[BOOTANIMATION] 4 versions up! UNCROPPED DroidDance, and ApplePiss /w droiddance loop - AT&T Samsung Galaxy S II Skyrocket SGH-I727

Figured id post these..
Had the Droid Dance LWP way back, and ofc ddnt support HDPI
Figured id be able to find a decent bootanim of it but that was harder than anticipated
Closest i got was an HDPI cropped version that didnt look great..
So with just a lil photoshop cs5 i stretched it to sorta uncrop it.
Also packaged with applepiss bootanim as looping, couldnt stand the black screen on long loads, just needs to b blurred abit in spots to be 100% xD this is 5min of fun here.
Im including 4 varients il upload the 3 missing when i reinstall dropbox xD not near a PC and not much i can upload to from my phone xD
4 im gonna upload are:
DroidDance Looping bootscreen *UPLOADED somewhat, read notes
DroidDance Looping bootscreen BRANDED (sII X logo) *uploaded
ApplePiss /DroidDance Looping
ApplePiss/DroidDance Looping BRANDED
Unbranded, as loop for ApplePiss (google it.. been ported 1000x, few by myself..)
http://db.tt/LuEebe81
Branded same thing
http://db.tt/LZKpOfxP
Uploaded better screenshots to dropbox xD cant remember pass to photobucket..
For those like me who couldnt see the screens
http://db.tt/ClE73Lqq
http://db.tt/LAC2BLm4
http://db.tt/zfANeU3k
****NOTE PLZ READ
iff the uncropped/unbranded doesnt work, unzip and rezip as "store" or use 7za.exe, and use this script with bootanimation.zip and 7za in same folder:
Save below as whatever.bat in same folder as 7za
@echo off # (just because showing directory is more annoying)
7Za -x bootanimation.zip out
Ren bootanimation.zip bootanimation.bak
Cd out
..\7Za -a -tzip -mx0 ..\bootanimation.zip *
Cd..
del /q /f /s out\*
rd /s out
Echo.
Echo.
Echo Done
Pause
I had to compress from my phone xD cant do store archives lowest is 3 i believe..
Il recompress from pc later and update the post sorry for the hassle

Great work! I'll check it out

Usually i put the mod or boot in my sd card after i start in recovery mode,i install what i need( no wipe) and reboot and restart .but when i try it........don t work.you have idea?
Sent from my GT-I9100 using xda premium

Use root explorer and move to /system/media
Set permissions rw-r--r-- (644)
Reboot, id repack the non-branded one though xD might not load

I'm on a skyrocket do I move it to sytem/media also? If so is that all I need to do. Or is it flashable for skyrocket? Thanks bro
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I727 using xda premium

After reading a bit more I think this may be a bit advanced for me lol
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I727 using xda premium

Move to system/media and make sure permissions are set, theirs guides all over the forum, its just like any other bootscreen

Ok I have it where it needs to be. Now I'm going to ask this. You guys can ***** at me if you want but I've been married 31 years so I'm immune. How do I make this the go to bootanimation
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I727 using xda premium

Use root explorer, hold the icon, hit set permissions and change to:
rwx
r--
r--
Your rom might use /data/local aswell, you need kernel that supports it aswell

Looks nice. Can i try this on t989?

Thanks for the location, now since I have it and gonna do up my own bootscreen how do I go about pushing it back to my phone?
I think I found out how.
Remount the system partition read-write: adb shell mount -o rw,remount /dev/block/mtdblock3 /system
Push the file across to your device: adb push bootanimation.zip /system/media/bootanimation.zip
At least something to try when i get it done.

I have been using Droid Explorer (free program for your computer) to do this stuff and it seems to work well. Most people seem to use Root Explorer (paid app) on most of the Boot Screen threads.
Has anyone got any boot screens to share? Or show off?

I have one I'm working on all it is is the one file but haven't figured out the desc.txt file to get it right just yet all I get right now is a black screen after the Sony Ericsson screen. After I get it figured out I'll be dropping more bootscreens for everyone.

I have an animation of a fine lady lifting her top as my bootanimation. I was surpriced how easy it is to make your own organisations so i am going to make a few and maybe share them if i find them good enough :-D unfortunately i cant upload a picture showing my animation because i am a new user, and therefore aparantly not allowed to post links...

Found these desc.txt info somewhere in XDA forum.
480 854 = (W x H) Animation size
12 = fps
p = pointer (don't change)
1 = no. of times to play, 0= loop
ani1, ani2, ani3 = folder containing png files (animation)
24 = freeze on last frame in each folder (fps)
Hope that helps..
desc.txt is used by the phone for timing purposes i think.
I used root explorer to import my boot animation, its very easy.
Custom bootlogo jerpelea used this in his custom 2.1
Works also on Se 2.1 just overwrite the bootanimation.zip (located /system/media) with this one

(Tut) How to get back to stock boot animation.

I see a lot of ppl that are on custom roms that would like stock animation and sound back. So i figured i would share this. I take no credit for this. Im just simply rewriting and summarizing what i found over in the Stratosphere section on rootzwiki. Credit goes to icebear for finding the files and to buffaloquinn for posting what to do with them. You can find that thread here
Download stock files here
In Root Explorer (or other file manager)
Navigate to /system/media/
(change to R/W)
In /system/media/
Rename bootsamsung.qmg -> bootsamsung.bak
Rename bootsamsungloop.qmg -> bootsamsungloop.bak
Copy bootani.qmg and bootsamsungloop.qmg (from wherever you have them) to the /system/media/ directory
Rename bootani.qmg -> bootsamsung.qmg
In /system/etc/
Replace the PowerOn.wav file with stock Droid version (If your on infinity rom or another rom that doesnt have boot sound. Then just add the wav file to the /system/etc/ directory)
Change back to R/O
Reboot to the Droid animation
Nice job writing it up but lol that dang boot sound is the first thing I kill. I either edit it out or replace it.
Thanks! Sound is optional though. I just figured i would include how to do it all. If anybody doesn't want any sound then just delete the .wav file in the directory.
Im running tweakstock 1.4 and the audio changed but the animation did not

Well, they're different devices so my tentative answer is no. But we're not going to stop you, so if you want to try it, be my guest. You'd probably get much better feedback in your own forum.

Changing CM10.1 bootanimation

Hello guys,
I want to change the Andromadus CM10.1 (build 12) bootanimation with the R2D2 bootanimation in this link (http://androidbootanimation.com/category/800x480-boot-animations/page/2/)
I have renominated the stock bootanimation.zip in bootanimation_old.zip and copied the one from the site in /system/media and renominated bootanimation.zip
Although it seems I have done something wrong because when i reboot the phone I get stock "Android" bootanimation in boot. I have read many threads but it seems that apart from sense rom, the procedure is just the same.
Is there anyone that can help sort it out?
Thank you
Use a file explorer (such as ES) select the file's "Properties" and change the Permissions to RW-R-R
Swyped on a JellyBam'd, Hotcakez infused, everything's bigger in TX SAMSUNG-SGH-I717 via xda premium
Some bootanimations work for me, and some dont, is it the file problem or what? Both are the same animation, one has the loop section, and I zipped 'em with winrar with store mode, why the loop one doesnt work? I have changed the txt

[BOOTANIMATION] Animus BootScreen

Hi everyone, I'm quite new to this forum (well posting ofc). So if I did anything wrong please instead of giving insulting replies which will teach me nothing, just PM or remind me here. I'll appreciate it.
After I got my GNote and flashed AmniX's Custom Rom, I wanted something else as bootanimation.
Since i'm a major AC Fan, I have decided to port the bootscreen I've used from my Animus PC Interface and put it here.
Screenshot IS Located at the Attachments
This bootanimation will work with any kernal that supports it.
But this will NOT work with ROMs that uses .qmg file as their bootanimation instead of a .zip file. (eg. Stock ROM)
WARNING - DO NOT FLASH THIS IN RECOVERY
Steps in installing:
1. Download the zip file,
2. Copy the zip file into your internal storage of your phone or the external SD card.
3. Using a root explorer or browser, navigate to system/media
4. Make a backup of your bootanimation.zip located in there (Just InCase it does not work for you) and remove it from the system/media folder. - IMPORTANT
5. Copy the bootanimation.zip that you have downloaded into system/media
6. After you have copied the zip file into system/media, change the permission of the zip file to rw-r--r-- (thanks projeto56 for mentioning)
7. Reboot and enjoy your new bootscreen.
Just a heads up, IF the bootscreen did not work, you will have a BLACK SCREEN during bootup, its nothing and it will still be running, just without an animation displaying there.
I WILL NOT BE RESPONSIBLE FOR ANYTHING THAT HAPPEN TO YOUR PHONE. READ THE INSTRUSTION CAREFULLY BEFORE DOING IT.
Nice one
You should also mention about the permissions of the bootanimation file. They should be rw-r--r--

Hey awesome work
Just wondering what about the boot up sound ?
Is it not present ?
Or is it just my issue ?

I think it has a cm kernel by default being a AOSP ROM

There were no boot sound since I don't know what to put there, so its not just you, I guess its everyone
Thanks for the credits. I appreciate it
Also the speed is the same (its around the speed of the gif file), if you want it slower I will need to redo the entire bootanimation again.
Nope, i like it... Was just curious that's all :thumbup:
Good job
Btw the abstergo spelling is misspelled
In the animation text shows absterbo :what:
Lol
