Can't receive text messages with Genesis beta v5 and hellfire sandwich - T-Mobile LG G2x

I follow the instructions exactly and can't receive text messages but as soon as I recover my backup for an older rom(tsugi), I receive all the text messages I miss. Any ideas?

Have you tried checking your ril with getril? Not sure what version comes with tsugi, genesis and hfs might be using a different one.

Reflash your ROM. Wiping data or factory reset wont solve this seeing as the apk would have been in /system and not /data

i'll try the apk you gave evilmastr and report back
In Go Sms there is a check box for if you have deleted the stock app and want go sms to do that job. Find it and check it and that should fix you.

Google Voice
Have you tried using the Google Voice app? There is a setting that allows GV to be the default messaging app. I like the GV app better than the stock message app anyway.
I deleted two of my stock app; T-Mobile TV, and EA Games
I deleted those cuz i thought i didn't need them, soon after I restored my phone, which is a T-Mobile LG G2x Android 2.3.4, and then my google app didn't update like the other apps on my phone did. i really don't like that old google app cuz it was for the old version, anyway to get the update?

Don't apply the nandroid. Use the kdz method to install fresh. I did that and have never had this issue.

Not receiving SMS! P999-G2x

Hey guys!
I installed a custom ROM ( ics 4.0.4 hellfire) yesterday and now My G2x cant receive any SMS (But sending text is ok , just receiving ) !
please help me to fix it!
Thanks
Make sure RIL and baseband are matching. You can check using the app GetRIL. Check your apn settings and make sure they're correct. Make sure you have data enabled as you cannot download SMS without it on.

Has anyone successfully exported their SMS and MMS messages from a G2X running Gingerbread to a KitKat phone?
I tried using SMS Backup and Restore and it messed up the dates and did not export images.
Anyone have success with another program?
Thanks!!!

Thanks, but I'd much rather have a local backup than trust Google with it.
