[Q]How to rebind right touchpad click as back button? - Eee Pad Transformer Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

So, I've flashed the aokp rom on my tf101, and after that my right button on the touchpad (originally the back button) acts as if was a normal click.
It happens the same when i connect an external usb mouse, the right click is the same as the normal click.
Anyone know what i should do to revert this changes?
Thanks

I would also like to know this, as it is very convenient having the back button there.

You mean this is the default binding for the rom?
Anyone who flash it gets the button binded to a standard click?

This works for simply remapping. Just did it to remap my MENU and HOME keys. Used Root Explorer. The file name is mecha-keypad.kl
So, I would imagine this would also work for mapping one of the keys to wake the phone however will still need to pull/push the file with ADB to do that.
Great find! Thanks. Been wanting to do this for weeks, now.

well i tried adb pull mecha-keypad.kl and put it on c drive then i edited with notepad++ by putting WAKE by the menu slot then pushed it back to its original location but it still will not wake device AM i doing something wrong???
I seen in there that there is also a mecha-keypad-v0.kl file maybe that needs to be edited to wake the device by pressing the MENU key???
any help??anyone
My power button is not gone yet but its close and if i could save it by relieving it a bit it would be nice
I doubt you'll be able to wake the phone with any soft key - I doubt the digitizer is active when the phone is asleep, so there's nothing watching for presses.

[Q] Recent Apps Hotkey?

I think I use the recent apps button more than any other button on the screen or the dock. Does anyone know if there is a short cut for that button built in to the dock? Maybe a key combo or something? I love how easy it is to switch between apps with that button, but I sometimes wish I didn't have to tap the bottom of the screen to do so.
Does anone know of a keyboard shortcut to do this?
As far as I can see, there is no such thing. This and the lack of accidental touch filtering on the trackpad are the only negatives that I've found in the dock.

The "function" key to disable the touchpad works wonders.
Have you guys tried holding down the home key on the keyboard?
Yes. No dice.
FN+ Home? Maybe shoot an email to asus and see if it's something they will add, or is super hidden.
(I'm just throwing things out there I don't have one, lol)

Power on tablet with dock?

Hello, Is there a way to power on the tablet with a button on the doc? Thanks in advance!!
There are actually multiple ways...
1. Open the dock - the tablet powers on automatically.
2. Disable the Dock Power Save mode in settings - then any key will turn the device on.
3. Also, if you use a USB or bluetooth mouse, simply moving the mouse will turn the screen on as well.
Hope that helps!
With how cheap the hardware buttons are on the TF700, I've been trying not to use them.

Thanks for the information. Opening the tablet does wake it up. I had to disable the dock power savings mode to let the mouse wake it up. Not sure how much more battery this will take.
I spoke to soon. Moving the mouse doesn't wake the tablet up for some reason. I can press any key and it does wake up now. It just a basic USB Logitec mouse.

Interesting - I just assumed that a USB mouse would work like a bluetooth mouse (which *does* wake up the device when moved).
Come to think of it, I believe that the USB ports get powered down during sleep, so I guess that's why the USB mouse doesn't wake it up...
Maybe consider a bluetooth mouse - It's extremely convenient.

[Q] Changing menu button function

Hi
Ive been using Slimbean on my Sgs for months, and there I can configure the menu button action.
Im using short press to have contextual menu, long press to switch between apps.
On the tf300t with Inheritance (and other roms as well, i guess), the menu button acts as a recent apps switcher.
Is there a way to chose its function as well ?
Thanks
That's actually a recent apps switcher button. Samsung chose not to follow googles design protocols and altered the way the buttons work from stock. There's supposed to be a three dot button somewhere in every app to act as a menu button, and when app developers don't do this, this ui adds one to the Nav bar temporarily.
Short answer, no, I don't believe it can be changed. And frankly for good reason.
