[Q] Exporting SMS & MMS Messages to Another Phone - T-Mobile LG G2x

Has anyone successfully exported their SMS and MMS messages from a G2X running Gingerbread to a KitKat phone?
I tried using SMS Backup and Restore and it messed up the dates and did not export images.
Anyone have success with another program?
Thanks!!!

Thanks, but I'd much rather have a local backup than trust Google with it.

Mms not receiving on t-mobile g2

Hi,
I recently installed handcent on my phone and deleted the original messaging app through titanium backup (thinking i'd backed it up but hadn't).
I can send mms fine but can't receive mms?
Using stock android 2.2
Anyone else had a similar problem?
How would I install original messaging app without a backup?
Any help would be appreciated

[Q] GoSMS Restore missing txts

Hi
I've been trying out the GoSMS Backup and Restore feature for threads. I backed up a thread, deleted it and then restored. I notice that some of the most recent SMS in this thread are not restored.
When I have checked the xml file these SMS are definitely there in the file but are not being restored for some reason? Does anyone have a solution to this?
Cheers
This looks to have been addressed with an update as it worked fine when I tried it again recently.

If u had backed up ur smsm and mms to ur email with an app like sms backup+ now u can restore all , or if u did batch in titanum so u can restore them.

it doesnt answers my question... causes it FC if i restore this to a ICS ROM from a GB Backup with titanium backup?
I did this when moving from Froyo to Gingerbread and it caused FCs for me. In addition there was a weird behaviour of the mms/sms app. Issues like not showing incoming sms etc.
Why do you want to do this btw? "SMS Backup and Restore" works like a charm, especially when moving from Sense-SMS app to stock AOSP.

nice will try thank you, maybe someone else can confirm?
Sounds a little bit weird. It takes me about 3 minutes to restore 3 thousand SMS.
But if the restore of the system point will work for you, it's fine.
were you successful in restoring them?
i just upgrade from a nexus one on CM7 to a samsung s3 (rooted) with ics.
followed this but messages keeps crashing and so i cant seem to get at those sms msgs

Reflash your ROM. Wiping data or factory reset wont solve this seeing as the apk would have been in /system and not /data

i tried reflashing the rom and got the message app back but now when i open the message app this error comes up 'unfortunately messaging has stopped working;
i'll try the apk you gave evilmastr and report back
In Go Sms there is a check box for if you have deleted the stock app and want go sms to do that job. Find it and check it and that should fix you.

Google Voice
Have you tried using the Google Voice app? There is a setting that allows GV to be the default messaging app. I like the GV app better than the stock message app anyway.
I deleted two of my stock app; T-Mobile TV, and EA Games
I deleted those cuz i thought i didn't need them, soon after I restored my phone, which is a T-Mobile LG G2x Android 2.3.4, and then my google app didn't update like the other apps on my phone did. i really don't like that old google app cuz it was for the old version, anyway to get the update?

[HELP] Optimus 3D SMS App

Hello everyone... I am using ported ICS on my O3D with the Dark International ROM v2... I have a problem restoring the SMS backup on my phone the threads are shown like one.. I mean the conversation is separated my messages are in different thread and the other person in new thread.. I think this is app related because my backup was created on GB. Is there any way that I can fix this or I will need the GB SMS app ported (if its possible)??
I am on the same rom and I also made my backup on GB but with sms backup and restore app and now I can't restore them.It gives me an error when I try to restore..

Try rebooting and do the process again. I had the same problem. But anyway it seems that I cant do the backup properly, maybe the GB uses other style from the ICS while reading the threads.. I really have no idea

Well, my solution was a stupid one but it did work...XD
I had around 8000messages and when I tried to restore I always got an error after the first 700-1500messages.After that the phone's internal sms ap crashed and the go sms didn't see the messages so I restarted the phone. After restart the messages were there. When I went to restore again sms backup and restore skipped those messages and restored another 700-1500...So I repeated the proces around 10times and it worked.haha
Now I want to back it up with Titanium Backup just in case but I don't know how..jet.
