i have some file bootanimation.zip. but i do'nt know how to use with this rom.
Using Root Explorer go to System/media.
Then after turning on Read/Write in Root Explorer replace the current ZIP with your choice. Set the permission rw-r-r and reboot.
Sometimes you need to name it sanim.zip instead of bootanimation.zip

That's how I changed mine in zeus. Of course you need to fix permissions, that's assumed in the process.

You also have to rename it sanim.zip per Dman.

Also delete the line

And yet my bootanimation went back to stock after a week of using Zeus. I ended up having to manually rename the sanim.zip to bootanimation.zip to get the custom boot animation back. Bottomline, search and try to do things yourself before posting a topic. A boot animation is simple, so the flashing should be harmless to your phone if you have a general idea of what you are doing.

Due to a lack of interest from the xda crowd this bootscreen has been abandoned and all files needed to reproduce this effect deleted... sorry... if I get more requests I can remake the effect...
For everyone that seriously dislikes the pinks as much as me here's a solution until the KG4/KG6 kernel can be modded to support custom animations. These will also work with any froyo build too.
I extracted the boot animations from the S2 stock ROM, since I couldn't seem to find them anywhere.
Copy and replace them with the ones you currently have in:
/System/Media/Bootsamsung.qmg
and
/System/Media/Bootsamsungloop.qmg
Link to download.
Dead Link removed
Enjoy!

If you are on Gingerbread (KG4/KG6) you should be able to replace shutdown.qmg inside of /system/media/video/shutdown with bootsamsung.qmg.
I haven't tried this myself but it should work.
Froyo builds you would not be able to because it reads the PNG sequence of images in the same folder for the shutdown graphics.

Yeah didn't work. The start up is great, thanks.
Files
Can you take shutdown.qmg, PowerOFF.wav files out of Galaxy S2 and post here. I don't know about the S2, but on the SGS4G files are located in
/system/media/audio/ui/PowerOFF.wav
/system/media/video/shutdown/shutdown.qmg
so everything matches. Thank you ahead of time.

I just deleted the shutdown.wav file from the location.
I see a lot of ppl that are on custom roms that would like stock animation and sound back. So i figured i would share this. I take no credit for this. Im just simply rewriting and summarizing what i found over in the Stratosphere section on rootzwiki. Credit goes to icebear for finding the files and to buffaloquinn for posting what to do with them. You can find that thread here
Download stock files here
In Root Explorer (or other file manager)
Navigate to /system/media/
(change to R/W)
In /system/media/
Rename bootsamsung.qmg -> bootsamsung.bak
Rename bootsamsungloop.qmg -> bootsamsungloop.bak
Copy bootani.qmg and bootsamsungloop.qmg (from wherever you have them) to the /system/media/ directory
Rename bootani.qmg -> bootsamsung.qmg
In /system/etc/
Replace the PowerOn.wav file with stock Droid version (If your on infinity rom or another rom that doesnt have boot sound. Then just add the wav file to the /system/etc/ directory)
Change back to R/O
Reboot to the Droid animation
Nice job writing it up but lol that dang boot sound is the first thing I kill. I either edit it out or replace it.
Thanks! Sound is optional though. I just figured i would include how to do it all. If anybody doesn't want any sound then just delete the .wav file in the directory.
Im running tweakstock 1.4 and the audio changed but the animation did not

If you unzip the rom package and go under system/apps/ there is an apk file in there called swagpapers.apk . I believe that is the wallpaper package. All you would need to do is copy that .apk file and then paste it in system/apps/ for any rom you want to use them in.

You can't install system apps from Internal/External SD card. You would have to drag and drop it under system/apparently and set the permissions.

I believe the term for this is Beating a dead horse.

Setting permissions only applys to an installed ROM. Perhaps a person has trouble on the latest update with the browser apk of your ROM, he then would just rip out the browser apk from the previous release. And throw it in with the correct permissions (from previous), to see if it fixed any issues.

Hello guys,
I want to change the Andromadus CM10.1 (build 12) bootanimation with the R2D2 bootanimation in this link (http://androidbootanimation.com/category/800x480-boot-animations/page/2/)
I have renominated the stock bootanimation.zip in bootanimation_old.zip and copied the one from the site in /system/media and renominated bootanimation.zip
Although it seems I have done something wrong because when i reboot the phone I get stock "Android" bootanimation in boot. I have read many threads but it seems that apart from sense rom, the procedure is just the same.
Is there anyone that can help sort it out?
Thank you
