As of the update to "Pocket" this morning, all articles are showing as completely blank with no text. I've tried clearing all data, uninstalling, and changing font/display options but still no text shows at all.
Anyone else had this happen??
[Edit 4/27]: Nevermind, it looks like this is an HTC Evo View 4G/Flyer issue -- or perhaps a Honeycomb specific issue?
My content is all present.
Mine was displaying all black and then I scrolled my finger on the screen and it looks normal now. That latest update must have screwed something up.

Does anyone out there with a different device on Honeycomb have this issue?

I just found this forum and am hoping to find some help. I just switched from an iPhone to the Inspire and so far am loving it except for one small issue. Some of the apps I downloaded will have the icon reset from the one installed to the stock android app icon. This only seems to happen when they are in folders. I can reset them by going into the app menu and dragging the original back into the folder and then deleting the one that was set to stock. It's not a deal breaker problem but it is irritating. I check the forums for a solution and couldn't find one. Anyone have any ideas? Oh, this is on a stock phone, no root or hacks have been tried. Thanks in advance
I had this same problem (icons resetting to stock green and white android icons, but only when they are in folders) after doing a battery pull. And it seems like there has to be a way to restore the "app-specific" icons without having to re-drag them to folders etc. Interested to see if there is a more efficient solution.
Mine seems to do it after I unplug it from being mounted to my comp or sometimes after a reboot. I also hope for a quicker solution.
I have one other thing I think is odd. On all of the pictures I see of other peoples Inspire home screen the App/Phone/Personalize dock is radiused. Mine is very square. Is this normal or is mine just odd?
Nobody else has this problem or any information?
I have had this problem after installing/deleting apps. I just long press the power key and hit restart and that seems to fix it.
Sent from my Desire HD using XDA App
I found that choosing a different skin also brings back the icons. This isn't a serious problem but it is irritating. Anyone know why this happens?
Ive had this happen on my dell when using launcher pro when i had the apps hidden in the app draw. I had to open prefs in launcher pro and restart launcher pro to get them fixed, after every reboot or updated apps it seemed to happen
if i try to go to the manual update search...its grayed out, however it says "There is an update for your device. Please check notification." but there is no update icon showing up. ive expanded the notifications, but its not showing up.
I've rebooted many times, by powering off or using hard reset, but don't get the notification for update, even though System Update says that there is an update. Anyone knows what's wrong or how to fix this issue?
keep in mind, that i am NOT rooted.

where are you looking for the notification ? its not in the pop up notifications (bottom right), its an icon on the bottom toolbar .... an up arrow if i recall ....
apologies if you knew that but id hate to not point it out as the term 'notification' often means the pop up area
I've got the same issue. Also tried deleting update.zip using adb, but can't find any trace of this file anywhere.

anybody have a solution?
bump...anyone?
i know others were having the problem....did anybody figure out a solution?
anyboy know if clearing storage/wiping data will fix the issue?
I had this issue after the 1st FOTA update.
At the time, I spoke to Asus CS. They hadn't seen the issue. The only fix was a factory reset...
There is a solution! I had this problem too. It was driving me nuts for the whole of yesterday!
Go to Settings>Applications>Manage Applications>All
Look for DMClient.
Tap on Clear data and Clear Cache.
Do the hard reset (hold power button for 12s until TF turns off).
Turn on.
Update should show in notifications now!
I'm not sure if a normal reboot would work above, but the hard reset did it for me!
Hope this helps!
you rule!!!!
this worked perfectly. FW is now downloading.
thanks so mch!!!
Brilliant! Problem solved. Thanks.
Thanks you rule. This has been bugging me for ages!
Didn't require a hard reset just power off and reboot.
please help, I will not reveal more.
I tried to wipe data and hard reset, but nothing.
please help, I try to update but it stops. Android shows a green icon with the exclamation!
I bought Sensation 2 days ago, and saw these strange lines over the Winamp widget. It was only in the space which was for the Winamp widget, and after I removed widget, the lines were gone.
That happened twice, and the similar lines appeared on the "show me" widget, which was "factory installed", so the problem is not Winamp probably.
Should I return the phone now, or wait to see will this become permanent?

Can you force this to be happening? I dont believe they'd take the phone back unless you can prove the fault...
Anyway, I'd give it a go and see what happens, if it gets any worse, you can always request warranty repair, for as long as the phone aint rooted etc.
EDIT: Looked at the pic you posted again, it doesnt seem to be HW fault, its more likely an SW issue... well, obviously 2.3 aint ready for this resolution, I hope devs reacts soon so this can get fixed
If it was the Winamp widget only, that'd be the problem, as I'd say it wasn't set up for qHD, or configured correctly etc
Move either of the widgets that have the issue to another part of the screen, then another homescreen. Just don't keep it in that physical rectangle area of the screen.
I dont know how to force that error again. I would like that it was a software, its easier to fix, I think.
When I was moving the Winamp widget, those lines were moving with the widget.
Same issue here, mostly comming up on the google search widget and the getting started button, restarting the theme solves this for a while.

If it moves with the widget, it's likely to be a software issue
This happens with a lot of widgets which cannot stretch or scale properly to the qHD screen.
The fact that the lines move around with the widget and then disappear when the widget is removed clarifies this.
Obviously one of HTC's own widgets is unable to cope too.
Might also be related to Sense 3.0. Have you tried the same widgets with a different launcher?
I havent try with the different launcher, because I cant force those lines to appear again. It only happened twice. Winamp widget works perfectly for now.
I have the same issue, with AudioGuru's widget. When i removed the widget the lines are gone!!!!

Clearly, this + the lads arround, this is a SW issue only, not optimised widget for such a big difference... more the qHD displays will be on sale, the faster we get updates... Also, maybe Google will release some update on Android 2.3.5 maybe that might fix most of the problems with the screen
I have to agree with the Software camp on this (though initially I thought for sure it was hardware)
When I look closely at the pic you have the lines start inside of the screen and end inside of the screen with a border of clean pixels before the edge of the screen. (Line is framed inside of screen) If the line went all the way across I would be still be thinking hardware.
If the problem is that the software is not optimized with qHD, then I guess I have nothing to worry about.
Thank you all for your answers.
U was shocked to see my screen is damaged but when i swiped to another page, gone. Tried moving the widget and the lines move too. So yes, its the widgets. On mine, its tweetdeck bar

I have only seen this on non htc widgets.. when your switching slowly..

this happened to me with the amazon mp3 widget, and i had 2 other widgets on the same page. it went away and never came back. that's the only "issue" i've had with this phone.
same thing happened to me with blue facebook app. i restarted phone, hasn't come back since.
Yep I've had the same issues, figured it was software issue due to the way it was working.
I did soft reset that clears it for while anyways.
Same problem here.
A way to fix them all without any reset or removing the widgets is to go into your app settings and restart the Sense app.
It will restart rosie and fixes all the widgets with lines.
Very annoying tho

Exactly!
Here is the video, how the line (this time only one line) is moving with the widget.
This one appeared after I played few 3D games.

Hi,
I tried searching through this forum but couldn't find anything related.
I recently purchased an LG Quantum (C900B) and unlocked it to work with my carrier. After updating through Zune, all of the downloaded app icons become black with a white circle within it. Furthermore, the image previews in the marketplace become gray tiles and with no buttons to purchase or share. Moreover, any apps that are open become extremely laggy.
I've tried turning off/turning on, which temporarily solves the problem however, the problem reappears if idle for ~5min or if I open marketplace.
I've tried to replicate the problem in my friend's Quantum but it seems to only be my device.
I've searched on the M$ WP7 forums, someone with the same problem said they brought it to HTC and it turned out to be a hardware problem. Here's a video of someone's phone with the exact same symptoms:

Does anyone know why this is happening and how, if I can, solve it? Any help would be extremely appreciated! Thank you so much!

Bump. Anyone?
So, I've been trying to change my lock screen image (as well as the app screen and such) for my HTC U11 but it will only let me use the default selections and not my own pictures...it was working a few weeks ago but it's really bugging me!
Every time I try to select my chosen images it says "Error: Could not load media" - there's nothing wrong with the image files and I've tried many different ones...
I tried going to the "edit current theme" and such but it just won't work! Even HTC customer support couldn't help me :c

Same here.. I deleted the Sense home data, restarted the phone - nothing worked.
Perhaps it is a problem on HTC's side..

Hopefully it gets fixed soon because it's really bugging me :S If it keeps acting up and if any others apart from us have this issue I might email them to see if they can check it out

My old HTC 10 also has this issue.
However, a friend of mine with HTC desire 530 has no problems haha. Really baffling.

Doesn't work.
Also when I select a pic from the G photos itself, to create a theme for an example - it says the same - could not load media. I deleted also the data for the GPhotos - still doesnt work. I run out of ideas.
Can your gallery see the photos OK? It might be a permission thing. Try deleting gphoto cache and data, reopen the app and see if it asks for permission. The screen saver is linked to the gphoto app so the problem must lie there.

Gallery sees and edits the photos ok. Deleted and reopened everything possible. Nopermissions asked. No luck.
From this point I'll admit I'm stabbing a fish in a barrel. Do you have encrypted storage?.
Out of curiosity, are you trying to change from personalize or display settings?
Try edit current theme under personalize.
The error occurs when I select edit current theme using the Themes app and then try to load a picture from the device
Same Issue
I have the absolute same issue, I uninstalled the whole sense home app (therefore my whole homescreen messed up and all my icons) and it reinstalled itself and I restarted my phone and it worked, however it just updated again and now does the same thing
I'm having the same issue on my HTC 10. I've noticed the problem about 2 weeks ago.
Google photos got an update in the play store and the problem is now fixed.
