This is a simple HTC theme for STOCK ONLY. It changes a few icons (usb notifications, loading indicator, battery status), as well as a new lockscreen slider and wallpaper set.
How to install:
1. Download attached file. Copy to KF.
2. Use a file explorer (with root access, preferably Root Explorer) to navigate to /system/framework/
3. Mount /system as writable.
4. Paste the file in /system/framework
Your KF should restart. If not, manually do it.

(Sorry about the orientation)
Quite subtle but welcome changes, was expecting to get rid of the wooden shelves background for something more colorful. Though the wallpaper pack is great but could be assigned with an app on appstore doesn't change much. Replacing framework deleted my accounts and had to re-register emails, kindle, android store. Try to get orange gradient effect for loading bar in android market, the rotating gear is good.

Sorry about the registration thing. Didn't do it for me. Otherwise, I actually used the original images from my EVO that were accessible. The gear came from the internet. I would use higher resolution images but can't find them. For the shelves, we would need to extract the Launcher.apk, which I am planning on doing work with later. Same goes for systemui.apk. I would rather not pay $99 to put an app in the store when I could do it here for less and more easily.
I meant when installing and downloading an app from appstore the loading bar is blue in your theme I believe the orange goes more naturally with kindle fire rather than blue oscilloscope which you have included. Oh my! the battery Mod is fantastic try incorporating an orange circle one I tried finding but couldn't its visible in homescreen thread early posts.
kindle reebit.
Is the kindle suppose stay in a bootloop? Also I'm using stock 6.3 insecure Rom.
You were supposed to change permissions before moving framework-res apk into system/framework. The probable way is copying the framework file from this thread into system folder change permissions and than move and replace into system/framework/
Permissions
Is it going to be Chmod 644 or something else on root explorer?

Easy way check the permission of default framework-res.apk in system/framework/ and change the framework file from this thread accordingly.

As said the changes are subtle the op has kept the theme clean and overtly simple. The battey indicator turns green while charging and yellow when low before turning red when critically low >5%
my device does not boot anymore. can u help me please ? !!!
Changing permissions before moving the modded framework-res.apk is must.Seems like you missed it now
If you have a backup than restore it from twrp recovery or
Mount your system from twrp menu and push original framework-res.apk extracted from any stock Rom and Change permissions OR
Change permissions of resident franework-res apk file.
Type adb commands on mounting:
adb shell chmod 644 /system/framework/framework-res.apk

Hello everyone! First thanks to everyone involved in rooting hacking deving modding whatevering the android systems! you guys are amazing!
Recently jmotyka started a theme for a20/a21 sense! So far the theme is amazing and getting better with every release. It can be downloaded here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=656694
My favorite part of the theme is the font. And i KNOW that there will be MANY roms soon with all the dumps gettin released of late... SOOO... i really wanted to see if i could get this font to be useable with any sense rom.
I used root explorer to pull the /system/fonts folder from jmotyka's theme and after re-flashing my custom baked a21 rom used root explorer to overwrite the /system/fonts folder and this is my result!
Jmotyka's themed a21..........................................Stock a21

Stock a21 with /system/fonts replaced
ALMOST everything works beautiful (which is unbelievable in it'self to me) ACCEPT the notifications bar is missing date (left) time (right) notifications header (mid) and bold notification text (voicemail 255).
any help would be appreciated if someone knows how to fix this sort of issue relatively easily!
NOTE i use these live backgrounds "flying androids" and "plasma" because sense moves smoother on these than with a still jpeg due to the lack of scrolling!
I believe the missing boldness is caused by your fonts not supporting the Bold property. Tried another font?
I had a similar experience with CM.
For some reason I could only change the fonts of the same typeface one at a time.
If I changed DroidSans.ttf and DroidSans-Bold.ttf at the same time then I would get either all bold or all normal text. Never both.
However, if I change one font, reboot then change the other font I never have this problem. Strange.
This behaviour does not manifest itself when changing different typefaces.
thanks djmcnz im tryin that now
only moving the two files listed above with a reboot between fixed the date and time but everything else is still faulty... herumph

Bizarre! And I thought my experience was odd, yours is really crazy.
So your notification bar is perfect (contents and font)? But everything else is in normal instead of a mix of normal and bold? Is that correct?
And if you push the original fonts back does that fix it??? Might pay to start there... something else may have got screwed up (although I can't imagine what).
when i tried the above method everything was in the new font but the bold fonts just wouldnt show! maybe pushing them instead of using root explorer would do the trick! currently i just pushed the DroidSans.ttf which takes care of 90% of the fonts... but at least the bold show up though theyre the classic font!

And if you copy over the new bold font now then reboot what happens?
Root Explorer should be okay but I suspect you'll get a more consistent result with adb.
NB - try deleting or renaming the original before copying over the new i.e. don't "replace" the existing font.

it works, but not perfectly. The background needs to be made tileable.
Things I had to do
1) uninstall the old apk.
adb uninstall -d com.kalicinscy.wallpaper.starfield
2) sign and then install this one.
adb install -r StarfieldLeopard.apk
3) enable "Background" in LWP settings.
Screenshot and apk attached.
edit: removed attachments.
thanks got it, when i have that working i will let you know. in the mean time can you check what happens if you put the full wallpaper in the assests/texture folder? maybe the width measurements i made on the first one was not adequate. Unless the exact measurements are coded in followed by making the image tilable. If that is the case, i will put some effort in to making a tilable version of the wall.
It might get really slow though!
the file has to be renamed to starfield_04.png
I used the gimp's filters->map->make seamless tool and it helped a lot.
Its not perfect. Added a bluish version too.
edit: removed attachments.
thats awesome mate, i am a newbie here but already feeling good that senior guys are helping us out! You think you can recode the black stars to white though?
One final request bro,
>here<
is the final image i made using your gimp concept, it worked out well with a slight touch from ps cs4 , could you use this and attach the final apk for me.
Thanks
Below is a new colored icon aswell for the new starfieldlep edition!
All Done! ^Check the first post!! ^
can I check the source for problems?
really cool, i like this new bg than the original.
question, why are some star streaks black instead of white?
Are you finished working on this apk? I mean wallpaper.. The pictures are absolutely stunning. I dont have a N1 yet (42 more days till I do) and I could see this being a full-time wallpaper when I do get one.
I like this Live Wallpaper, but sometimes the app is closed with an error
is there any way that i can get the source so that i can work on errors in it?
Sorry guys for the late reply, but thanks, @samir5421 i downloaded the apk by googling as i have not rooted the n1, if you have a rooted version i am sure you can download the updated apk (starfield) from the market and fix the errors :S
I think the version I have downloaded was a pretty old build compared to the one that is up on the market right now. I am attaching the files I made changes to aswell as the original apk.
@cdmove, I am not actually any good with this, I am just a graphics designer and so i wish someone could get into the guts of this and change the black streaks to white as I have no knowledge on how to edit android resources yet.

yup and also the stars start of as black [blending into the original bg(b/w)], and move to white, which actually makes sense as or else there would be too many white dots on the screen popping up at the same time, but if its possible to change the gradient from black to white to white to white we could judge it for ourselves.
any fix yet on the fc's? i really like how this looks!
stars with background really slow. maybe you can change the star's background color instead of use an image.
This is a bonus HTC Tasks widget included in the latest Fresh build (3.1.0.1.). The yellow is awful. Can someone make this transparent or at least black and white?

Alright, done quickly. It has a black background set at 25% transparency. Hopefully this will work for you. I have not tested this yet since I don't have Sense on my phone. If it doesn't work let me know and I will fix it.
EDIT: I just realized it may look funny. I will make it better looking when I wake up in the morning. If you really want 100% transparency that should be easy to do.

Wow, for some reason I couldn't find this thread again. Sorry for the delay in response.
I'll try and change the text color, if I can't get that to work I will change the bg to a translucent white.
UPDATE: Ok so for some reason I can't change the task text color. I know where and how to change it, I just can't for some reason (changing it does nothing). I can change the text color of everything else, just not the tasks. I have no idea why that is. So for now I just changed the bg and made the page number text darker. You should be able to view it perfectly now.

Works great! Good Job1
I can not get either APK to install. What am I doing wrong?
Running stock rom, rooted with Unrevoked 3.21
How are you trying to install it?
I'm haven't tried this apk but most likely it has not been resigned in which case you will need to push it to /system/app/ either through adb or with an app like root explorer.
I have tried placing it in system/app and install with root explorer. When I just push it into system/app it never becomes available as a widget. When I try with root explorer, it goes through the install process and then at the end says Install Failed.
If you place it into /system/app/ you do not need to "install." you should simply have to reboot the phone and it should work.
Edit: nevermind.
Yeah, I dont try to install if I push into system/app. But even after a reboot, the widget isnt there. :-(

I did get the highest permission and also pushed it to system/app, then reboot. It appeared on system/app but still can't find this widget on the htc widget list.....
I am not sure if this application may need an .odex as I found most of the other widgets have .odex doc after the application.
Can you help to confirm if my assumption is correct and how to create an .odex file?
Thanks

Enabled Lower Auto-Brightness Levels (LockeOn)
Disabled "Battery is Full" notification (pulser_g2)
== How to get it? ==
First of all, you need to be on XXKPU. You can get it here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1405357
You'll need CWM. I suggest you to install latest and greatest kernel from xda_bam, which also fixes push notification issues, and provides CWM. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1355675
Then, you need to de-odex your ROM. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1323661
Lastly you can flash the "night pack" through CWM: http://www.filedropper.com/night-pack-xxkpu
Enjoy and sleep well!

I can't understand this,
"Disabled Battery's full notification (pulser_g2)"
Great mod...will try and report results..
A typo. I meant: disabled full battery's notification. It is quite annoying waking up in the middle of night because your phone wants to warn you that he's fully charged.

If it the swipe to remove notification mod carries the same files as this mod do, then they are not compatible. Sorry. Specifically: /system/framework/services.jar and /system/app/Settings.apk are modded for lower brightness selections, /system/framework/framework-res.apk is modded for auto-brightness levels and /system/app/SystemUI.apk is modded for full charge notification removal.

Have you chmodded your apk after pushing? After uploading apk give a chmod 644 /system/remote-apk.apk in an android shell, give this command as super user. I bet you can change permissions also with root explorer. This command is already performed in the updater script I made... but if you upload apks manually you need to give it manually.
Ooooh right! You are on the right way. I forgot this
Thx!

So I didn't even notice that this icon just sits there for no real apparent reason and found it to be a nuisance, seeing as how the information it intends to show is pretty useless.
So I changed SystemUI to look like this (this is a screenshot in landscape mode). No more GPS crosshairs:
It's cut off in the image, but the last two toggles will be "Mobile data" and "Sync" on the far right.
100% credit goes to MAD Industries and the packages that he uploaded to this thread. It was one of the first mods I even tried when I first rooted. Killing the gps crosshairs was on his to-do list and was sad to see that there weren't any further updates on it.
Rather than completely delete those crosshair images from the SystemUI package, I just edited the opacity of those images in Gimp so you just don't see them.
Just drop systemui.apk into /system/app
SystemUI will start freaking out and force close repeatedly. Just reboot the phone and you're good to go.
I know this is a ridiculously minor mod, but I was thinking if I had been searching for it, then maybe I might be able to save someone else out there some time. I'm one of those folks that hasn't yet jumped to a stock rom like CleanRom, Synergy, etc.
Thanks.
Nice!:good:
If you don't mind deleting the icon (or saving it elsewhere), here's a writeup:
Disclaimer: Do not attempt this if you don't have a nandroid backup and/or are not comfortable flashing your phone if you brick it. This method alters and replaces crtical system apk files. If you've never used ninjamorph, well then you need to go read. I'll try to answer questions and help.
In ninjamorph:
open a project with systemui.apk, then exit ninjamorph
In a file browser:
go to sdcard\AndroidThemes\workspace\SystemUIapk\res\drawable-hdpi\
delete stat_sys_location_on_2.png and stat_sys_location_e911_2.png
Edit: I just figured out that you can delete files within ninjamorph. So the steps where you delete files from within the file browser, well you can just do it all in ninjamorph and save time.
In ninjamorph:
finish the systemui project
Once it is done, immediately hit power and reboot the phone. If you don't do this quickly before something uses systemui.apk, then the phone will freeze and you'll have to battery pull. After the reboot, you should be AOK and without those annoying GPS icons.

Thank you so much. I was looking for this. Works great.
Very glad that I could be of some help.
DUDE! Thank you so much for that write up! Been dying to get rid of that icon!
This also added a wifi on/off button in the notification bar which I wanted. The downside is that the data button is now at the end of the right side but not a big problem.
Deleting the file gets rid of the Icon but the space in the noti bar cannot be filled by another icon. So you cant see it but the space is still filled. Any way to fix this?

I notice that too, but I only notice it when the 'smart stay' icon pops up.
What other icons are there to the left of the gps-crosshairs/location icons?
As far as I know, MAD mentioned that completely editing out that area of the status bar takes a lot of work, smali edits, etc.
The other alternative may be to resize the .png files to a 1x1 pixel image and see if that helps, but I don't have much time to give that a try today.
Just tried shrinking the png files to 1 pixel in width. Doesn't work. The space is still reserved but again, I only notice it when the smart stay icon pops up. I drive myself crazy over a lot of things but not going to with this lol.
It would be nice to just turn this "feature" off and reclaim a little screen real estate.
