First off, I would like to say that I know there are certain "approved WP7 sd cards."
I have a Samsung Focus running cleanRom 2.0. I also have an 8gb sd card installed. It's not a fast one or anything, and I am not even sure if it is WP7 approved.
Now here is my question: When I am connected to WiFi, youtube videos (or any streamable videos) load and being playing on my phone near instantly. When I am on 3G and even 3G+ (HSPA+) they will load the first 9-12seconds literally instantly and play up until that point, but then they will stop loading.
Is this a problem with the SD card do you think? Because they load instantly with no problems over WiFi, I do not think this has to do with the SD card. I have speedtested my 3G numerous times with very fast results each time (running on StraightTalk which uses AT&T towers). Everything else related to using 3G loads quickly.
My Focus started having that exact same problem with all video. Youtube videos and video that I had on Skydrive all acted like you describe. At first I thought it was my SD card but the problems persisted after I removed it and reset it.
Why videos worked on WiFi and not 3G I never figured out. The phone was having other issues as well which led me to believe the internal storage was failing on me so I ended up replacing the phone with a Lumia 900.
It wouldn't surprise me if the problem is being caused by AT&T throttling or dropping the stream to conserve bandwidth. It sounds like something they would do.
Did you measured your bandwidth/download speed on 3G? Try to measure and compare with WiFi bandwidth. Probably your connection speed isn't enough for HD vids.
Your question is looks really strange: "YouTube videos are playing good on WiFi but not on 3g, is it my sdcard?" Why do you suspect a sdcard? I don't know what are you using for YouTube but technically those videos can be played from RAM, without any storage - you may trust me...

Hello all,
Lately (meaning, the last couple of days -- perhaps 3 or 4), my phone has been unable to get a Verizon data network connection for a certain amount of time (4G or 3G). WiFi works fine. However, anything else doesn't work, say, for a few minutes, or a hour or so. Sometimes, a reboot will fix the problem, but sometimes it won't.
The odd thing is, the "4G-LTE" icon is displayed and shows activity (up and down arrows blinking), yet I can't browse the web, update the weather, update Facebook, check email, etc., etc.
Does anyone have any ideas? Running BAMF 1.3.2. I am in the middle of NYC (plenty of 4G service). Yes, Mobile Network is enabled in the Settings. Tried a battery pull as described above AND a SIM card pull. Still no fix.
I had a similar problem a few days after I got my Thunderbolt. I was still on stock yet. I ended up going to the Verizon store and they did a hard reset to fix it. It sucked because I lost all my data but since it was new I didn't have much on it. If you back up everything with Titanium Backup it shouldn't be too bad tho, factory reset is under "SD card and storage" in the settings menu.

There have been many problems with the TB and data/network problems as of late. I believe it to be because of this new 4G rollout that is coming Thursday, plus the fact we will be seeing an OTA quite soon they are propbably preparing the network for that, thus giving all of us all these weird problems that we have been having.
(everything above is just rumor and based on my 100% factual opinions )

You are describing the same problem I'm having and I also live in NYC. But, I have no problems getting data when I force the phone into 3G mode only.
I notice the data connection problem even though the 4G symbol is up when I don't have cell reception for a while...like being underground while on the subway.
Turning the phone off and on or rebooting seems to fix the issue. I'm thinking the phone has handoff issues with whatever tower is near by.
Anywho, I did the "data fix" by changing the EVDO setting from eHRPD to Rev. A. I dunno if that'll do anything.
Hi there.
Just got a new HTC Titan on WP7.5, and it has come to my attention that annoyingly, whenever I try to download anything from the Marketplace through 3G, it sticks on the "Downloading..." screen. However, when I attempt to do this via WiFi, it downloads without trouble. I've had a look at a couple of threads with this same problem and there doesn't seem to be a true fix available for Windows Phone users. I've tried hard resetting the handset to no avail, and it's worth noting that the content I'm attempting to download is under 20mb.
Secondly, I seem to be having a problem connecting to Facebook/WLM Chat; on 3G, it connects successfully, displays online contacts and receives messages. Only problem being that, given about 30 seconds, it will randomly disconnect me. This leads me to have to resync both my Facebook and Live account for the chat to work again... for another 30 seconds.
Again, this works flawlessly when done through Wi-Fi - so you're most likely thinking that it's down to the network, right? Well, the browser works just fine on 3G at all times, so I'm unsure whether to blame the ISP for this one.
Any help would strongly be appreciated.

Can no-one actually offer any type of solution here?
So for the past 10 days or so, my Focus has really hit the dump and hasn't let me see not even 10 seconds of video on 3G (Full signal btw), can't stream music from MetroRadio, Last.FM for more than 10-15 seconds, and take a really long time to load websites.
It worked fine before, plenty good infact. I would hit 2-5 mbps on a good day. Lately though, nothing I do about it fixes the problem.
I have called AT&T about 3 times, when today, finally decided to visit a Warranty Center of theirs in San Antonio, TX, which is 4 hours from here. We don't have one locally, so I have to drive to another city.
Was just wondering if anyone else is experiencing problems with the Focus? Does it have poor radio cells? Voice and text works perfectly good, just data.
AT&T themselves have reset their network around me, nothing has changed.
They reset my phone about 2-3 times, nothing has changed.
They replaced my SIM card, nothing has changed.
Anyone experiencing a problem or suggest anything? I really would like everything to be working again.
For references if anyone is curious, I'm hitting 0.30-0.60 mbps. Slower than EDGE, which is unacceptable!
Anyone? Really would appreciate the help, please.
Have you tried messing around with the diagnosis menu? If you haven't, it's worth a shot.
Install the diagnosis app by typing in ##634# into the phone keypad. Then, open up the diagnosis app and enter in *#32489#. Hit the back button (on screen, not hardware back button) until you see the option 8 that says phone control. From this screen, press 8,3,5,2,3,[END]. Then restart. If you couldn't follow these instructions, here is the original post. You can also try the dual mode detailed in that same post. Good luck!
Yes, I have tried all the diagnostic codes I could find to fix, but nothing has changed. I have also done all types of resets, (Soft, Hard, Full, Flash original stock rom) but nothing has changed..
My only other guess would be that you got throttled by ATT due to high data usage. My brother was throttled and began getting around 0.5 down. However, you said that you have tried working with ATT on the problem so that can't be it..
I have had 3g slowness too the past month or so. I have tried using the device codes to change the speed of the 3g and that seemed to help a bit. But the odd thing i notice alot is that if I plugin my headphones it sometimes gets very slow after that to the point that I can barely text message or receive emails. At that point i have to reboot the phone and then the speed goes back to normal.
If your phone is slow, try rebooting it and see if that fixes your speed.
I can't figure this out to save my life. 6039s Android 6. No root. No special mods. Nothing. Bone stock.
In the middle of the day today I suddenly started getting a horrendous wakelock. I thought it was a Google Play issue but it turned out that it's some kind of mobile data issue.
My LTE connection isn't working right. It's slow for some apps and non existent for others.
For instance my sports score app loads at 2G speeds. My web browser seems to work okay. But my t mobile tuesday's app gives me a big warning that I'm not connected to the internet at all. And the Google Play app gives me all kinds of warning that I need to have background data enabled to use Play, but background data IS enabled.
Making matters worse, when this issue is happening my phone enters a miserable and unstoppable wake lock that drains the battery so fast it hard to even charge it. And it saps up the system resources to heavily that the phone slows down to a crawl and can't be used for anything else. Not to mention the phone gets insanely hot from the excess processing. Could a tower issue that's causing a connection problem cause such a wakelock?
I tried doing a reset of the radio connections in settings, but I don't think it actually did anything because all my settings and connections were still there. Still had my wifi password, BT connections, etc.
I tried wiping cache in recovery but it didn't work. Says it did it. But on reboot I didn't get the "app 1 of 82 is updating". So I don't think it actually did that either.
I cannot figure this out to save my life.
I thought maybe it was a tower issue. But my wife has the exact same phone and it's working fine. I called T Mobile and they said they are having a tower problem near my house, but still...wife's phone is fine. And I've seen this problem now in 3 different locations across about a 5-6 mile range. So I have to have been on more than 1 tower in that time.
When I turn on wifi and have a wifi connection the problem goes away entirely. That's telling me that the problem is the system getting upset that it doesn't have a solid internet connection. Changing the connection to 3G or 2G does not solve the issue.
The problem lasted the whole second half of yesterday, was fine overnight while I left wifi on, was fine on day 2 when I was back to 4G networks, and then suddenly is back again.
Anyone got any ideas or suggestions?
Is there some server android is trying to stay in constant contact with that I can block the connection to? Perhaps limit background data to something? I can't figure out what.
This update was irrelevant. Turned out to be a red herring. Still having the problem.
Nevermind this update. STill having the problem
I give up. I'm about to throw the phone against a wall to smash it. The system has become totally loused up. Whenever it goes into these goofy wakelock states the system is so overtaxed that everything takes forever to process. Nothing solves it.
And its' getting worse. Now I have oddly limited connectivity.
T Mobile's tech support was useless. They had me thinking it was a tower issue. That was 3 days ago. Now suddenly they have no records of a tower issue in my area over the last week.
I can make voice calls. But I cant' send text messages. I can use my web browser to search the internet, but not SOME apps that need data like a weather app or Google Play. Other apps work fine to pull data.
Yet it says I have an LTE connection the whole time.
This is the single weirdest issue I've ever seen on Android.
What in the hell could have just jumped in out of nowhere and started causing these issues?
Hi folks! I have a Samsung galaxy s10e that's given me almost no trouble up until a day or two ago. Anything internet-related on my phone is suddenly working very slowly, if at all. Google is hit-or-miss and some of my phone games that require internet connection are almost unplayable now. It's not having trouble connecting, it just sucks even when showing full bars https://nox.tips/ https://xender.vip/ .
It's not the wifi, because all my other devices and friend's devices have no issues at my place and the problem persists whether I'm at home, work, or out and about. I've tried restarting the phone, resetting the network settings, phone is fully updated from what I can see, and I don't have tons of apps open. This came on very suddenly (in the middle of playing a video, no less) and I'm not sure where to go from here. Anyone have any insight or advice?
