I'm running hypernonesense(newest version) with latest bricked kernel at 1.24max on demand gov and my phone reaches temperatures of 124-145 °F from normal use... Especially when charging... It never started doing this until recently... How can I fix this?

I am also on HyperNonsense, and I do not have this problem. I am using faux's kernel.
Flash faux kernel listed at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1216197
Use the ICS one.
See if that helps =D

Are you getting an overheating battery (i.e. the back of the phone is hot) or is it the bottom of the screen where the home/menu/back buttons are? If it's the former then get an Anker battery, otherwise I'm not sure...
The bottom of my screen overheats qutie a lot, especially when playing music (with Poweramp) and in graphic intensive games. After extensive research I have established that I don't think the problem is ROM specific - it seems to be a hardware issue? I've found I get the overheating whilst in Recovery mode, which is obviously not affected by a rom.
However, I did find when I overvolted my cpu, that overehating seemed to occur less, but as of now I don't think anyone quite knows what causes this!
yea its the cpu cause the battery isn't hot its the bottom of the screen. how do you go about overvolting?

well first question when your phone over heats is pluged in...chances are your phone is working hard to keep up with the charge...if not plugged in do you have a case if so try taking it off and see if the problem persist

If there's no option in System Tuner, I think it means your kernel doesn't support over/undervolting. I recommend Faux123's kernel, you can get it from the main 'Sensation Android Development Page' it's one of the [kernel] ones. Then install faux clock and use that to over/undervolt.
Hope that helps
Back to GingerBear Stock Rom may solve this problem.
because when I updated to ICS heating is raised

Try 25mV either way - experiment a bit to find what's best for you - going too low will mean your phone will randomly restart more, but going too high will cause more battery drain

hello dear
i agree with u to get back to GB ..it's the new kernal that cozing this cpu overheat problem last two days i try to find out what's the wrong with kernal but yet no resulte all i can say it's not stable rom & kernals yet so backing to GB seems good idea IT manager Musa91..
What should we do ...? Go back to a gingerbread rom? Or an ICS one but with an ancient kernel? Can you tell us which kernel is the good one?
Thkx for your time...
im running hypernonsense with the brick kernel and it works great for me. my phone doesnt overheat on idle/sleep but it does get warm when playing games or using apps that put the cpu to work. i do have a rubber slip on case too.

Hey guys, I though we can do some list of known issues in latest 1.45.401.2 HTC official base. It would be good idea if later as many people as possible can report the complete bugs list to HTC so that they hurry up with the update and we'll make sure they are aware of all the issues so that they wont be present (hopefully) in next build.
Confirmed issues:
Broken 3D engine,
Bottom dock edge is not smooth (for all 3 skins),
Language issue: (Polish) In HTC e-mail app after selecting unread message the button "Oznacz jako przeczytane" (Mark as read) have text cut in a half,
LMW.apk is missing by default so we can't use "Make more space" in SD card settings,
The phone doesn't always register first power button click to put the phone on standby. It has to be hit twice for the phone to drop to standby,
Zooming in a picture in gallery and pressing the back button doesn't zoom out to the original level,
Phone is embarrassingly slow and choppy as for Dual-Core 1.2GHz device. Especially scrolling through widgets is very laggy,
Phone is getting warm even when scrolling through the desktops,
Not confirmed issues:
Other things to report:
Still missing correct kernel source for 2.3.4 ROM,
Write you suggestions and propositions of better description to the issues. Also report your language issues like missing translations etc.
Nice post Mike, the RUU has been on shipped ROMs for the past week but my broadband has been down
Had the HTC reps in work a few days ago and got one of the guys to esc the 3D issue to their tech/dev team with a detailed description, hoping for a fix soon

This is very good news Lee, hopefully they wont brake anything else lol. Do you have some suggestions for the list?
Not sure if it's an issue but scrolling in whatsapp conversation is unbelievably choppy and laggy.
Hell even if the GPU wasn't working, the dual core should be able to handle it. But no.
Really weird (My HTC G2 is 10x smoother).

Just uninstalled it, played on my nexus s and no problems, tryed on my vibrant and no problem, am talking about the cordy game, it totally makes tbe sensation crash worst than an underclocked kernel

Is there no way for these to be manually updated?
Or would it need a whole new release by HTC?

Yes, you can flash libs from 1.35 base but only with custom kernel. But it's not a fix, just a temporary solution. It must be fixed by HTC.

I know that sometime our sensation gets hotter when used for highend gaming or while watching HD movies for long times. But my Sensation gets way too hot.. I mean scary hot.. it becomes almost dificult to hold in hands and feel as if its going to go BOOM!
i am on Hypernonsense 1.5 rom now, which btw is underclocked(1.08ghz) rom. Usualy ARHD roms(1.5ghz) makes my sensation hot even while surfing through internet. i found the hypersensation roms to be the best rom that keep my sensation cool.
the point is if dual core heats the hell out of phone whats the use of it? i mean i used to play same games on my single core android devices like galaxy tab and on my nexus s as well and they used to get hotter after hrs of usage. while my sensation starts gets hotter in like 5mins and by 15mins i have to quit gaming, because of the insanly increasing temprature...
is there any solution to this? i hope my sensation doesnt need micro-liquid-cooling kit! lolz.. Does usually all dual core devices behaves like this?

yes me too....one question...i have problems with mc3..it wont load on time compared to my desire hd on multiplayer and it hangs a lot...do you have the same problem...??
I would talk to HTC about it. They may be willing to help.
ROM?
Btw when you guys were playing games on your Sen, what rom were you guys on? I have never been on stock rom. The moment i got it, i started playing around different roms..
Since ARHD ROMs have OC GPU set up by default maybe it might be heating up the phone. Specially the bottom back side heats up as HELL!! Also the battry sucks up like 5%/min. I was playing Gun Bros Offline and my battry was about 30%, and after completing a few levels i.e. about 5/10mins of gaming the battry was 8%....
Man!! I feel my Galaxy TAB was like WAY better. I used to play about 4hrs with wifi and bluetooth on for whole day +emails and browsing for more then 3hrs.. and still i got about 20hrs battry time...
May be ICS can give me better perfomance, since its optimized for dual core phones....
Running cm7 my phone goes up to 115-120 degrees while game. Youtube or some web browsing heats it up to around 100+.

my sensation xe got 45C when playing any games....
not normal at all!
Mine was getting that hot and eventually started blinking the LED light orange and green, then I'd get an "overheating" message and the phone would reboot. I bought an Anker battery and haven't had the problem since.
Could be a battery defect or you could try underclocking the cpu.

That would probably solve it, I guess... I havent had the issue myself after I underclocked it... Then again, I'm running MIUI.
Good, thought that I ws the only one having heat issues. My sensation would heatup to 50 degrees celsuis when playing modern combat 3 or shadow gun, and when you go to system info, it says "overheat" on the battery status. I hope this is not a rom or kernel issue.

UC works!
I UC to 1.08 and it seems to get prettly less hotter now..!! also the gaming perfomance did decrease a bit.. a very less noticable...
There are two reasons why i bought the sensation xe against the sensation, first is the beats earphone and second is the higher clock. Now i need to underclock to below the clock specs of the basic sensation? Wwwwwwaaaaaaahhhhhh!!!!! When i have the time i will to revert to stock and try if it will still heat up, luckily I still havent sold me desire hd.

Hot...yes, overheat... no. Try slowing down your processor when playing games and go into developer options via setting ( can't remember if it's in ginger bread) and check force gpu. Also reduce the amount of apps running when your going to play games for a while. There isn't a fix for that but this should help.

A few days ago I started getting random reboots and a bit more lag than usually. I thought maybe it was because of UV (-87.5) so I changed it to -50, but it didn't help. The reboots happen two-three times a day usually a second after turning the screen on. Also the lag is getting a bit annoying, it is noticible even when scrolling through the screens. It was better a while ago.
What could be causing such a problem? I am running android 4.0.3 rooted and unlocked S-OFF Elegancia Rom Sense 3.6. more info in attachments.
Also, I recently installed Dualcore Badass Tweaks By Iba21 CPU 384~1566 badass gov an Bricked kernel was installed earlier with 192 mghz min 1566 mhz max, max scrennoff 486, could this mean something?
Any help appreciated.
Have you tried changing your kernel yet? Try changing your kernel and see if the problem persists. Also check battery make sure it has no "wiggle" to it in the housing. If it does wiggle, stabilize it with a piece of paper. Hope this helps. Best wishes.

No, I didn't try changing the kernel yet. Will try it right away. The battery holds firmly, no wiggle whatsoever. Could this have to do anything with the governor changing when going to screen on?

So I changed the kernel from bricked to faux123 192~1.51 cpu. Everything looked ok, but yesterday I got 2 reboots, both when taking a photo, what else could be a problem?
Have you checked to see if battery is loose ? If it has some wiggle this could be causing the reboots. If you find a wiggle put a small wedge of paper to stabilize the battery. Also make sure you're not under or over volted right now, this could be the cause too. For right now while your figuring this out don't under or over volt and see what happens. Try those two suggestions and hopefully the issue will resolve.

When I turn on the screen
Back light buttons turns on anv display stays off and no response from screen and it just restart
any advice?
What can b the cause?
Sent from my HTC Sensation XE with Beats Audio using Tapatalk 2
Several things can cause the random reboots. First are you over or under volted? If yes adjust CPU. Second check battery in casing and see if it has any wiggle at all. If yes wedge a small piece of paper on top of the battery to secure the battery. Third try to reinstall rom doing a full wipe, could be a bad flash. If it's still rebooting try another rom to experiment to see if issue lies in the rom it's self. If the issue is gone with another rom then you know the issue is rom related. If the issue is still present with new rom chances are it's device related. Possibly loose battery. Give those things a try to trouble shoot and see if any of this helps. Best wishes. Hopefully one of these options will solve the issue.
