Interesting comparison of the AT&T One X vs. international. Boot time on the AT&T version's pretty sluggish.
Now the question. This is a still from the video. Look at the difference in the menus. The One X has the setting dots by themselves and the AT&T version has them overlay options from the app. Is this the way it's implemented in production?

I've been scoring consistently between 6900 and 7020, so the video really doesn't say much.

same scores as the user above
AT&T seeems to have an older version(build) of the software

This wasn't even a final build of the AT&T phone, notice the HTC branding on it on top, it probably didn't have the latest updates and such.

I would say so; to the right it looks like a down arrow ("hide" maybe?)- maybe there is a gesture to call it up once hidden? That would be sweet (9/10 times I don't need a menu button when using something- being able to "call it up" for that 1/10 would be awesome and give more screen real-estate)

I don't think this is the AT&T version. Here is a picture of the one @therulebookman was able to purchase early; note the AT&T logo at the top and the 1.73.502.1 software version (video's is 1.44.something).
I don't doubt that it is an S4 processor, but is definitely an unfinished build or test device...
I ran the test on our demo just now and scored 6700. So its accurate...
More interesting is that my Antutu benchmark shows GS3 stats. o_0

Yes, I believe that's actually also in a later rom version for the international version to that the one on the left hasn't been updated to. Alot of people complained about the weird placement of the menu key since the rest of the buttons are capacitive and you don't have the softkeys with the HOX.
lol i just ran antutu on my captivate and 6700 is looking pretty damn good compared to 2900
That is the AT&T version, but if you look at the top left you can see some odd etchings, early test device and software.

More than double the pixels on the htc one xl lowers the score in graphics. I do admit the cpu is doing well on the sgs2.
Regarding Tegra3 vs Snapdragon s4, antutu is about the best use case for a quadcore. There are few real world mobile apps that even max out a dual core. In general use the snapdragon s4 is only slightly slower.
Well this is what my Gnex is doing with a ROM, kernel, OCed and speeds maxed. And the 1X is easily beating it on the stock ROM, and stock clock. Color me impressed.

I have to change my phone and my only req. is a hardware keyboard.
I've been a hardcore, diehard Windows Mobile user for over a decade.
I feel forced to go Android because WP7 smells sort of iPhone-esque clone (no file access, no multitasking, no cut/paste, etc...)
To my surprise, I've found there aren't quite a lot of Android devices with keyboard out there
Fortunately, I've seen a couple of interesting soon-to-be-released phones:
The HTC Desire Z / T-Mobile G2 and the Moto Droid 2 WE (world edition) / Milestone 2
Both will have Froyo 2.2, 5MP cam 720p HD video rec, 3.7" multitouch screen & all the standard shizz
G2 / Desire Z advantages:
- It is HTC
- It has Sense onboard, which I am familiar to
Appart from that, and curiously enough, the Droid 2 / Milestone 2 is better in every other aspect:
- Better screen res (854x480 vs 800x480)
- Faster processor (1000MHz vs 800MHz)
- More internal memory (8GB vs 1.5GB)
- Slightly smaller size (60.5 x 116.3 x 13.7 mm vs 60.4 x 119 x 14.2)
- Lighter weigth (169 gr vs 180 gr)
- Slightly bigger battery (1400 mAh vs 1300 mAh)
- Better flash (dual LED vs single LED)
My Q: Which one to go ?? or is there any other device to consider ??
Any advice / oppinion / suggestion appreciated

Adreno 205 is going to perform better than PowerVR SGX530 found in Droid X. It may even get pretty close to PowerVR SGX540 found in Sammy's Himmingbird.
Watch out for this table, I'm sure someone will load their Quadrant result as soon as it becomes available:

If only. It would be the almost perfect device. What have smartphone manufacturers got against big screen qwertys anyway!??!?
(yeah I know there are a couple but, only a couple! The Z's screen is too small so I don't count this. Samsungs Galaxy S Pro? The Galaxy is being slated due to bugs)
edit: I have to be honest though, i'm waiting for WinPho 7 as it appears, walled garden aside, that it could integrate very will with Zune and my Xbox subscription. If it launches and has full and complete MS Ofice/Exchange integration then its very possible I will jump straight on to a Dell Lightning - assuming it records 720p.
**Update: The just announced HTC Incredible S has the same processor, same amount of RAM, same amount of Internal phone storage as well.

Youre going to see a Quadrant benchmark score of around: 2055 (highest recorded value) and much more after its rooted, overclocked and flashed with a custom rom down the line.
Heres a video of the real deal in action using the Quadrant benchmark app:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eXbRKbnUUr0
Someone has achieved a score of 2432 with the following using their Desire HD: Cyanogen RC2, Buzz kernel OC/UV and 1.22 GHz o/c by 22%
The above results indicate its only a few points under a stock LG Optimus 2X (Quadrant benchmark of 2514) which has a dual core... this is saying ALOT.
What the HTC Incredible S, Experia Arc, myTouch HD and Inspire 4G have in common
Direct copy paste of the review for the Sony Ericsson XPERIA Arc
"As far as general performance is concerned the Sony Ericsson XPERIA Arc does splendidly. It’s powered by a Qualcomm MSM8255 Snapdragon System-on-a-chip featuring a 1 GHz Scorpion CPU and the Adreno 205 GPU. Yet the further optimizations brought by Gingerbread helps it do a bit better than the Desire HD at the CPU benchmarks.
Even at this early stage the XPERIA Arc is getting some excellent score on popular benchmarks
But it’s not so much synthetic benchmarks that should concern you – it’s the real life performance that matter here and the XPERIA Arc feels as smooth as butter. Even at these early stages of its development the handset didn’t treat us to any irritating lags or nasty holdups, which is really promising to say the least."
(legend221 says: "Its more than likely Gingerbread will be coming to the Inspire 4G down the line either from those amazing xda devs or directly from HTC")

I will have to wait and see what the Quadrant score is and compare.
Regardless, if its Motorola its going to be trouble and a lot more risky to manipulate than a trusty HTC device.
That's why I'm so adamant about the XDA community... we have soo much talent not even the manufacturers can officially release anything that compares to the custom Roms we are graced with.
Looking forward in seeing how the Inspire 4G develops.

The Atrix quadrant run I saw had a result of 2500+. That thing is powerful for sure. The good thing about a March 6 release is that I'd be within my 30 days if I decide to go from Inspire to Atrix. Personally, I prefer Sense to Blur but the hardware is tough to ignore.

With a bit of OverClock, a custom Rom and some and Kernel love we are up there, just a few points under the over hyped Atrix 4G
This is what a Desire HD scores with the options below:
Model

Quadrant
Score
2432
OS
Android 2.2
Customization
Cyanogen RC2, Buzz kernel OC/UV
CPU
Qualcomm Snapdragon MSM8255
CPU Clock
1.22 GHz o/c by 22%
GPU

The HD2 has the same guts as the Inspire and look at its highest score, WOW
The potential is most definitely there, see direct quote below:

As most of that score comes from IO I assume that the NAND being used is just much faster then most other phones.

The SGS 2 is currently the benchmark king, but all the benchmarks that are currently on the net for O3D show that the O3D was running pre-release software. There are no final release software O3D's benchmark test results out yet.

At mwc on february in barcellona,Lg press conference showed a 2900+ points in quadrant.
SGS2 can easily get over 4000 quadrant score when overclocked to a stable 1.5GHz.
I wonder if we can overclock the O3D? If so, I reckon it will also go to 1.5GHz possibly.
I've had the pleasure to play with it yesterday at LG. Only had the time to install Quadrant.

Quick question, why do the benchmarks seem a bit low is this review? Neocore didn't even hit 59 FPS! And the quadrant seems a bit low of 2800+ that LG claim...
Is this review still not on final software?
Thanks

The highest i got on Quadrant was 2680. But mine is running on May software, so its not final. Don't really compare this phone to SG2 because that comes overclocked from Sammy and is on gingerbread, that's why it gets high scores. Wait til O3D gets 2.3 and overclock kernel then we shall see its potential.

|SGS2 is UNDERclocked, the CPU is a 1.5ghz one underclocked to 1.2ghz
Linpack has a new multi-thread app out. The best SGS2 score has been 155.597 MFLOPS. The Zoom is the reigning champion. Any of you run it yet?
Looks like the Evo 3D to me with 201.754
I'm getting crap with CM7 lol. 39.807 for both single and multithread
Of course I'm running stock everything. Be interesting to see what a EXT4 kernel with a 1.5ghz OC gets.
I don't know if I'mdoing it right, but it only takes about half a second to run the test? And I'm getting results all over the place between 81 and 101.
edit: Oh, that was at 1300MHz...when I pumped it up to 1500, I'm getting values between 93 and 113 on multithread.
Running EB 1.05 w/faux 0.0.3 1500uv/oc
I noticed mine says "Inconsistent Result" for Precision. Seems goofy. Very weird. Doesn't seem accurate.
If I keep doing it, sometimes I get a value for "Precision" but the MFLOPS are all over the place. Like above but mine go from high 30's to low 100's.
Again with CM7.

Right you are. The difference is because of the different radios, one being GSM the other CDMA. Could explain things.
I got a score of 140+ but it was Inconsistent Result. But when it does go through it is around 118 OC @ 1.55. I think it still has some bugs to be worked out for sure.

I get 115 118 on oc 1500 but says inconsistent most times.
I believe from my experience with benchmarks is that these are made to favor certain setups ( ie. A specific phone.) I have no problems oc to 1500 all benchmarks run fine.
But on the smartbench 2011 it will give me invalid results on the 1500 oc every time. But the test run fine with no issues. Just my thought on this. Totally take these with a grain of salt.

I'm currently running virtuous inquisition 1.3.0. I've tried all ICS roms and I must say I havent' seen much speed increase running single core vs dual core (enabled via system tuner pro). ICS was supposed to take full advantage of the dual core processor but - it's not doing that. I ran tests and after disabling one core the phone actually performs a bit faster - using all the tests I could find: linpack, Quadrant and CF-Bench. Could well be that it's just such an early release of ICS. But GB is actually performing better vs ICS at the current state of affairs.
Synthetic benchmarks are far from definitive.

I'm comparing apples to apples numerous times, the disabled secondary core results are always a bit higher.
It's a test ROM. What did you expect?
1. It's an internal test LEAK with a pre-official base
2. Asynchronous smp. Wtf do people not understand about our phones being asynchronous smp architecture? Ics WILL NEVER change this. Ics made the whole rom multithreaded (taking advantage of multi core) and made apps aware of multicore, but nowhere did it EVER say it would change our phone from asynchronous smp to synchronous smp.
Our phones are only built to have cpu1 come on when the load (not speed) on cpu0 reaches a certain threshold.
ICS WILL NOT MAKE BOTH CORES STAY ON ALL THE TIME! this would mean changing the CPU architecture which is not happening after the whole SoC has been designed, layed out, and built (the physical chip and its design).

I was expecting dual core perform at least on par with the single core, as ICS finally able to do it.
But you may be right - got trip's experimental beta and without even looking if it's running dual core - his rom smokes competition flat. Much better results than even the famed Galaxy S2.
I dont understand what are you guys talking about, im running ICS with sense for few days and its faster than anything before and benchmarks confirm it
2600 in quadrant and 6250 in AnTuTU and i couldn't get that much even with custom tweaked kernels with overclocked GPU..
Only problem is as its early stage dev rom, scores are some times "quirky" and drop in half but most of the times you get this high ones.
Also Browser is noticeable smoother, scrolling pages (XDA Sensation development) is smooth now and was laggy with ALL roms EVER. EStrong file manager also smooth as it should be..

Only problem is as its early stage dev rom, scores are some times "quirky" and drop in half but most of the times you get this high ones.
Also Browser is noticeable smoother, scrolling pages (XDA Sensation development) is smooth now and was laggy with ALL roms EVER. EStrong file manager also smooth as it should be..

quadrant doesn't support dual core & isn't a reliable benchmark.

Enough with Quadrant bashing. It shows useful FPS information and is relative. Now, if it only went to 2500 no matter what ROM you are using then yes, it would be useless. But getting a 1400 on it with one ROM and then getting a 2600 on it with another ROM AINT useless information.

So your saying by disabling 2nd core you get same score? And tell me why is CPU usage on 100% during test for both cores if it doesnt support it..doesnt make sense to me..but who knows maybe your right...

I'm not the only one on here that believes that it isn't a reliable benchmark.
Have a look at some of the threads about it.
Since android is a multi-tasking OS results will always vary from test to test in Quadrant.
