[TUTORIAL] how to setup att 1.85 w/ CleanROM *FOR ROGERS*

Hello all my fellow Canadians. The time has come to update those stinky 1.73 stock roms and uneash the power of your HOX! This tutorial will set you up with CleanROM w/ 1.85 rom. The phone feels twice as fast and all those pesky bugs are resolved. All ATT bloatware is removed and you are left with a de-branded, rooted, bootloader unlocked, super tweaked (FAST) HOX
Note: Before running any scripts make sure the adb.exe process is stopped and HTC sync is closed. This will prevent errors from occurring when running scripts.
STEP 1: UNLOCK BOOT LOADER AND RESET CID TO GENERIC VALUE
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1672284
STEP 2: RELOCK BOOT LOADER AND FLASH 1.85 RUU
-lock boot loader by using the command "fastboot oem lock" in cmd (refer to htcDEV steps for instructions if not sure how)
-download 1.85 RUU and flash to device
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1670238
STEP 3: UNLOCK 1.85 with standard HTCDev instructions procedure
STEP 4: [if links are broken, use links from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=26540652&postcount=117 ]
-> Flash CWM Recovery -> http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1671873
-> Download and copy SuperSU (CWM-SuperSU-v0.89.zip) to /sdcard from -> http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1538053
-> Reboot into CWM Recovery and flash CWM-SuperSU-v0.89.zip
-> reboot phone
-> start SuperSU from app launcher and let it update the su binary
***OKAY: at this point your are defiantly going to hate all the ATT junk, boot screen, att bloatware, etc. Ill show you how to make it good!
STEP 5:
download CoolROM: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1655011
save it to your SD card and flash using CWM [follow instructions ^^^there^^^ then come back here when your done to setup ROGERS settings]
STEP 6:
enjoy the sexy nexus boot logo
STEP 7: SETUP ROGERS APN's and SMS center numbers (allows ATT rom to fully communicate with rogers servers!)
-go into your messanger and click the app switcher button(linked to menu key) and click settings. Click sms settings, and the input this number into call center number:
+17057969300
-Go into settings and click on mobile data (4th down) and click APN.

Can you provide a little more detail on how to do step 1-4 i keep getting this error when i run the .bat
What do you mean by reset cid to generic value?
Just updated my Rogers phone. I did not have to enter the pan or mms setting. Worked out of the box and found the Rogers towers.
Sent from my HTC One X using XDA
Quick question for Step 1, my Rogers HOX is being rooted/BL unlocked, can I just run the SuperCID tools or I have to relock the BL before i run the tools?
Links 3 and 4 are broken.
I'm out for 2hours then I'll come on and clarify everything. All scripts are run with USB debugging enabled, adb.exe disabled, and htcsync disabled
I'll be on to fix the links in 2 hours. Sorry for the hold up.
If you are already unlocked, relock and use the tools in the procedure
Followed all instructions and cant get any data. It will let me input apns but it wont let me select the apn

The data apn should be selectable where as the mms auto applies
for some reason when I flash the CWM recovery in step 4, it doesn't work and it relocks my bootloader
EDIT: I manually installed it. thanks for this tutorial

Could someone look at their Rogers APN settings that hasn't flashed the ATT rom yet? Interested to know what they are as it might be related to the tether issue I am facing.

Does that apply to supercid spoof too? Since I understand it's required to relock the BL before flashing RUU but also want to know if it's necessary to relock to spoof the CID

The only way i did it was by relocking and the spoofed and then locked again, flash 1.85, unlock with HTCDev, etc

It sets your cid to 1111111 so that you can flash to 1.85. without doing the spoof, the flashing wizard detects rogers and wont let you load the att rom.
did everything it says to do but when i try to re-unlock it doesnt seem to work, the token is accepted and it brings up the screen saying yes or no, when i say yes it wipes the phone but when i go back in to the BL it still says RELOCKED at the top hope im not stuck like this, will try and flash the ruu again and try re re unlocking
If you are having trouble unlocking do this:
-relock,even if already says relocked, (trust me). Then unlock using htcdev. There is a weird glitch to.some people and.you have to do.it a few times for it to.stick. it ok it will eventually work. (worked first time.for me)
Let me.know if you are successful!

Half tempted to go back to the standard stock Rogers RUU after going through this entire process and seeing how much is missing and can't be restored easily. So many fewer accounts that can be setup, stuff like Facebook for HTC Sense is gone and can't be installed...
Anyone got the APKs for some of the stuff that's missing?
Flashing superuser in clockwork is an unnecessary step as cleanrom is rooted

[Guide] Telus HTC One X: Root, Recovery, ROM

Hello fellow users, this will be a step-by-step guide on how to modify the Telus version of the HOX on 1.91 firmware. This procedure is similar to that of the Rogers variant I believe, but there is currently no "one-click" method for the Telus firmware. I would like to stress that I am not a developper and that anything that you do to your phone is at your own risk. Neither myself, any those mentioned in this post and XDA can be held responsible for what you do to your phone.
Here we go!
Unlocking the bootloader:
NOTE: If you are using the AT&T One X with the 2.20 firmware, you will need to use the X-Factor exploit found here. This will effectively allow you to skip to part 2 of my guide.
1. Download the attached files. One will be to help you unlock your bootloader. The other is TWRP 2.3.1.
2. Ensure that you have ADB functioning on your computer and all drivers for your phone are installed.
3. Once you are all set, with your phone on, run the Spoof-CID.bat. Do this by right-clicking on the file and select "RUN AS ADMINISTRATOR". Do not close this window. Read each line carefully!
4. Log into htcdev.com and follow the instructions there. On completion, you should get your unlock token emailed to you.
5. Place the unlock token file in the same folder as Spoof-CID.bat and hit enter in your command prompt. On completion, you can close this window.
6. This will now unlock your bootloader! Congrats!
Installing TWRP 2.3.1:
1. Place the recovery image in the same folder as your ADB files.
2. Boot your phone into bootloader mode and select fastboot. If you are proceeding from part one, you should already be here.
3. Open a command prompt with Administrative rights and cd to your ADB folder.
4. In command prompt, type in "fastboot flash recovery [file name].img" without the quotes and replace [file name] with that of the name of the recovery file.
5. This will now flash TWRP 2.3.1! Congrats!
Flashing a custom ROM:
1. Boot into your recovery. If you are coming from the previous section, go back to bootloader and select recovery.
2. Perform a backup.
3. Mount your SD card from the Mount menu.
4. Choose a ROM. Ensure that it is for the One XL and not the One X International Version.
5. Copy this ROM into your SD card and flash!
6. Congrats! You now have a rooted Telus One X with a custom recovery and custom ROM!

Glad to see Telus users here!!!
im a complete android noob, and i used this method to unlock and load a custom ROM on my rogers HOX,. worked flawlessly. The only difference is that i just followed the steps on HTCdev to unlock the bootloader without using the SpoofCID.
Thanks!
Hey thanks a lot. I just wanted to know, how can you tell if your HTC one X is from telus or rogers? Is there a way?

Best way to tell if you haven't unlocked your phone is to download "CID Getter" from the Play store and see what the CID is. If it was from Telus, it will be Telus001 and if Rogers, then Rogers001 (i think)
either way, this method will work with both phones.
what about re-unlocking with 2.20 and original token?

Not sure about relocking the AT&T HOX. Relocking on the Telus version is fairly simple as bootloader unlocking is natively supported.

Awesome holy crap thank you!! Now I know haha, thats craiglist for you.
I'm not sure the Telus ISP APN is necessary. I have always just used the Telus SP one and I have LTE on my One X. What radio/RILs are people using? I seem to have similar connection and signal regardless so I switched back to the stock Rogers 1.94 one (using a Rogers One X on Telus).

Do a speed test, how's your ping and download speeds, then retest with second apn an tell us, lol not Telus, how big a difference in results.
For me same scenario as you almost, Rogers onex on Telus, poor ping an speeds until I added second apn, then full on LTE.

This is how Telus has set up their version of the One X. It's not like I pulled it from thin air. If LTE truly works for you without the second APN setting, that's great; however, for my Telus variant with stock radio and RIL's, both APNs are required to get consistent LTE connection when in the GTA/Durham area.
how do i know the root worked?
i justed used your TWRP recovery on my telus ht one x and it reboot after pressing recovery mode in bootloader mode but how do i know that the root worked?

Did you properly flash TWRP? Try the flash process again following the instructions closely. If you select recovery from the bootloader and it reboots, that's usually a bad flash. You won't have root until you flash a ROM that has already been rooted (ex. CleanROM) so make sure you back up your current ROM.

STUCK on T-Mobile EDGE

Recently S-OFF and SuperCID and lost T-Mobile 4G speeds. Have been going through the forum for a few weeks now looking to resolve this problem. This includes numerous wipes back and forth trying different solutions, currently back to S-ON and SuperCID TMOB010 without any luck.
Is anyone aware of a working solution to restore 4G connectivity without getting a new phone? I'm out of warranty and do not wish to use insurance to swap it out (deductible)

Dial *#*#4636#*#*

No network service.

Hey Guys!
Yesterday I flashed the rom "Liberty S4 MAX".
Within the Aroma installation it has an option to flash radio (I believe v1.20) and I said yes as I thought it would work good with that rom.
After playing around a little I found that the rom didn't statisfy my needs and I flashed MagioROM.
MagioROM did statisfy my needs, BUT I noticed that my network wouldn't work when I booted up my phone.
The problem I have now:
Every time my phone boots up I can enter my PIN-Code and the phone will stay on "No Signal" (no network service).
I do have a Wi-Fi signal.
I can , however, get it to work: I open my phone and open the dialer. I type *#*#4636#*#* and it bring me to the "testing" configuration. I can click "Phone Information" and scroll down to the preferred network service. It says WCDMA Preferred which is good. I can click "Turn off radio" and than click on "Turn on radio" enter my PIN-Code again and BOOM! the network works.
The network is, however, not stable and sometimes I have to do this step again a few times while my phone is running.
How do I solve this problem?
I did try to flash a new radio. I flashed every radio in this link : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2419699
I did try another rom (ViperOneS) but still the same problem.

If you have S-OFF just flash another Radio from a .zip in CWM or TWRP

Same problem.
I upgraded to hboot 2.16 (my radio was 1.20.50.05.16; I am S-off with a 11111111 CID) and can now no longer connect to my network.
When I did *#*#4636#*#*, I got WCDMA, which was wrong. But I've tried different versions of GSM (which is what I need), and none seem to work. Even on the phone info screen, it keeps saying 'GSM service: Emergency calls only'. Also after I do radio off/radio on, it asks me for my pincode, I enter that, it accepts it, but nothing changes.
I've also flashed another radio (1.35a.32.45.27), but I get the same problem (first it says WCDMA, but even when I change to GSM, it still doesn't work.)
I've ran various RUUs - none of them solve the problem.
And I have of course tried to remove and reinsert the sim-card - but nothing works.
Does anybody have any ideas about what might be wrong?

I'm still stuck with this problem. and would still be grateful for any ideas about what the problem might be and (especially) how to solve it. Oh and to add to the mystery: when I put in my daughter's sim-card, it DOES automatically register without any problems. And I have already tried deleting all APNs and re-enter one based on the instructions given on the website of my provider (KPN), but I still can't get it to work,. There must be some other bizarre thing here...

HTC Sensation 4G "No SIM card - No service"

Hey guys,
I recently flashed CM13 (cm-13.0-20161203 - ivanich) to my HTC Sensation 4G. After a few tweaks to get Opengapps working, the ROM has been running pretty well. However the SIM card isn't being recognized so the phone isn't getting any cell service. Everything is greyed out under the 'Mobile network settings' section and the 'preferred network type' says "Invalid Network Mode (-1). Ignore." This SIM card worked just fine before I flashed CM13; the phone was running the stock ICS version at the time.
The phone itself is a US T-Mobile version of the HTC Sensation 4G but has been unlocked to work currently in the UK (O2 network), I'm hoping this isn't part of the issue. I've had a search through these forums (and googled) but haven't been able to find any solutions. Relevant posts/comments are pretty sparse to begin with for this problem.
Anyone have any advice on how to get the SIM card, and subsequently the network service, working? I've tried reflashing the ROM a few times but to no effect. Stats are given below.
Cheers
