in a loop and no recovery :( - Xoom Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

hi, ive not tried updating xoom for over a month now, i was on nightly 34 or something, anyway it kept saying there was a system update so i agreed to update, it kept downloading then saying verification failed.
I went to a thread on here where it said it had stock ICS and downloaded it, put it on sd card and did the usual procedures, it rebooted and it now stuck on a screen with loads of blue, green, red and orange squares appearing, like a loading screen or something, was stuck there for like 20 mins so i reset using power and volume up, then tried to enter recovery with volume down but it gets stuck on a screen "starting fastboot protocol support" and goes no further, can any1 help me out here please? thank you

If you are unable to boot into the recovery you are going to have to flash a new recovery using Fastboot. Check out the guides on how to flash a recovery using fastboot under the dev sub forums. There are guides there on how to get to fastboot from a cold boot as well as the commands that you use use with cmd on your PC.

Help! Nexus S 4G wont boot, boot animations loop!

Hi, hope Im not double posting or anything, but I havent found a solution to my problems yet.
I recently purchased Nexus S 4G, thinking it was working, but it is not. It powers up, but doesn't get to the main system. It sticks on the Nexus colorful flashing things and wont get past that. Sometimes it sticks on the Google logo. Is there anything I can check, or somehow restore it or something to get it to boot up? I can also get to the fast boot menu, but when I get there, and try recovery, it just gives me the sad dead Android with his tummy open with a red triangle.

If you can get into fastboot just flash CWM http://www.clockworkmod.com/rommanager and SU http://androidsu.com/superuser/
Put SU on phone SD card
Reboot phone into bootloader mode
Open a command prompt and go to the folder in where CWM is
Now execute this fastboot command to flash the CWM recovery. Change the filename to the file you have downloaded.
fastboot flash recovery recovery-clockwork-touch-6.0.1.0-crespo4g.img
Now go to recovery.
There, using the options, navigate to the install the superuser zip file
Reboot.

recovery boot issues - red triangle, then reboot

I'm having issues getting recovery to work on a Verizon version xoom. I first flashed CWM version 4.0.0.4. The first time I tried to boot into it, it was stuck on the android with the red triangle for a long time before finally getting into it (coincidentally when I was hitting the volume key, don't know if that's related). Anyway, since then I haven't been able to get into it. It will be suck on the red triangle screen for a minute or two before rebooting into the stock rom (I'm running stock ICS). Since then, I've tried flashing the new TWRP 2.2.2 or whatever version it is and it has no effect. It's still doing the same thing. Any clue what's wrong?
So what I'm reading is suggesting that the android guy I'm seeing is the stock recovery. I'm not sure how that's happening. I'm installing the recovery using fastboot on my PC and being in the bootloader on my xoom. The prompts on both appear to confirm success.
I haven't tried this yet as I'm at work, but I think I've got the issue sorted. The following is what appears to be happening from what I've read.
1. I've still got the custom recovery stalled. When the Android guy pops up, one needs to press volume up to enter the options. Otherwise, it reboots.
2. The recovery flashes are taking because I'm booting back into the rom after a flash. The system's built in recovery protection is re-flashing the original recovery at that point.
3. To make my CWM/TWRP/whatever flash stick, I'll need to power down and then boot directly into the recovery.
I'll post again tonight to say if this works. Hopefully this thread can help out others who have the same issue.
If you don't get that to work fastboot img from link..

[Q] Red Triangle on Android Man

I have a Xoom WiFi on Android 4.1.2
I was trying to Unlock, Flash Recovery, Root and then Flash a Rom. I have Flashed on my phone a couple of times so I am a little familiar with the process.
I did the following:
1.
adb reboot bootloader
fastboot oem unlock
fastboot reboot
2.
adb reboot bootloader
fastboot flash recovery "name of file".img. (the file i used was "recovery-clockwork-touch-6.0.3.1-wingray.img").
3.
Once you have verification on your device that this has been flashed, reboot your device by holding volume up + power.
Then 3 seconds after you see the Motorola logo, hit volume down. You should now see "Android Recovery" in the top left corner. Hit volume up to boot into recovery.
This is where things go wrong.
Upon reboot,
I press down volume upon seeing the logo.
It then says Android Recovery.
I then press up volume.
then it says entering Android Recovery Mode
reading ODM Fuse:1
Then the Green Android man shows up with the red triangle.
It sits there for a while then boots into Android normally.
I have been searching for a solution since this morning. Everything I found about this has not helped.
Earlier in the day I did Flash a different Recovery so I think I have two. I installed the ROM manger app. It shows two installed.
ClockworkMod Recovery
Team Win Recovery Project (TWRP)
I am stuck as to what to do... Please help.
Thanks
Jim

One of the files link is broken.
The requested URL /atftas/OEM/Motorola/XOOM/Xoom-Universal-Root.zip2 was not found on this server.
I have another problem.
Now I have two devices. If I unplug the Xoom it still finds emulator 5554. What is emulator 5554?
Thanks
Jim
I got around the emulator 5554 problem by using the -d option. I followed everything and all went fine. I installed the app Root Checker Basic but it says Sorry! this device does not have proper root access.
All steps completed with no errors.
I guess I'm stuck again.
Jim
I flashed back to stock. Did all the steps again and the same thing.
I tried several more times and it still would not work.
I went to another site and downloaded the root.zip and it worked this time. The root file on this site would not work for for some reason.
The Android man with the red triangle problem is also gone. Not sure what fixed it. I assume that it was because I flashed back to stock and used a different root.zip file.
Thanks for all the help
Jim

Need help flashing Katkiss 6.0.1 , Recovery Partition Not Found / Nothings Working

So, I just decided to try and Flash the old TF101 with Katkiss 6.0.1 and Gapps, but I always get stuck on the same problem.
My TF101 is running Android 4.0.3 ICS and USB Debugging is on
I downloaded TWRP app on the transformer, as well as the latest .blob flash file through the app.
Before this, I rooted the tablet using Kingroot.apk, which worked. When I went to flash the tablet with the recovery, the app noted "Recovery Partition not found".
I tried to boot into recovery mode on my own, (Pressing Pwr + Volume down , Then hitting Volume Up), The android screen popped, up and then flashed to a fallen android with a red triangle.... The screen stays on this for a minute and then boots into the normal system. I can't even boot into recovery through ADB, using the
Code:
adb reboot recovery
, The tablet will just reboot normally, not into recovery mode.
The Device does recognize through ADB....
Is my recovery partition just non existent? Even when I just let the system though without pressing volume up, it only gives me the option of (Android) or (Erase Data). when I click erase data, ill stay on the asus loading screen indefinitely and nothing will happen until i turn it off and on.
I just cant seem to boot into TWRP for some reason, and that means I just cant install the downloaded custom ROM.
How Can I fix this and boot into TWRP? I've tried for hours and have been hung up due to the same problem each time, even after rooting.
Did you already solve that problem? I also need a solution. Thanks

Huawei Watch 2 Pro (Shawshark) stuck in horrible bootloop

My relatives have gotten this watch gifted to them a while back but it was in chinese so to get it to English I had to unlock bootloader and flash the room. But while doing so I by mistake flashed twrp instead of booting into it on the Recovery Partition right after unlocking bootloader and after rebooting, it was stuck in a horrible bootloop. Why is it horrible?
So the problem is, it keeps booting into twrp, fails to mount data cache and everything, shuts down and reboots again, shows a warning that it can't detect an operating system and continues to boot into the same twrp recovery and so on. When I try to boot into bootloader, it says to go to g.co/ABH and read instructions to proceed, but after holding down the button to continue to boot, it goes back to the same bootloop.
I cannot boot it into bootloader or get it into fastboot, I can't do anything in twrp and I can't boot into os (cause of course, there is none). Does anyone know how I can fix this? I've been struggling for 4 hours with this today. I'm really scared that I've completely bricked it and can't restore it .
I can see it in adb devices while it's in twrp and twrp is freaking out then shutting down, but I can't even side load a rom to even install something I can boot into.
Link me a thread if there is one where this problem gets fixed or help me please. Thank you!
