How do you silence ALL the sounds?
Even with Silent selected Alarms and Media sounds still go off.
How can you be in a meeting or some place and select silent knowing its not really silent?
Settings--> sounds--> volume--> (turn everything down)

If you download the app "root tools" from the market you can turn it off. Its not an option on the main screen, though. once in the app, hit the menu button on your phone, go to settings, and its at the bottom of the options list.
you can toggle it on and off!
::thanks?did this help?::
Ya I'm rooted,
I tried what you said but it won't let me rename / delete,

You need to remount the /system partition as read/write in order to rename or delete the sound file.

So I'm using beautiful widgets and I have a widget set for vibrate mode. Whenever I put it in that it shows the icon at the top but my phone actually never vibrates when I get a message or anything. Anyone know how to fix this? Thanks
go to settings, then sound settings, the where it says vibrate click it and select tthe always option instead of only In slilent mode, that shoud take care of it

Thanks Now when my phone is using void lock it looks like it is dead if someone tries to mess around on it.
What about an app that shuts it off permanently? When I put it to sleep and wake it back up... poof, lights are back on.

No matter if I turn it off I keep getting popup notifications about Wi-fi possibilities when in range, and eventually it will even turn itself back on automatically.
Go into wifi settings, advanced settings... turn off reminders.
