[Q] wrong image when flashing any firmware - HTC Sensation

hello
i'm trying to flash the Firmware 3.32.401.x & 3.32.401.10x RUU from this post http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1412618 by mike1986 because i want to update the rom Android Revolution HD 6.6.2 XE (Audio Beats)
but whenever i do that, it says ...no image or wrong image PG58IMG.zip
can someone help me, i'm really new with it.
my phone's current settings
build number 3.25.401.101 CL275847 release-keys
baseband: 11.69.3504.00U_11.22.3504.07_M
kernel: 3.0.16-g5e58c5e
software: android revolution HD 6.2.1 XE by mike1986

You need to be slightly more specific than that. What have you done so far, step-by-step?
Edit: did you place PG58IMG.zip in the root folder of your SD card and did you check the md5sum of your PG58IMG.zip?

yeah more info would be helpful.
make sure you dont rename the image PG58IMG.zip.zip (sometimes windows hides filename extensions)

my phone is original before
Last time i rooted it, s-off ...flash the firmware 3.25 to install mike's 6.21 ICS rom and it worked well
so now i want to update to 6.62 rom, i downloaded the firmware 3.32 to my sdcard root...press the volumn down + power button to hboot and flash the firmware
but it keeps say that. how can i upgrade the firmware?
thanks

Have you checked if the file is really named PG58IMG.zip (stupid question, I know, but there was one time I ended up with PG58IMG (1).zip)? Alternative try downloading the file again (could be a bad download) or format your SD card before downloading the file again.

yes, i can confirm the name is correct, i formatted my card many times, tried new sdcard also.
downloaded the file many times..any idea?

hope someone can help me

are you SuperCID ?? if you are not the firmware must be matched

+1 to that
check the cid first
to verify CID use fastbbot command
"fastboot getvar cid"
this should give you the cid

yes, i have writtend the cid ...it's 11111111
any other possible reason?
Thanks guys

wrong image error comes when cid doesn't matches
and no image comes when the name is not proper
can you verify which error you are getting
Also check md5 of the firmware it might be a bad download
also if possible screen shot would be better
confirm the cid again once using fastboot command

The error:
SD Checking...
Loading...[PG58DIAG.zip]
No image!
Loading...[PG58DIAG.nbh]
No image or wrong image!
Loading...[PG58IMG.zip]
Then it says:
Parsing...[SD ZIP]
[1] RECOVERY
Do you want to start update?
if i choose yes, it updates done but the latest 3.32 version not appear.
--------------------------------
here's what i did to confirm the cid
cd C:\adb
adb devices
adb reboot-bootloader
fastboot getvar cid
it shows cid 11111111
i checked md5 and it's match. Any other help please?
Thanks

anyone please help me

In that case you have already flashed the firmware from PG58IMG.zip. The "no image" and "wrong image" are referring to the other 2 files, which you aren't flashing, so that's perfectly fine. The build number under Phone Settings doesn't reflect the firmware; it comes from the ROM itself. Try flashing ARHD 6.62 XE and see if it works.

[Q] Downgrade hboot 1.23 to 1.17.011?

Hello, i'm sorry for my bad english, I'm french and I'm a little lost with my new phone, I've upgraded my Htc Sensation Hboot 1.17.011 to Hboot 1.23, but I want to restaure to 1.17.0011...It is possible to do that? Where can I found that firmware?
Hope you will understand my question, if you can give me a little help please, and I'm very sorry for my english but I think it's better than the google trad...
thank you everyone
If you want to stay on a 4.0.3 rom, you cannot downgrade to 1.17 as they won't boot without it.
But in the dev section, in the partition info thread, there is an boot flash able version of the 1.17 hboot somewhere in it.

Thanks, I just want to install the Elegancia Rom but when I tried the boot bug and stop at the boot animation, you said in the dev section, in the partition info thread...is that one http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1412618 ? and what I've to download please?
thanks
So you upgraded your firmware to 3.12, no? You need that to run any ICS Rom. Why do you need hboot 1.17? You still can flash Roms whith hboot 1.23 as long as you are s-off and supercid. Anyway, you can find hboot 1.17 here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=20681060&postcount=22
Cheers

@ar4l, thanks, and yes I can flash but when I reboot my phone it freeze at the boot animation, it's the 3.12 firmware but Elegancia is not an ICS rom isn't it?
There are two versions of elegantia, one on GB and oneon ICS 4.0.3.
The second one requires the new 3.12 firmware with Hboot 1.23, the first one can run with both.
You really don't need to downgrade. If you have the boot bug is because you probably didn't flash the Firmware 3.12.401.2 following the correct procedure, First you should SUPERCID (step 4), reinstall 3.12.401.2 firmware from the thread you mentioned, reinstall whichever rom you want.
In alternative, if you don't want to SuperCID, you can follow mike1986's instructions to manually add your CID and MID to the firmware package:
1. Check your CID using fastboot getvar cid and MID using fastboot getvar mid
2a. If your CID and MID are supported by default, navigate to point 3.
2b. If your CID or MID is not supported by default, do this: (you do it at your own risk)
2c. Open PG58IMG.zip (don't extract it)
2d. Open android-info.txt in text editor
2e. Add your cidnum: <your CID> or modelid: <your MID> to the list, save file and close archive
3. Place PG58IMG.zip on your SD card
4. Boot your device holding power button + vol down button
5. Follow instructions on the screen

[Guide] Solved Problem - Error flashing RUU + Guide

Hey Guys,
My Problem:
got a little Problem with the TMO Europe RUU.
I have to go back to Stock due to a warrenty issue. Thus I wanted to do this with the above mentioned RUU.
I first was on ICS with new 3.25 firmware. So i went back to old 3.12 FW and the 1.17 HBOOT. After that I installed the ARHD 4.x.x
When I now try to update it says update from 2.0.8,... to 1.45
but when it about to Start there is this 155~159 Error which says that it is not the right RUU
My Sensation was shipped with TMO Branding thats the reason why i tried it with this RUU
I also tried some other setting like:
super cid' ed again
3.24 firmware
different RUU
...
Can someone help me please
Solution that worked for me:
You have to be sure that you took the right RUU otherwise it's no good
Do this on your own risk ! For me it worked without any problems
start the ruu an continue till the step where it says update from X.X.xXX to your y.y.yyy
change the view of your Windows folders the way that you can see the hidden files
go to c:\User\YOURNAME\appdata\local\temp
there search in one of the last edited folders (which has to be name cryptic like :{18abb736-d55c-4fa4-a3e5-7c78512fa924} for Rom.zip
copy it to somewhere you'll find again
name it to PG58IMG.zip
put it on your sdcard
restart into bootloader and it will update to your chosen ruu

Htc sense vodafone various issues

Ok im not sure where to start but anyway
i have the vodafone ireland htc sense and few months back i rooted the phone but didnt change the stock mod.
every so often updates came out and i didnt update cuz it wouldnt allow me it would give me that error with the android fella and i would have to do something to fix it i forget what.
anyway
so last night i wanted to install THIS ROM (black forest)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1423684
it said i needed to update the firmware and then thats when it went into a bootlooping
i fixed the eventual bootlooping but formatting just about everything but i backed everything up when i mounted
but now it doesnt load past the white HTC screen
in the recovery screen it says all this
*****LOCKED****
pyramid PVT SHIP s-off RL
HDBOOT-1.27.0000
Radio-10.14.9035.01_m
eMMC-boot
jane 13 2012,17:33:34
also when i load it it automatically looks for an image which i dont have any more
pg58diag.zip
edit:
i read and did this
You need to re-flash the ICS firmware from here --> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1412618
If it's an ICS ROM, flash the second one. If it's a Gingerbread ROM, flash the first one. Put the PG58IMG.zip on your SD card along with your ROM. Hold VOL-DOWN while you boot, and I think it asks you if you'd like to update (you do). You then need to remove the PG58IMG.zip from your SD card.
Boot into recovery after that and flash your ROM. If it still boot loops, that means you didn't flash the PG58IMG file correctly.
it says
cid incorrect update failed

Hi,
You need to go HERE
Read the thread carefully, and it will guide you to which PG58IMG.zip you need for your phone.
Once you have flashed the appropriate firmware (PG58IMG.zip) it is important to delete the PG58IMG.zip from your sd card.
Then ,you can super wipe and flash your ROM.
right ill try this
but at the moment
when i get into recovery it loads the some file and it says wrong cid and it asks to reboot but it didnt
i dont have a card reader so im going to to a cafe of something
cheers for this
1. fastboot load into the bootloader and do:
fastboot getvar cid
fastboot getvar mid
If you don't have fastboot I have provided a download of it at the bottom of this post. Read the Read-Me file inside of it.
2. For those without fastboot you can use an app called CID Getter. CID is displayed at the top. MID is at the line ro.mid
This will not tell if you are SuperCID or not it just tells your original CID.
3. If you want to do it by terminal, open a terminal on the phone and do:
su
getprop ro.cid
getprop ro.mid

yup checked it before, i put the zip normally to "sdcard/"
maybe the wrong firmware?
It's Sensation XE without branding(Eng/Ger), it was a test-device/example directly from HTC
Please check SuperCID worked. Reboot into bootloader and run fastboot getvar cid from your PC. The result should be 11111111.

You must have an working adb and fastboot setup.
If you do not know about adb and fastboot read them.
Go through the following thread.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1480061
Alternatively you can check your CID on the phone itself. But you must have an terminal app.
Open terminal app. and type the following command without the quote.
" getprop ro.cid "
same problem
same problem
please help
For ARHD 6.2.1 you need 3.24/3.25 firmware. Download from fw thread, check md5 and flash in bootloader, assuming your CID is supported or you have superCID as above.
For newer rom versions you would then need newer firmware.

Hi! First of all I would like to thank everyone that helped me to get that update via OTA successfully. Now I'm running debranded Android 4.2.2 Sense 5 and I would like to share with you this clear TWRP Backup of freshly installed ROM. All I did to this I made a factory reset before making a backup. I made a backup with TWRP 2.6.3.0 (openrecovery-twrp-2.6.3.0-k2_ul.img). The backed up partitions are: Boot, Data and System.

Instructions to the firmware.zip

Things I've done to flash firmware (I have S-off):
adb reboot bootloader
fastboot erase cache
fastboot oem rebootRUU
fastboot flash zip firmware.zip
fastboot reboot
Now everything should be in working order (network, speaker)
afterwards dont forget to flash back twrp recovery:
adb reboot bootloader
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
fastboot reboot

You can also flash the firmware.zip by changing it name to PL80IMG.zip and placing it on your sd card. Then avoiding the adb and fastboot this time just reboot to bootloader (just reboot the device by pressing power and selecting Restart and just after screen turns off hold the VOL- button until the bootloader appears), then it would search for the file you placed on sd card. When it'll find it it will ask you for flash - confirm by pressing VOL+, then after it completes - POWER to reboot.
If you want, i can put it on my dev-host or androidfilehost account.

You can put the link into your first post.
I'll come back, when upload to androidfilehost is finished.
Would be nice if you attached the firmware files too, because network doesnt work with old radio/baseband
Temporary link to firmware: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/905514/firmware.zip
Please reupload it somewhere else.

fastboot flash zip firmware.zip
fastboot reboot

fastboot flash recovery recovery.img

btw. imho this is the fastest way to get new update if you're not fully stock

Missing language
Yesterday I tried to install this backup. The update process was without any problems but I had the noisy voice. So I went back to Saturn III.
I have seen there is a firmware.zip. Can I use TWRP to install? Or how must this be done???
Another problem was/ is that I couldn't select the right language: I have found "Deutsch (Belgien)" etc but there was no "Deutsch (Deutschland)".
@ old.splatterhand
I believe you have tried this ROM. Which one did you used?
Yes, i tried it. When i remember right, i used Deutschland (United Kingdom).
There popped up various variants to flash the firmware files, but as i didn't i can't give any guide or helping hand at this point.
I will wait, 'til the OTA for my phone is coming, so i will be sure, that i have the correct file (with correct language) for flashing.

Ups, sorry!
I made a restore with your file and flashed the given firmware with bootloader. It did Not fix my sound problem. Do I need to be s-off to make it work?
-My radio is still 1.15.40a...
-K2ul, s-on, unlocked, rooted
-I installed the 32mb firmware.zip from the first post by changing the name and following instructions
Sent from my HTC One SV using xda app-developers app
If somebody try use this backup with CID not listed here? I have some problem with this. MD5 is correct but twrp shows loading failure. I have stock odexed 4.1.2 with s-off. My Cid is T-Mobile Poland.

Radio haven't changed...? Weird. Maybe this is because of S-ON and you have different CID than listed in android-info.txt, which prevents the flash. I was doing it being S-OFF. I have no idea.

Loading failure...? Interesting. Did you tried restoring it with TWRP that I have? ( http://techerrata.com/file/twrp2/k2_ul/openrecovery-twrp-2.6.3.0-k2_ul.img ) -- you don't have to flash it, if you don't want to - just place it where you have fastboot on your PC and do fastboot boot [file name here]
Ok. I change recovery and restore work's but I can't load firmware it shows bad Cid in bootloader. I try both via fastboot and PL80... file. So I must change Cid becouse without this I have noise problem while calling. Is it correct route ?

To be honest... @old.splatterhand said somewhere that it's not a firmware.zip related bug, but it's somewhere inside system files. So propably, when you'll restore from my backup, you should have everything working. Propably. I'm not sure about it, because I haven't tested it myself. And I'm S-OFF so it makes another difference.
Bluetooth was not firmware, noisy problem i think it is.
@marceli-szpak
Yes, change your cid otherwise it will fail.

To be honest - Before ICS downgrade and making updates via OTA on different CID, I've updated bootloader with firmware.zip (the radio version has changed and stuff) and then flashed the odexed 4.2.2 ROM via TWRP and the noisy calls were still there.
