I tried to get into CWM recovery to back up my data and flash a new ROM. I shut my transformer off, then held power and vol up and nothing. So I turned my transformer back on and reflashed CWM recovery with ROM manager and told it to flash my new ROM and to perform a nandroid backup. By transformer just reboots instead. Why can I not get into recovery? Is it not power + vol up?
EDIT: I got into recovery with power + voldown, then volup quickly after. It's still messed up how I cannot reach it from ROM Manager though.
Rom manager is bugged for the transformer that is why it does not work. Use Gnufabio's reboot to recovery app

I successfully rooted my 3G XOOM today, installed ClockworkMod Recovery, but can't get into recovery mode! No matter what I do, I get stuck at a screen showing "Entering Android Recovery Mode Reading ODM fuse:1".
I waited for several minutes, and nothing happened. I tried to format th SD card, but didn't work too.
If I manually reset the Xoom, it stars normally and everything works fine.
Did you wait 3 seconds at the Motorola screen and hit volume down and then volume up? Were you able to get in it before?
Yes, i did that, but it gets stuck at that same point. And no, I never tried to enter recovery mode before.
How did you flash recovery the first time. Did you flash or push? Have you tried to push the recovery?
The first time I flashed recovery using the button inside ClockworkMod, and CWM said it went fine.
How can i push recovery? Using adb?
Got it! I don't know what caused the problem, but flashing the newest version of CWM recovery using this guide solved it!
Now I can proceed updating my Xoom to HC 3.1.
what worked for me was volume-down volume-up while holding down the power buttom ( like a shift key )
I'm using the Prime 1.5 ROM and the Clemsyn 17 kernel. I can't remember which method I used to install CWM, but it works. The problem I am having is that while I can boot into recovery from a long press on the power button (up comes a menu from which I can select "recovery"), selecting the reboot into recovery option from within the CWM app only performs a "normal" reboot. Do any of the CWM install methods allow for the app to perform a recovery reboot? TIA
None of the apps that let you boot into recovery works for Honeycomb yet. Your only options are either the shutdown menu mod by Roach or powering down and then pressing power + vol down to get into CWM.
Get the recovery button mod for Prime 1.5.
hi,
I Have a tf101 and I can't get into recovery if I try transformer to recovery from the Marked it just restarts normal.
If I try volume down + power and press vol up it gets stuck on the message booting recovery kernel image.
It is Rooted and I wanted to update rom.
Any Ideas?

Hi,
The power button of my transformer is broken :
I can't power on the device, but I can light on/off the screen.
In order to fix it, I've got to send it to the customer service, but before I need to flash it back to stock.
To flash it I need to go to bootloader or download mode (I dunno what volume+/power is??)
Here is the thing, I did some searches and I tried :
- via adb
- directly from the terminal emulator
- via some widgets with boot mode selection
None of these work, all these methods make the transformer perform a normal reboot.
I'm rooted, and my rom is one of the first ICS beta Revolver.
I just need to flash it back to stock.
Thx in advance.
Reboot into bootloader without power button
Hi fastreward,
It should be possible to boot into recovery from software; for example, I've seen Megatron Parts (for Megatron ROM) boot into recovery after downloading some Plugin.
ROM Manager has an option to reboot into recovery, have you tried it? I think I used one of the options of ROM Manager to update something in my phone (not the ROm nor in my tablet) because it was part of the process, and I believe it rebooted into recovery.
Hope it helps so you can restore your Transformer to STOCK and send it to service.

Vol up + power button get you into APX mode.
(Good only if you're SBK v1 for NVFLash)
If you have CWM recovery, this will boot you into it.

If you have CWM recovery, just download an official firmware from Asus website.
Extract the zip file from within, put it on your sd card (or where ever CWM can see it)
Flash the zip file and once reboot you'll be unroot with stock recovery.
(Wipe data, cache and dalvik cache before flashing)
If you can get the tf to do a normal reboot, just hold down the Volume-Down button as it's doing that, and when the screen pops up it will ask checking-for-rck then press volume up to boot into the recovery image, no power button required. (note you do need it to select in recovery, unless you have touch version)
Alternative hold vol-up while soft rebooting to go into APK (sbkv1 only)

LOL found your post just coz i wanna get 1 of them
there might be more than one recovery partition i guess so command in bootloader says to flash secure recovery when key combo pressed
does cwm stay if you boot using key combo or you have to flash again ?
i'm guessing
1 boot into cwm
2 do a full backup
3 reboot phone check in file manager backup is on external sd !!! IMPORTANT !!!
4 power off the phone
5 try other key combinations ie :
Code:
VOL- and POWER
VOL+ and VOL- and POWER
VOL+ and HOME and POWER
VOL- and HOME and POWER
HOME and POWER
you get the drift
THIS WILL 99.9% FACTORY RESET YOUR PHONE (UNLESS YOU AVOID HARD RESET COMBO)
GOODLUCK
BTW HOW IS THIS PHONE IN HAND ?>
I have a zlr f9006 and I also flashed CWM. I also can't access it via key combination but CWM Rom Manager application gives you the option to "Reboot into Recovery" which actually works!
solution
How to boot this recovery:
- Power off
- Hold VOL+ and Power (will take longer time than VOL- and Power)
- Menu shows giving you choice between ROM downloader, UART, Recovery and Normal
- Use VOL keys to choose Recovery
- CWM boots
