just a bad battery for all I know.
There is a setting to manually overwrite the mAh on battery monitor pro widget.

That mah reading is default for sensation
Yes, found the manual override. Much better.
Well. I think my Anker today drained a little bit too fast, so I will not dishcarge it completely again. Will test for a while.

Anker Battery?

Hi with an anker battery do you have to take the battery out of the phone each time to charge it? I saw it came with a battery charger where you insert battery into charger.
Can it still be charged normally thru the phones micro usb port? I don't want to have to take my phone battery out at all once installed but was looking into 1900mah battery.
It can charge like the normal battery or you can use it the other way with the wall charger. I just leave mine in my phone and charge it that way. Keep in mind that the anker says 1900mah but you actually get 1740mah which you can get from the evo 3d battery and that one has a sensor unlike the anker one.
Link to the evo 3d battery. Just giving you options buddy

I have the Anker also, I'm at my seconde charging cycle now and can already say that battery life improved a lot! I'm almost 24h on battery now, 8 hours airplane mode but 16 hours WiFi/mobile data on, autosync enabled, moderate usage (screen on ~3 hours).
what should i say - still 43% juice remaining and still potential, cause you need about 5 cycles before you can really say what's going on.
Also it never got hot, did use micro-usb charging... So - Anker rulez
Do anker sells in single battery? Most offers comes with 2 battery and a charger
An example
Has anyone tried both the Anker and the Evo 3D battery and compared these two?

It's because it only reads what phone it is to get capacity not the battery itself.

so it is. in my opinion the anker battery is much better than the original and i could charge it like the "normal" battery
Works very well with me.. I have it fire last 2 Weeks and it gives 25% extra time and doesn't get hot like stock one...
I charge it in my phone...
It's worth getting the two battery and charger combo. My battery life has dropped quite a bit after 3 months on the anker, but it's still better than stock by a landslide.
If you get either the anker or evo 3d battery you need a good kernel to pair it up for max performance. Don't expect to play games for 11hour straight and then complain about battery lasting only 5 hrs. I have the anker and i get at least 9 hrs of usage on heavy usage and 16 hrs on medium usage. I would at this point go with the evo 3d battery because it's directly from htc and hell it's cheap why not?!

Bat Monitor Widget defaults to 1580mah you can set it to any amount in settings. Its not a true refection of the battery capacity.
I just ordered mine but did not get the charger. Have you tried charging again to replicate the heating issue?
I guess i did something wrong with my anker.
battery monitor widget is only measuring about 1200 mAh. It measured 1540 on the stock. I'm on 6th cycle or so. For sure more than 5...
Any Idear?
Have you let it completely die out and then charged it? What's your usage like? If I play games on my phone nonstop then I'll get only 6hours but if i just text, answer a couple calls and Google search something I'll get 12-19 hours.

I would like to know this also.

Battery taking long to get to 100%

Why does my Desire S take more than 2 hours to charge from 75% to 100%?
It gets to 75% quick enough...
Use some battery calibration tool from the Market once at 100 %. It should fix this
I have this exact same problem and have tried calibrating, charges to 70-80% really quickly then takes ages to charge every one per cent after that and battery monitor widget says I'm on ~4200mv already. Maybe the calibration isn't working but I've tried the calibration app and the deleting stats in recovery method. Not sure what next.
Sorry for partial thread hijack!!

Did u check
could be a problem with your charger? or power supply
Thanks for the info guys, I am not rooted, can I still wipe battery stats?
Also some Google engineer posted that wiping battery stats doesn't help.
I use my blackberry curve charger with desire S, may be I will try to use official charger....
Will post the time it takes once I have the stats...
Swyped from my Desire S
It can be your Battery issue? Still under warranty? get it replaced xD
sometimes the charger you are using isnt made to charge the battery. meaning if you are charging thru a different charger it might take longer. or it can be that your battery is weak if the 75% gets chrrged quick
Stats
Stats collected using HTC Desire S charger...

suku_patel_22 any luck in resolving ur issue? or is it a faulty charger/battery? now is about 2.30am, started charging my phone since around 10/10.30pm. Had 2 htc charger, both giving me the same charge rate(coincidence?). Gonna try charging using usb via computer tomorrow to determine is it the charger that is at fault(if it charged faster on the computer).
-----------------(edit 1)-----------------
been reading, one post( i know shouldn't have stop searching after see-ing the 1st post that pop up in google) someone mention it is a rom related problem? but like many post in q&a the op just disappears.

Poor Anker 1900 performance?

I've got the anker 1900 but I'm dissatisfied. It lasts as long as the stock 1580 or maybe less...
I dunno whether it's bad luck or not, but something is wrong.
1) In battery widget the reported mAh is 1580, isn't it supposed to be auto detected correctly 1900?
2) I've wiped batterystats, and recharged it fully, but i.e. today the phone lasted only from 10.00 till now. Do I have to give it more recharghing cycles before to judge it?
What do you think?

Depends on usage, the way I use it - that would be a good amount of capacity.
Did u do 3 full discharge and charge.

I bought iy on ebay from an irish seller. And I've still not completed 3 full cycles.
But what about the reported mah?
Did you have to set manually the mah as well?
And I'm experiencing strange behavior with the reported left charge. It stayes at 100% long, and then it start lowering the % much faster.

Might be a faulty battery perhaps you have warranty ? I bough it from ebay : laptopmate_usa hes legit and gives 1 year warranty ! Mine stays on 100% long time but starts draining fast until 92 then becomes normal..

Battery monitor widget reports 1580mAh and I have to overwrite the data to 1900, does it happen to you too? Il this normal?
With battery monitor widget, if you go in to "Calibration", then hit "Change", you can enter a different capacity. You don't have to name the battery, although you can if you want. Then the stats should change.
*edit*
I have used battery monitor widget in the past, and had to manually change it to 1900. Although I have not used it lately and don't know if it should automatically adjust the calibration.

I have the anker 1900 too and to quickly see if battery is actually registering as larger than 1500 (ie your battery stats have been adjusted due to calibration or wipe). Charge your sensation to 100% (green light), power down, and if your charging while powered down for my then 5 min or so its still at 1500. (orange light on)
I know it seems obvious but my experience is that my anker battery will always charge full if turned off no matter what rom I'm running.
if the rom isn't reading the battery i'll turn on my sensation and i'll be at 100% charge for a few hours Xp
