Particular Root Solution - Samsung Galaxy Tab Plus

Hi guys,
Is this root solution safe to use on my device?
http://www.androidauthority.com/galaxy-tab-7-0-plus-wifi-gt-p6210-root-63530/
Would it brick it and if so, would there be any way to restore the device?
Thanks

That is the method I used to root mine, there is a thread for it in the development section. This only roots the device and does not put a custom recovery in place, you have to use Gary's method for that. You will also need to install a copy of superuser once you do this and that is available in the market. The device can be restored using Odin which I have not had to use yet so not sure how it works but there is a thread for that in development too.

there is another root package that i create come with superuser and busybox so you dont have to download those manually...

What's the likely hood that it will brick my device?

Less than a fraction of a percent. All it does is put an su binary file into the system/bin folder.

Device now all rooted and working.
Is it me, or does a device run slower when rooted, I might just be making things up? lol

Its your imagination as all it does is give you administrative privleges and is not an app or program that uses resources.

[Q] Backup Android ROM from Scratc?

I have a Samsung Discover SCH-R740C that I just got.
I am looking for information on backing up the stock rom using heimdall if possible or odin if necessary.
There is currently no root for this phone and no clockworkmod. So these suggestions won't work.

Sorry to say this but you're out of luck. Your device must have at least root access in order to make backups with Odin or Heimdall as seen here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1082288, and here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1372455. You could actually make a backup without root access with CWM, by just flashing as directed here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=33501498&postcount=2, but since you have neither you can't make a backup with just the stock rom by itself.

There has to be a way. Somebody is rooting these phones some how. The question then becomes how do you root a phone without a root rom?

All root does is give you administrative access to your device. You can gain it by simply from looking at exploits in the stock rom itself (gingerbreak is an example that does this). Also since Android is based off of the Linux Kernel, getting root access involves a very similar process in getting admin permission on Linux itself. Pretty much you're hacking the device.

Have you tried superoneclick to root your device?
Also I'm not sure if they are. I just know it requires you to know code like C++, Java, and etc.
Edit: It seems that your device does have root

Neither of these will allow me to make a stock backup of the rom. If I use a program I have no clue what the program did and it can't be reversed in the rom image.

I've been doing some more reading and just as I thought you can't make backups without root whatsoever. Some people made backups of their devices using scripts like this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1632376&nocache=1 for example and running it through terminal in Linux or ADB shell (Command Prompt) in Linux. That's about all you can do if you don't have CWM, unless you know how to port it.
Clockworkmod now available

Oh crap sorry guys didn't see the date on this thread.. sorry!!

Does This CF-Auto Root Trully Works ON G930T

guys i want to root my phone on the fast and very simple way possible.
found this root method on https://autoroot.chainfire.eu
this is the link for the root method https://download.chainfire.eu/982/C...Auto-Root-heroqltetmo-heroqltetmo-smg930t.zip
i did not tryed it my self yet. but if theres a user that rooted their phone that way, let me know.
bump
I don't think this will work unless we get our Bootloader unlocked (which hasn't been done yet as far as i know)
UNLOCK BOOTLOADERS
If you have locked bootloaders, flashing one of these will probably brick your device - with the exception of Nexus devices, which will usually automatically "OEM unlock" and wipe your data !
this is kind of lame.... why chainfire release a auto root if the thevice have bootloader locked down? and onlockable?
Confused myself
I want to say root is possible, there are tons of sites with instructions: https://www.google.com/search?q=SM-...i57j0j69i60.9343j0j4&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8
Of course, XDA doesn't seem to have a specific G930T thread for rooting with instructions, then see threads like this today. I was all set to give it a try, but unsure if should proceed...
Did find this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/tmobile-galaxy-s7/help/sm-g930t-root-doesnt-void-warranty-t3415936
EDIT: so the one linked in original comment was the bleeding edge root process and seems like had a really high failure rate. Most current I've seen is: http://lifeatsamsung.com/root-t-mobile-galaxy-s7-sm-g930t-2/
Seems a little more clean cut and easy. I'll edit again if I find a newer solution or at least commentary on success/fail
In comments OP posts:
Yes I am planning to make a video tutorial.
Also I used the method provided here (this is Max Lee's website)

So the solution and all the fixes, etc is right here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/ver...-to-notes-root-install-xposed-unroot-t3411039
Worked for me, no problem. Even installed the debloated, deox'd ROM. Unfortunately after root you will need to follow rest of guide, otherwise you will see some lag issues.
On the other side of it, phone is great, fast, if not faster than before, and got root. Let me know if you would like some screenshots proving a TMO phone is rootable or if can answer any questions

So what does this mean in layman's terms. Can I root the device safely with full functionality or not? Are there plans to get a rooted bootloader? And what does this mean because I thought the TMO version had a qualcom processor...

This means that the only rooting method right now isn't as stable as it would be if it had a unlocked bootloader the root right now will cause some issues but they can easily be fix from some of the steps after rooting guides that are in the xda forums and yes it using a Qualcomm processor Witch is pretty much the snapdragon and there hasn't been any luck this past year of getting the bootloader unlocked for full and smooth rooting I'm really ****ty at explaining sorry if your still lost
The Chainfire method he released does NOT work. I'm not sure why he released it...maybe he knows of a future bootloader unlock that we don't know about.

@KillerClaw321 I am at the machine now and have tried running CMD in admin mode. Still no joy. What are the beat adb drivers to use for AMD machine? Maybe the drivers are the problem? What else can I try? I am on PK1 as the phone is new from the store yesterday and a fresh shipment to them the day before.
I also see a DM verification verify failed dialogue at the bottom when i try the factory reset. No DRK

Rooting OPO without Wiping Data

Hi
I want to root my OnePlus One solely for the purpose of being able to install an app which requires my phone to be rooted. I have seen some old threads (both here and on OnePlus.net) on how to do this, but I'm not sure if the procedures still work for a phone running Cyanogen 13.1.
Can anyone point me to some instructions that do work for OPOs running CM13.1 that will allow me to root my phone without wiping any data
Many Thanks!

Well you only want root right?
You can simply do it without unlocking boot loader.
Just search for kingoroot or kingroot apk on google and use it making sure you've a good internet connection. It may need a few tries before rooting. But it will 100% work.
Not the best choice...You should install the system less supersu imo.

Doesn't matter,he wants the root only and he can achieve the supersu by a simple kinguser to supersu trick.

Grandstream - GXV3370 - How to root

Hello guys,
Grandstream released their new android desk phone, the 3370.
I'm not able to root it the way I was doing it on the GXV3275.
Motochopper worked on earlier version of 3275, then I was using KingRoot.
I tried these method on the new 3370, without success.
I tried KingoRoot and One Click Root.
The Windows version of KingoRoot and Kingroot does not work using ADB wifi, so I don't know if it could eventually work.
Do you guys know a way?

Have you tried the Magisk method? Find the Magisk rooting thread here, read it thoroughly there are details about your device that you will need to research to determine exactly how to apply Magisk to your specific device. Details such as whether your device is an A/B partitioned device or if you need to patch the boot.img or recovery.img, etc... Be careful and make sure you understand the details properly.

recovering root access

G'day all.
Rooted my old Galaxy Tab 4; flashed a ROM that seems to be working just fine.
Somehow I managed to delete/disable/screw up Google Play Services to the point where I had to do a factory reset. I still appear to be using the new ROM, but SuperUser now says I don't have root access. When I run the rooting software (KingoRoot, Kingroot, and RootMaster) they say I'm rooted. But Root Check says not.
Any thoughts as to how to recover access? I'd like to be able to get rid of some of the bloatware that still infests the machine.
regards

I'll have a look there but I think the issue is not necessarily related to the machine but to something with the software permissions. Somehow, Superuser is ignoring the rooting software, whiich did not happent he first time I did it and I think that's because something happened during the reset.

Samsung devices are not like other Android devices, very heavily modified android.
Very few devices can be rooted by KingoRoot, Kingroot, or RootMaster anymore.
As long as the SU-binary is present in /system/bin the device is rooted. Check for this.

And I do not appear to have access t the root files, so can't see if anything is in /system/bin. Indeed I can't see the folder itself. mite turn up on adb, I suppose. I'll try that when a get a few minutes.
