it is recommended that you adjust the following two settings:
Settings->Applications->Development->USB debugging = TICK (Yes)
Settings->Power->Fast boot = UNTICK (No)
Install ADB/FASTBOOT on your PC (by following advice given in this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1272595 )
You should reboot the phone so that its in BOOTLOADER (fastboot) mode. ( Its a good idea to note the details on the initial bootloader coloured screen radio/hboot versions etc)
plug in USB cable from PC
and type the following into a CMD window the directory where adb/fastboot was installed
Code:
fastboot getvar cidnum
and the purpose of that is you'll get returned the region ie HTC__001
You'll find the code in the following list http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=994630&d=1334067717
I also suggest that you run this command
Code:
fastboot getvar all
which should return a greater amount of information.
You should then be able to determine your base ROM details and noting all the details in settings...about phone....software ....more
try it here: http://www.htc.com/cn/help/chat/click on the button at right, keyin IMEI, SN and verifying code, click on the green button, it will show you

No, you'll only recieve OTA updates to the version of the ROM your on, which also has a reigon Post the build no. of your ROM so that i can tell you what the reigon is.
Alternately, you're SuperCID, so you can probably flash the RUU of any region you want

Hello
My cidnum is HTC___Y13 wich mean is HTC-NOR
Then, wich rom i should install?
A fast reply will be very helpfully!!!Because i'm stucked in BOOTLOADER....
I think an European should do. Download a RUU, run it without device, when the first window appears, do not close it, search your C drive for rom.zip, copy it to another location and close the RUU window. Open the zip, you will see a file called android-info.txt. It contains all the CIDs. Check if yours is there. If yes use it

Hello Dear Users!
I have been a fan of Android for years but recently I rooted my Sensation 4G and it is my first rooted device!
I need help people! I want to upgrade to ICS and possibly Sense 4.0.
I also want to overclock to the max, possibly 1.8GHz?!
What do I have on my phone? What are the stats? Well.. lets see.
Android Version: 2.3.4
HTC Sense Version: 3.0
Software Number: Android Revolution HD 3.6.2 by mike1986
Kernel Version: 2.6.35.14-Sensation-faux123-v0.2.1+
[email protected] #199
SMP PREEMPT Thu Oct 6 16:12:48 PDT 2011
Model Number reads as HTC Sensation XE with Beats Audio - but I know my phone is a Sensation 4G.
Daemon Controller 2.21 Beta 1
Rom Manager
Root Explorer
Spare Parts
SuperUser
These are the apps that were added when I had my phone rooted.
Please let me know what I can do!!! Which kernel versions to download and where to download them. I mainly care to overclock my Sensation to as high as possible. The ICS is defiantly a plus, but I would be scared to brick my phone!
Please let me know guys (and girls!)
Thank You very much!
Well at the moment there is only one 4.0 rom that is close to running stable(still many buggs since its a beta/test release from the endavore)
todo first:
check cid in adb(fastboot getvar cid)and download the therefor next 3.30base firmware download here
download the rom:
forum therefore click here
how to install firmware:
put the PG58IMG.zip into root of sdcard and boot up in bootloader and let it update
remove the PG58IMG.zip from the root of sdcard by an reader
put the your_rom.zip in the root of your sdcard
superwipe
flash the rom
there u go
Im sorry if this is a dumb question but... what does this mean exactly?
check cid in adb(fastboot getvar cid)and download the therefor next 3.30base firmware
what is the checking of cid in adb?

if you root u have adb setup (normally) check cid to know what firmware to download
use the command:
fastboot getvar cid
when phone is in fasyboot usb(bootloader then click the power once to go into fastboot)
You will probably want something much more functional and stable.Go for one of the "New" sense 3.6 releases based on 3.30 firmware.Read the firmware page, follow the instructions there then flash a sense 3.6 rom
What do I need to do once my phone is in in fastboot usb mode?
I held down the power and vol and my phones connected through usb.
what should I do now to check what I need to check?
im sorry guys but I am completely new to this so if possible to do like a broken down step by step i would GREATLY appreciate it! thank you

do the next things:
check Hboot(fastboot)
check cid(fastboot usb then use command: fastboot getvar cid)
check radio(fastboot)
check rom(recovery --> info)
You need to put firmware package(PG58IMG.zip-dont rename that file) to the root of the sd card, than boot in bootloader and you will get question "do you want to update",push volume up for yes, when its done remove your sd card and with card reader or other phone remove firmware package from sd card.
Then you hold vol down and power on and you will boot in bootloader again, choose recovery and then flash your rom from your sd card.
This is the easiest way to explain, and i hope that this helped you.

Dont worry, your phone still fine. You just need to flash the correct firmware, as mentioned by Alienator9191 above.
You will notice that you will need different firmware depending on sense version you using, otherwise you will experience those annoying bootloop.
You just need to copy/paste the correct firmware on root of your mem. card and boot to recovery (remove batt, hold vol down+power). it will detect the firmware (always in form of PG58IMG.zip) and install by itself.
This site will help you with the correct firmware, depending of the version of Sense you using:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1459767
Furthermore, I strongly advise you to read this thead below as it will help you a lot in flashing and rooting (am sure you already done so ;p )
The way i flash ROMS is I copy the rom and compatile firmware on root of mem card. The use Rom Manager (premium) to flash the rom directly. Then as it boots up, i go straight to bootloader and it the firmware gets flashed automatically. This may be wrong way, but quickest to do.
All the best, and happy flashing!
cid is 11111111.
how do i chjeck my radio on fastboot?

The Indian RUU was posted once by @imblfmstr but all those people who maintain list of stock roms for all regions didn't seem to care about it and the thread was lost.
And now to make it even worse, due to some idiotic laws posed by governments, the file sharing site on which it was posted was taken down.
I have it but do not have internet connection fast enough to upload it. Will see if I can do anything.
I have it, will upload in a while
Do you mind if I give it tomorrow? I tried uploading to 4shared, but it stopped at 92% and i have to start all over again :/

Check if you are doing this:
1. Connect your phone through USB, enable USB debugging
2. Run command prompt, change directory to adb
3. Check if your device serial is shown by running adb devices
4. Once you see your device serial shown correctly, type adb reboot-bootloader
5. Device will reboot into fastboot and you would see Fastboot USB on phone screen
6. Once there , type fastboot oem writesecureflag 3
7. Next type fastboot reboot-bootloader
8. After you type the last line, you should see S-On at the top of the bootloader screen. If so, you are all set.
let me know if this helped

Hi,
I rooted my phone using the bootloader from htc dev. I now have a custom rom on HBOOT 2.0 and S-ON.
I do however have a hardware issue and would like to use my warranty. Which steps do I need to undertake to put my phone back to original? I read somewhere that HTC can see that you used the bootloader and refuses to give you warranty (eventhough it's not a software problem)...
Is that true?
If you are not branded to any operator download the 2.10.401.9 RUU (there is a sticky thread in the dev section).
Reboot the device to bootloader (you should find FASTBOOT USB written on the screen of the phone) and type in command prompt on the PC:
Code:
fastboot oem lock
(you need the fastboot setup on your PC - how-to is in my signature)
then start the RUU on the PC without disconnecting the device.
EDIT: about the warranty I guess it is up to luck - some people reported no problems with the warranty repairs after using htcdev.com to unlock. If the HTC service decides to check they will probably find out that you have agreed to void your warranty. But I highly doubt that

@uqadwe
This is the European common version. I see that the OP is from Belgium, so if he is not carrier branded this must be the one that was on his phone when he bought it. No gold card needed. Moreover if he uses a Goldcard = no warranty, because the version will be different.
@papaganz
Reboot to bootloader and connect to PC. On the computer open command prompt and type:
Code:
fastboot getvar version-main
If the output is 1.28.401.1 or 1.47.401.4 or 2.10.401.x you are good to use RUU 2.10.401.9

This phone was through a downgrading attempt before or after unlocking the bootloader. Google search for this specific version shows it in many downgrading guides.
So it says exactly nothing.
CID HTC_102 means Europe/Germany. So Europe RUU build will be fine to flash.
Hi all
After reviewing/perusal all the solutions that let you Arabization your Sensation XE
I'm now trying to summarize and simplify the steps to Syndication/Arabization
you must Know your CID for your device, the simple way to know it :
download this free App (CID Getter ) and install it from your PLAY Store on your mobile
open CID Getter and you will found your CID on the top screen with RED color, if u can't see CID on the top means you are super CID
now you know your CID (e.g. HTC__023), note down your CID and check your corresponding provider/location here (Thanks for kgs1992)
on your phone do this steps to know your provider/location code:
Settings > About phone > Software information, and write down your Software number (e.g. 3.33.707.151)
the RED color mean Firmware version, the Green color mean the location code, the Blue color mean the Firmware update (Thanks again for kgs1992)
now you need to get the Arabian Firmware, means you must found the RUU that have x.xx.415.xx code, the (415 is for UAE/ME)
Download this Arabic RUU from Here
RUU-PYRAMID-LE-ICS-35-S-HTC-ARA-3.33.415.106-Radio-11.76A.3504.00U-11.24A.3504.31-M-release-266667-signed.exe
Click to collapse
NOTE: this RUU only for Sensation XE Z715e
This RUU is only for HTC__J15 CID, so you need to change your CID to flash it easy
Note : * you will loss your data, so take a backup before do anything
Be sure your battery charged and over than 75%
Change your CID :
first you must download SDK, ADB, and Drivers from HERE, it's easy to download, Just read carefully (thanks for MLIGN)
now download and install HTCDriver3.0.0.007.exe
be sure your phone connected with your PC and select Charge only and USB Debugging (Settings > developer options > mark USB debugging > ok )
now open the "AndroidSDK" folder and open "tools" folder, press and hold "SHIFT" button and right mouse click from any place and select "Open Command Window here"
type these commands respectively :
1-
adb reboot-bootloader
Click to collapse
your phone must be restarted automatically and in bootloader mode
to make sure of your CID type :
2-
fastboot getvar cid
Click to collapse
your CID will be shown
to change CID type :
3-
fastboot oem writecid HTC__J15
Click to collapse
Note: this CID (HTC__J15) only for Arabian RUU
your phone must be restarted automatically and in bootloader mode again
type this command to check your new CID
4-
fastboot getvar cid
Click to collapse
you must found this result :
cid : HTC__J15
Click to collapse
if your CID still not changed, restart your phone and CMD, and repeat step 1 + 3
now type this command :
5-
fastboot reboot-bootloader
Click to collapse
your phone must be restarted automatically and in bootloader mode again
Flash RUU :
now double click on your Arabian RUU.exe to flash it
After Rom flashed, check for updates to get last updates and upgrade from 3.33.415.106 to 3.33.415.151
Settings > About phone > Software updates and tap "Check now"
your phone now is Arabic with last updates

This is a general discussion thread for Liberty ROM
Please ask any question you may have and I'll try to answer it as best I can.
Somebody asked for instructions on how to install Liberty ROM and New Firmware so here they are:
Installation of leaked firmware (HBOOT 2.16) and Liberty ROM
WARNING - This WILL wipe your SD Card so back up your files before proceeding
Make sure HTC Sync is REMOVED and drivers are installed. Get drivers: Here
Charge your phone to AT LEAST 60% just in case
If you are S-OFF proceed to step 3, if not continue to step 2.
If your phone is from T-Mobile (US & Germany), Telus or Boost Mobile use Moonshine S-OFF
If you have the international model use: Facepalm S-OFF, Firewater S-OFF or Rumrunner S-OFF (Rumrunner is the easiest in my opinion)
Note that people with the T-Mobile, Telus or BM model CAN use Facepalm, Firewater and Rumrunner as well but international users CANNOT use Moonshine
Now use one of these methods to S-OFF (You cannot proceed if you are S-ON)
Now download the new firmware: Here
Extract the file to a convenient location (Like Desktop)
Open the Install Package folder, press the Shift key, Right-Click while holding Shift and select Open Command Window Here
If your phone is on type:
Code:
adb reboot oem-78
and hit enter
If you are in the bootloader, select Fastboot and type:
Code:
fastboot oem rebootRUU
and hit enter
Now type:
Code:
fastboot flash zip firmware.zip
and hit enter
You should get a message like this: "FAILED (remote: 90 hboot pre-update! please flush image again immediately)". Do not panic just type the command above again.
The green bar on the screen should stop at about 80-90% but do not worry, this is normal.
Now to flash the required recovery type this:
Code:
fastboot flash zip TWRP_2.6.1.0_ville_4.2.2.zip
and hit enter.
Now reboot into the bootloader by typing:
Code:
fastboot reboot-bootloader
and hit enter.
Once in the bootloader select Recovery
When you are in recovery go to Advanced then ADB Sideload
Now you download the ROM: Here. (Latest release is V3)
Now place LIBERTY-S4-Vx.zip into the Install Package folder (The x represents version number, e.g V4
Now open a new command window by holding Shift and Right-Click at the same time and selecting Open Command Window Here
Next you must type:
Code:
adb sideload LIBERTY-S4-V3.zip
and hit enter.
Make sure the screen is on when the sideload is almost 100% complete as TWRP freezes for some reason.
Now follow the instructions in the installer, make sure you select Wipe Data during installation and Reboot when the installation process is finished.
Finished
Alright, I'll try it again here:
Does this ROM enable Bluetooth 4.0 (LE) on the One S?

If I remember correctly in sense 5.5 you can use blinkfeed to reed RSS news instead of only a few selected sources!!
But I haven't used the rom yet so I'm not sure, someone should confirm
What differences from a 4.2.2 rom? Better smoothness? Someone try it?

so far version 4 is slightly less laggier than v3 but not smooth enough yet and sense 5.5 has new blinkfeed features and some interface tweaks in various apps
