I've installed the following in order... OnetimeInitializer, Setup Wizard, Google Services Framework, then Vending. Then I saw that it wasn't updating so I tried many times getting the Marketupdater.apk but every single time it told me that it had a parsing error. (I don't even know what parse it) and so here I am. I am using an Elocity A7+. It is running Android 2.2 and so is ElocityPlusMod and that GooglePlayStore works perfectly (also runs 2.2). So can anyone give me a step by step to getting the marketupdater or just Google Play Store? Thanks

Everytime I try to download anything from google play market it says it cannot with error -101. I have tried clear data, force stopping and clearing data on google services framework but nothing seems to work. It also happens on other roms, be it gb or ics. It seems my google account has been blocked?
Does anyone know how to fix this?
Thanks

You could get the apk from another source while you wait it out

It'll resolve itself over time. This has been discussed before and is a volume download restriction implemented by Google.
Wait it out, there's no other way to solve it on your end.

I thought it maybe something like that. Times a healer

So a volume download ban, huh?
I just reflashed the rom - had to do it twice because first time the a2sd got screwed. On the first time, though, all the apps restored and installed fine(until the memory filled up, damnit), on the 2nd go there's sh!tload of memory available but nothing downloads because of the 101 error.
Does that make sense?
And how long do I have to wait 'ere it wears out?
thx..
I don't think that the 101 error is anything to do with a download limit - unless Google use it as a general "Something went wrong" error message.
I hardly ever install new apps, so my downloads from the Market (still can't bring myself to call it Google Play) are minimal. This morning I reloaded Reaper onto my phone, signed in to my Google account and started getting the 101 messages whenever I tried doing anything on the Market.
Ran a Factory Reset on my phone, signed in again and it worked perfectly. The only difference was that the first time I enabled my WiFi first, the second time I did it all over the mobile network.
Interesting. I think I used wifi on the first time and just mobile on the second time. And then, later enabled wifi on the 2nd, too. No difference there - it D/L'd everything nicely on the first time and totally blows on the 2nd - no matter what.
edit1:
mkay, seems that the error could be related to the version of the market. I've got 3.4.6 now, but 3.5.15 seems to be needed to use the market correctly. Trying out now, will post back how it went.
edit2:
Yup, that worked.
The final verdict: Google play won't allow you to access if it is outdated. That's where the error 101 comes from.
Got the new version from there
Got error 921 after installing 3.5.15
clearing google play store and google services framework data solved this issue.
I was getting error -101 on Store updates after an upgrade to 4.0.4, and error 921 after forcing an upgrade of Google P* Store to 3.5.15. Clear data/force stop on Google P* Store and Google Services Framework, either with or without a reboot, did not seem to help. I deleted my Google account from the phone and re-added it, and that seemed to fix it.
remove google account?
That's a tough thing to ask.
To remove google account, would mean for me to do a Factory reset.
also getting 921 error on Vending 3.5.16
I got that before , but worked straight after a restart.

I guess its an issue with some particular builds of google play, can u check your version? I also had the same issue but all of a sudden it started working again and when i check the version play store seemed to be updated to 3.5.15..
Error 101 SOLVED
I have phones and tablets with Android 2.2 and 2.3 . Those with Android 2.3 expose the 101 error.
I disinstalled updates (Settings, Applications, All, Google Play) for Google Play
Then I cleared data for Google P* Store and Google Services Framework (Settings, Applications, All, Google Services Framework , clear all data)
Then I rebooted the phone. And it works. Download and updates work.
It works also for a Smart TV BOX from China with 2.3.1 loaded.
Hey people!
I just flashed the Gapps Manager generated zip intended for my Samsung GT-S6102 (Android 2.3.6) over TechnoDUOS1.5 S1525 and everything went down without any trouble.
I had no problem updating Hangouts and installing Youtube, besides Google Market upgrades itself automatically to Play Store.
However, whenever I try to install Google Play Services through play store, it pops up an error 941. This is needed to run both Youtube and Hangouts. Google Maps on the other hand, pops up a different error: "Not compatible with other applications that use the same user-shared ID"
I've already tried almost everything, from blocking Market store from updating, to placing the Google Play Services apk manually to both /data/app and /system/app and changing the permissions manually. All to no avail. I also tried editing /data/system/packages.xml and experimented deleting all <shared-user> tag related to google services framework (which I take is the entry related to google play services). Still nothing.
Is there anything else I can try?
Thank you
Hi everyone, I was wanting to know what all the different components of Google are on Gingerbread 2.3.4 (LG Enlighten vs700 phone). I ask because Google Play Store doesn't work. It keeps prompting me, "Sorry! The application google play store (process com.android.vending) has stopped unexpectedly. please try again. force close is the only option when i get this message, and it does reappear.
I have spent weeks on this - there are hundreds maybe even thousands of forums out there all devoted to this error. Seems like a huge volume of phones experience this error. There are a few fixes, but it only seems to work for a handful of people who have this problem.
What have I tried?
Factory reset (several times)
Reinstalling google play store, services, and market with the latest or a different version than what's on there now
youtube fix - I even reinstalled youtube
at this point, i did another factory reset last night just to start over with a clean slate - youtube works wonderfully. i have email on it. as a work around i use the amazon app store and 1 market store for apps, but it's a real bother with no google play and constantly getting the errors.
the strange part is i have a second identical phone (which is my experimental phone) - which does NOT get this error. I have no idea why one does, and the other doesn't.
the reason i was wondering about the components and versioning is as a last attempt to fix this (before i just live with it) - i was going to reinstall ALL the components google uses for the playstore to work, manually. i don't necessarily want to install the latest - i want to install the version specific to gingerbread 2.3.4. i have looked and looked online but i haven't been able to find any kind of component list (much to my surprise) the two components i have figured out are:
google play services 4.3.24 (android 2.3+)
google play 3.5.15 (android 2.3+)
Hey guys,
I have no idea, in what section to post this thing, I am new on XDA... If you know better, just move this thread pls :3
And: please excuse my english, please correct me if there are some mistakes (and there will be )
My data:
I have a Samsung Galaxy A5 / A500FU, this is not very popular and there are actually no working Custom-ROMs out there.
I rooted it via Odin and I flashed a custom-recovery on it (TWRP), this was also pretty hard to find but it's working...
It is running on Android Stock Lollipop 5.0.2 (No updates available, it's running on latest)
How this happened:
I used Lucky Patcher to try out some patches on Google Play Store, so I first started the "In-App Emulation patch" and selected to save a backup of the apk,
to make shure I could just restore it, if anything goes wrong. Then, I installed the individual patch for the Play Store named "Support.InApp.LVL", after nothing changed on the Play Store,
I think I patched some sort of Services from Google Play too but I remember that it threw an error, so nothing changed on that. I discovered the option of installing a modified Play Store in Lucky Patcher and I realized that this patch was not neccessary so I restored the old Play Store. Then there were the first Errors I dont quite remember it, but It should be "Google Play Services has stopped" or something like that... Also the Play Store didn't worked then, I searched some on the Internet and I found a solution, where I just have log out from my google account and reconnect then. This were the point, where my problems really started. I spent the last 24 hours on searching for any kind of solution for my problem, because I just cannot log into my account. Also the whole time error's were thrown:
"Google Services was stopped"
"com.process.google.gapps stopped"
I tried a lot of things to solve that. I tried about 30 possible solutions for the diffrent errors, here are some(In order):
- I cleared data & cache from the google apps like Play Store, Play Services and GoogleServicesFramework
- I restarted my device after every change I made
- I tried a Soft-Reset (Press Off + Volume-Down for a few seconds until it restarts)
- I tried the Play-Store Fixer
- I disabled some Google Apps and I found out that the Disabling of "GoogleServicesFramework" is solving the "com.process.google.gapps stopped"-Error so far.
- I cleared the hosts.txt and disabled any sort of VPN and my Adblocker
- I uninstalled Updates from Google-Apps, because I thought that they would update themselfes to the current supported versions and I restarted my phone a couple times.
- I uninstalled complete Google-Apps, starting at the GoogleServicesFramework, which obviously causes some problems. I downloaded some apk's from it from the Internet (googleservicesframework.apk) and moved them into /system/app and restarted every time... After that I got a very old interface on logging into my google account, the error "com.process.google.gapps stopped" still consisted. After disabling the GoogleServicesFramework again, it solved the error again, but I still can't login into my account! I tried that downloading a few times (GoogleServicesFramework, Google Play Services & Google Play Store), but nothing helped. I also installed apk's from a Gapps-Package I got, with a few more Apps(anything that could have to do with Google Login), still the same.
- I flashed some Gapps-Packages with TWRP, that brought me back the lollipop login-screen, but the errors consist.
Now:
I can't do much with my phone, I'm being spammed with thoose Errors
"Google Services was stopped"
"com.process.google.gapps stopped"
And a lot of Apps are telling me that Google Play Services have to be updated, but to update it I have to log in, and that doenst work as you know already...
I really hope anyone out there has a solution for me
Thanks in advance, Dennis
P.S: I really dont want to make a factory-reset, also I dont think it will solve the error...
Xda is a development site made for developers, and we don't discuss or condone Warez. Lucky patcher is Warez and steals paid features from developers.
Sorry, but you'll need to seek help elsewhere.

My pet project for reading week was to root my phone for the first time, and I've now been stumbling over errors for around 5 days straight. This is the first time I've hit a wall that I don't think I can just mash random buttons in hoping of getting the order right. Please walk me through this fix like I'm 7 yrs old so I know how to fix things in the future But I need to fix fast as my phone is essential to my work flow, and being able to use the Play Store would be nice.
DEVICE: My phone is a Nexus 5x now running PureNexus.
HISTORY: So to start I unlocked my bootloader, flashed TWRP and have a back up of my Stock ROM as well as a back up of when I finally got PureNexus working if all things go sour. However I'd really love to not reset. When I finally got it working (after like 3 days), I was getting the Error: 497 from the Google Play Store. After fumbling around xda and my settings, I cleared the Data and Cache of Google Play Store and Google Play services apps. Nada. So I show the system apps and cleared the data of the following apps: Google Play services, Google Play Store, Media Storage, Google Services Framework, Download Manager. I then force stopped and disabled Google Play Store. Then I reboot my phone and Uninstalled all the updates on Google Play Store.
(In hindsight, this was all probably WAY overkill ^^^)
Edit: I then successfully re-updated to the newest version via apk. I also tried flashing a copy of Dynamic GApps in hopes that it would fix it.
THE ERROR: Now when I open Google Play Store I get "Error while retrieving information from server. [RH-01]" and it kicks me to the sidepanel, which displays my email but not my Google account. It is now Version: 7.5.08.M-all [0] [PR] 146162341
Any ideas? As far as I can tell, the Error 497 should be fixed because I've totally obliterated all data that could be associated with the app. However, I have no idea how to reinstall Google Play Store because it's the app I use to install things. Thanks for helping! And if I need to re-tag the title of this thread, PLEASE let me know so I can do that.
Hi !
Remove your google account from settings/accounts , reboot your device , add it back , this may be related to a buggy gapps pack you have used , try open gapps micro
Good luck !
