Hello, Is there a way to power on the tablet with a button on the doc? Thanks in advance!!
There are actually multiple ways...
1. Open the dock - the tablet powers on automatically.
2. Disable the Dock Power Save mode in settings - then any key will turn the device on.
3. Also, if you use a USB or bluetooth mouse, simply moving the mouse will turn the screen on as well.
Hope that helps!
With how cheap the hardware buttons are on the TF700, I've been trying not to use them.

Thanks for the information. Opening the tablet does wake it up. I had to disable the dock power savings mode to let the mouse wake it up. Not sure how much more battery this will take.
I spoke to soon. Moving the mouse doesn't wake the tablet up for some reason. I can press any key and it does wake up now. It just a basic USB Logitec mouse.

Interesting - I just assumed that a USB mouse would work like a bluetooth mouse (which *does* wake up the device when moved).
Come to think of it, I believe that the USB ports get powered down during sleep, so I guess that's why the USB mouse doesn't wake it up...
Maybe consider a bluetooth mouse - It's extremely convenient.

is there a way to power it on without pressing the power button and without using the dock either? (i don't want to get a dock, i don't need it)

I think I use the recent apps button more than any other button on the screen or the dock. Does anyone know if there is a short cut for that button built in to the dock? Maybe a key combo or something? I love how easy it is to switch between apps with that button, but I sometimes wish I didn't have to tap the bottom of the screen to do so.
Does anone know of a keyboard shortcut to do this?
As far as I can see, there is no such thing. This and the lack of accidental touch filtering on the trackpad are the only negatives that I've found in the dock.

The "function" key to disable the touchpad works wonders.
Have you guys tried holding down the home key on the keyboard?
Yes. No dice.
FN+ Home? Maybe shoot an email to asus and see if it's something they will add, or is super hidden.
(I'm just throwing things out there I don't have one, lol)
If you have a TF101 and a dock, with Stock ICS, can you please tell me:
when docked:
1. does clicking the mouse wake your tablet from sleep?
2. does moving the touchpad wake your tablet from sleep?
3. does anything else wake up your tablet, besides opening it up, and the power button?
Thanks, I'm trying to figure out if my dock is normal, or if it has a bad I/O, and I'd rather not have to flash the stock rom just to find out, it's a pain if you're just going to use it for 5 minutes.
touching the mouse pad does wake up mine...
Touching the pad does wake up the screen. Clicking the mouse button also wakes up the screen for me too.
Yes, touching the mousepad / moving mouse cursor / pressing left (only left, not right) button under mousepad wakes my TF up. But that's about it, besides this and power button nothing else does that.
all right, thanks everyone, I guess it sounds like my dock is normal then. (somebody on here told me I might have a bad I/O on my dock and might need to RMA it, but I guess mine is fine)
So, I've flashed the aokp rom on my tf101, and after that my right button on the touchpad (originally the back button) acts as if was a normal click.
It happens the same when i connect an external usb mouse, the right click is the same as the normal click.
Anyone know what i should do to revert this changes?
Thanks
I would also like to know this, as it is very convenient having the back button there.
You mean this is the default binding for the rom?
Anyone who flash it gets the button binded to a standard click?

Has any of you noticed more lags while using the Infinity in "laptop" mode = dock + USB mouse? I'm currently using it with Logitech Anywhere MX wireless mouse which comes with nano USB receiver and I've experienced significant lags which cease to exist the second I stop using the mouse and start using the touchscreen. When using mouse, everything seems less responsive - the menus, home screen, browsers (Chrome less than Dolphin) or even moving the icons.
I have tried Microsoft Touch mouse too (same type of connection) and it gives me very similar results.
I see no errors logged.
Edit: I think it's even similar when using touchpad. Try holding an icon from the home screen and move it quite fast around the screen, see what happens.
yes, i see the same in my tf300t. its a big lag, my pdfs wont render completely when docked

Well this is disheartening....wish I had read this earlier, I would've tested it on the Prime while I was at Best Buy earlier today. When I played with it before, I thought that the dock worked well. I didn't get to really play with it...but I thought it worked well for what I did. I'll take a look at it when I get my tablet (and dock)

When docked in general or while using mouse/touchpad?

Hello there,
Just trying to figure out if there is a button on the keyboard dock that wakes up the screen. I seem to have pressed every key on it but haven't had any luck.
Is pushing the power button on the tablet the only way to wake the screen? Is there a setting I am missing that will let me wake it from the keyboard as well? Thanks!

Under power saving or battery settings, there's the option to select "Wake screen on keyboard press" (or something. Can't check atm, my battery is empty.) Check that.

Ah, just found it under power management. Hmm, says that it takes more power to use this feature. I'm wondering how much that will drain my battery by having this feature enabled. Didn't realize it would use more power just to enable this.
Thanks!

It takes more power because your keyboard needs to stay "awake" all the time to get ready when you hit the key to turn the screen back on.

All I do is fold the screen and then pull it up again, this way I never have to use the power button.
