Hello, I have the US version of the Atrix 2. And now that the Firmware of the Indian version is out, Is there any alternate way that I can flash my phone with the Indian firmware. Because I tried flashing it and got error in step 7. help greatly appreciated . Thanks man
And confirm that trying to flash the Indian firmware in the US version will lead to failure to boot. If you end up doing so, try this..
Press and hold Vol up + vol down + power buttons
Select BP tools from the menu (vol down to scroll and vol up to select).
I never know whether this would work for everyone, but it worked for me...chill
same thing happened to me as well but re flashed US version ...
Can you explain the steps ??? pls
Factory Reset
boot using Vol up down and power
RSD Lite to install InlineFlashing_edison_5.5.175.16_cfc_p3_APBP_CID28 5.zip
If things wont work than
Use Flashboot(using cmd) to install boot image of At&t version
Then use RSD Lite to install InlineFlashing_edison_5.5.175.16_cfc_p3_APBP_CID28 5.zip
if you are on 2.3.6 do replace the files before using RSD Lite
when I extract the India FW, there is a file: radio.img, can I flash this to my AT&T Atrix 2? Is this radio.img different from ATT ROM?
Can you guide me the safe way to flash?
Edit:
found a way:
type:
adb reboot-bootloader
type:
fastboot flash radio radio.img
Is it ok?
Radio is already there in at&t version...

If step 7 is flashing webtop, i mean grfs.img, then just open the xml file with notepad and delete that part(last but one line in steps).. and flash again...

I broke my phone.
I had a Spanish 2.1 defy rooted, and I wanted 2.2 so I installed System recovery and downloaded the UK Blur froyo rom. I installed and everything in the process went well, but I ended up stuck in the Motorola logo. What can I do or flash to the phone? please help me.
I knew stuff about android with my XT720 and Milestone but this phone is really different.
Update: I can't use any firmware either! When I try to flash it says ''failed, unable to charge ini files'' but this was happening even before I restored a backup
Please help me!
if you flashed a 2.2 ROM via RSD Lite, you cant get back to 2.1
go into the RecoveryMode volumedown+power and do a fullwipe (data+cache).
Restart. if that didn't work, than flash another 2.2 ROM with RSD Lite, which must be no older than that one, which you flashed first.
if no, than you'll get back to 2.1, when you go into the bootloader-mode with volumeup+power and flash via RSD Lite a 2.1 ROM ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=966537 )

Rsd Lite will give me that error with every firmware I try.
Recovery mode turns on but what can I do?
Which version of RSDLite are you using? Did you tried to download the sbf again?
Did you flashed 2.2 directly or that "downgradable" stuff?

I did not flash anything. Even before when the phone was working, RSD gave me that error. I got rsd 4.6.
I restored the UK Blur froyo backup with the Recovery menu, and I had made a backup of my 2.1, but I can't access to it. Just to the standard recovery mode.

Ok then, it is easy now to do it, you need to get a 2.1 SBF, then use THIS version of RSDLite
Flash, and reboot, if you stuck in bootloop just wipe and then you will be fine

The problem is that he was using RSDLite version 4.6, he needs to use 4.9 to work.

Uninstall all versions of RSDLite that you have, this is 4.9, i'm using it.
Then reinstall again, make sure you have the latest drivers : http://developer.motorola.com/docstools/USB_Drivers/Handset_USB_Driver/?pubid=987654
It's working now, but something wird happened. instead of opening flash image, it just started saying ''flashing phone''.
I guess it's just a mistake.
question, after this 2.1 I flashed and if it works, can I flsh a 2.2 firmware?
which one (with blur)?
thanks again.

That one doesn't have BLUR as you can see in the name, and i think there are problems flashing directly after 2.21, many people had to go thru 2.51, did you wiped after flash?

Didn't noticed you were from Uruguay, since that is a EU ROM you will have to flash one of this fixes : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=944258
The "Argentina" one should be fine.
Hi eveyone,
I'm a little bit lost with my phone...
My xt925 was in :
Branding: Orange France Version: 9.8.0Q-97-XT925_VQU-19 Android Version: 4.1.1
and because I want to use 4G I want to flash with:
Branding: Retail France/Retail Central Europe Version: 9.8.2Q-8-XT925_VQU-22 Android Version: 4.1.2
So I used RSD lite to flash to 4.1.2 but RSD lite was stuck in step 15/22 flash boot "boot_signed" (without the "var ligne")
By surfing the internet I though that maybe I should unlock the bootloader.
So I did it with th motorola web tool and now it's unlocked but RSD lite still stuck in step 15/22 flash boot "boot_signed"
I've tried also to flash from the sd card in recovery mode but: installation aborted ...
I also tried with RazrHD-Toolkit-5.0 and DroidHD Utility Lite but it always come back to fastboot:
AP Fastboot Flash Mode (S)

Device is UNLOCKED, Status Code: 3

I would. Easy.
Cautious:
You want to dl the 925 fxz/xml & move the recovery.img to sd card & let "Recovery tools" app from play do it.
I use any atrix hd, xt925, xt926 & photon Q cwmr & stock (not twrp) recovery on my xt907 all the time.
The stock files are identical.

This happens because the flashing failed when you tried to flash the wrong firmware. When the phone boots, it runs certain system checks, and if it fails those checks, as a safe mode, it throws itself into Fastboot. It will do this because it is unsure if the phone is safe to boot.
You can boot it normally from fastboot by hitting power, (screen shuts off) hold down both volume rockers, and hit the power button. Then select boot normally.

If you want to get back to stock, FXZ back to one of the stock AsianRetail firmware which can be found here.
If you don't know what FXZ is, read here.
Root from here.
If for some one reason this firmware does not work for you (it didn't for me, it got stuck at lockscreen everytime the phone booted and I couldn't unlock the phone) you could use this firmware.
Root from here.
Hope it helps!
Cheers.
Thank you so much buddy

the diffrence is in the powr off way !! if you turn your device out usually way ,you flash you dont see the new baseband version in the rom , before flash you need to FORCE POWER OFF - HOLD POWER OFF button until BLACK SCREEN ,than right into download mode and flash ,and you get/see new baseband in rom too, if you dont do it like that then the baseband in rom gonna stay the same/old
worked...
Repeated the procedure twice ( 4 flashes ) and then it worked...

Are you able to boot into recovery using the correct button sequence? Use this button combination:
Press and hold - POWER + VOLUME UP
If the recovery menu shows up, use the volume up/down button to scroll to Wipe Data/Factory Reset. Let it wipe and then select Reboot System Now and see if your device will boot normally. Good luck and let me know what happens.

If the recovery menu shows up, use the volume up/down button to scroll to Wipe Data/Factory Reset. Let it wipe and then select Reboot System Now and see if your device will boot normally. Good luck and let me know what happens.

Okay. No problem. I've had some issues with Odin 3.11 which you said you used to flash back to stock. I've had the most success with Odin 3.07 and 3.10. I would download Odin 3.07 and use it to flash the stock firmware. Make sure you are flashing the same firmware version that you were using before your problem started. So, if you were using 5.1.1, make sure you flash a stock 5.1.1 firmware.
Also, where are you downloading the stock firmware from? I use www.sammobile.com. It takes forever to download a firmware if you don't have an account but it's legit, stock firmware. Hope this helps. Good luck. Let me know what happens.

Was the device running a stock ROM with stock recovery installed or was it running a custom ROM with a custom recovery installed? If it was running a stock ROM with stock recovery I would try and flash the exact same firmware from sammobile.com. I would try and find out exactly which version of Android the device was running if I were you. Let me know. Ill help with what I can.

Have you tried to use Samsung Kies or Smart Switch and selecting the Emergency Recovery Mode? That would be my next step if all of my Odin flashes did nothing. Give it a try and let me know what happens. Good luck.
