GS3 - Android General

http://www.tgeltaayehxnx.com/ yeah it says "the next galaxy"
If it has a quad core a new touchwiz and android 4.0 I'm sold ... gs2 wasn't that big of a leap from gs1 either

I am starting to think that they will launch the S3 after Iphone. And now just the Next Galaxy phone

Yeah lol ^^

Iphone 4S vs the Galaxy S2

So here it is - the competitor for the Galaxy S2.
Worthy competitor? Not yet. Maybe Siri is as good as they demoed, but rest of the specs still just barely match the S2!
S2 still rocks! And looks like it will continue to......
not impressed with iphony4s
http://www.engadget.com/2011/10/04/iphone-4s-vs-iphone-4-the-tale-of-the-tape/
yeA!
S2 rocks!
But Siri indeed looks like an amazing feature
I think today it was majorly about iOS5 rather than the new iPhone
Hardware-s2
Software-iPhone
Clear winners.
I said no LTE and I was right and now every one knows the true from not true.

Galaxy Nexus or Galaxy S II?

I am pretty happy with my 4month old galaxy s ii, but does anyone has this crazy thought of selling your galaxy S II to switch over to Galaxy nexus? Or will you stick with your current Galaxy S II?
I was thinking it may be a good time to experience pure google, but the hardware is certainly losing out to Galaxy S II.
I'll probably stick with my SGSII if we get ICS ( Which will probably happen ). 4,65 inch is too big for me .

I'm going to swap my sgs2 for a galaxy note! Because of the screen size It's likely to get ics quite early. Plus most of the hardware is same or better than sgs2.

There's a good chance that we'll get a basic Android 4.0 port from the Nexus Prime before we get the Touchwiz version of it, so I'm sticking with the SGSII. Best of both worlds hopefully!

I am trying so hard to resist selling my S2 to buy a Galaxy Nexus when it is released!
Nope sticking with the SGSII, the camera on the Nexus is only 5MP which is very surprising and clearly not as good as the SGSII camera, the screen too is just too big.
Will probably wait for the Galaxy S3 next year,im amazed at some people jumping ship all the time, they must have plenty of money too.
The camera(front and back going by the sample pics ) on the Galaxy Nexus is is also worse then Galaxy S2....So definitlly not.

No way of selling my SGS2 for a 4.65" nexus.
Too BIG
The only thing I don't like about Samsung is that it takes forever to do a single update… ~.~.

Exactly...but especially those guys saying the galaxy note with the 5.3inch screen is ok size. Excuse me, but I like putting my phone in my jean pocket, and its already tight with the sgs2.....
I have a SGS2 but if I had the money I buy immediatley a Galaxy Nexus xD
Waiting to see how ICS will be implemented on the SGS2.
ICS native rez is now 1280x720 which our belived SGS2 is not.
And the soft keys...well no more physical keys on ICS

I bought to my wife the new xperia mini ST15i with 1ghz and i can say i am impressed and by default screen off animation .
5mp camera hd,fast amazing!!!
I'm ready to buy one for myself too
Considering it, as I'm tired of having to wait for each update for android. I also doubt the OMAP4460 is going to be any slower than the Exynos under ICS.
Definitley not.. I love my s2 and judging by the reviews of galaxy nexus, it's not worth it..

I'm still a bit disappointed the SGS2 didn't have NFC
OMAP4460 Is pretty much the same cpu performance, grathics will be a bit worse, but more highend games have powervr versions so it will be much of a muchness.
Though due to the higher screen resolution might be a bit slower.
I am very tempted by the galaxy nexus, ics quickly and ota updates from google, go fast updates!
We shall see how much it costs, my mother wants an android phone so maybe I can flog my sgs2 to her.

I got the captivate in January, followed by the HTC inspire on release day, followed by the infuse on release day as well. 3 weeks after I got infuse, I returned it and got my S2 in June and for the first time ever, i was, and still am extremely happy with my S2 and have no intentions of upgrading until the S3. No need to. This phone is the bomb in my opinion. I would like to try ice cream sandwich, not going to buy a phone just for a new operating system, which with eventually get ported to the S2 and definitely be shipped on the S3

Best Android Phone?

So I was wondering what would be the best phone running android right now?
-best graphics
-best cpu
-easier to hack/mod
?
IMO it's the Samsung Galaxy S2. Although, some will argue the Nexus.
If you can wait until May, the S3 may be a contender though...

I agree... the S2 is just too damn awesome. Too bad the battery is the only (and a BIG one at that) disappointment!
Have you seen any un-rumoured pics of the S3 though? Please point me to some links, if yes.

Yea... S2 FTW!! and Note FT~bigger~W!!
I haven't used the Note yet; but seeing that it's S2's BIG Brother, there's no doubt that it's a tad bit more awesome
Had I waited 5 months, I'd have bought Note early this month for the same price that I paid for my S2 back then (July 2011). However, Note won't fit my pocket; so I'm not cryin' like a baby over this.
My answer to the thread: There's no real "BEST Android phone" in the market yet. Android has a long way to go... So, Google.. if you (or your robots) are reading this post, improve Android fast.. real fast. And solve the damn battery drain issues. Pleeeeeeeeeeeeeease.
Sweet. So I do have the best phone out there right now.

Agreed that the S2 is probably the best Android phone at the moment. And your battery life issues are whisked away with updates, so don't worry about that.
See my signature, the SGSII remains the best of them all
My vote has to go to the Samsung Galaxy SII .
I'll buck the trend and say Galaxy Nexus. The SII is a very close second though.
yes i will agree with everion the galaxy s 2
S2 is the current, GLOBAL standard; and, though I don't fully like Android for battery life and mostly touch-only input, I DO like S2 myself.
Samsung Galaxy S2 is my favourite
for my, galaxy note

What phone should i buy ???

hi guys
i want to buy a galaxy S2
so should i buy one form At&T or T-Mo or Sprint or globel verson ????
Why buy a S2 when S3 was just released? Or you could buy the HTC One X.
wait for the S3 to come. and the htc one-phones are probably a bit better than the s2. but max. a bit
WAIT for the global galaxy sIII to be released and then buy that
samsung s2
Buy a Galaxy Note
I would Buy a Galaxy note as i had a brand new nexus with official ics and sold it and bourght a note and couldnt go back to a smaller screen then ive rooted and flashed stunner ics i woudnt swap it for any phone now i have a quadrant score of 44130 blows my nexus out the water.massive thanks to all at xda as i knew nothing about phone development untill i stumbled apon this forum and now im flashing custom ics roms
If you must get a GS2, go for the "Skyrocket" model, it's CPU is clocked to 1.5 versus all other models being clocked at 1.2
thanks for the advise but you guys change the topic
i think that S3 is not very impress compare to S2 with the price 600 euro
guys on here telling you get s3.... is nothing so special about s3 apart from faster cpu ....and the design of s2 is much better than s3
Go with tmobile and save yourself some money...
Which phone should I buy now?
I've had the HTC Wildfire since last year but I'm getting pretty bored of it now because of the slow processor, graphics and small screen.
Basically, I need a big screen, good camera(capable of HD recording), nice multimedia features and a decent processor in my next phone.
I'm thinking of getting the Sony Ericsson Xperia Neo V. Is it a good phone or should I go for something else?
Galaxy S3.
Easy, Global, more development and support. But Galaxy Nexus would make better sense with updates
Sent from my HTC One X
I'd also go for global for the dev/support.
If you have already invested tons into micro sdcard, go for sgs3, note or sgs2.
If not and you want style at the expense of no storage/battery upgrade options .. go for one x.
Samsung Galaxy SII even if for samsung upgrade reason maybe I'll chose HTC One X
Just buy the samsung galaxy siii.. man.. that phone is awesome .. just like a portable computer..

I know that Samasung Galaxy S4 will be the most powerful mobile in the market but i cant sell my Galaxy S3 because i love my phone very much.
neither.
I always say no i wont because i love my phone so much..... but i probably will just to have the newest bad A toy.
Yea. My kid will go from old g2x to my old s3. Won't be any selling...but will be moving on to new toy.

I don't think I'm selling my i9300. Yes, the S4's specs look attrative (Google it, someone with an S4 ran AnTuTu benchmark). It supposidely has an Exynos 5410, 2GB RAM, LTE, and a PowerVR 544 GPU. But honestly, I think it's gotten to a point where the S3 onwards are powerful "enough." I game heavily on my phone, but I don't feel like blowing money on an S4 when the S3 does everything I want:
- Powerful CPU/GPU (at least for the international model)
- I wish I had 2GB of RAM, but 1GB is enough, and I could just buy a Note 2 if anything.
- Memory card slot
- USB OTG
- FM Radio (International model)
- Great camera
Plus Samsung brought Jelly Bean to the GS2 i9100, so that means we're going to be up to date with the S3. I feel like the S3 just came out, and there's no point to buying the S4 unless you skipped the S3.
I still have my galaxys1 b***** runs better than 99% of these new smart phones
