also when i load it it automatically looks for an image which i dont have any more
pg58diag.zip
edit:
i read and did this
You need to re-flash the ICS firmware from here --> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1412618
If it's an ICS ROM, flash the second one. If it's a Gingerbread ROM, flash the first one. Put the PG58IMG.zip on your SD card along with your ROM. Hold VOL-DOWN while you boot, and I think it asks you if you'd like to update (you do). You then need to remove the PG58IMG.zip from your SD card.
Boot into recovery after that and flash your ROM. If it still boot loops, that means you didn't flash the PG58IMG file correctly.
it says
cid incorrect update failed

Hi,
You need to go HERE
Read the thread carefully, and it will guide you to which PG58IMG.zip you need for your phone.
Once you have flashed the appropriate firmware (PG58IMG.zip) it is important to delete the PG58IMG.zip from your sd card.
Then ,you can super wipe and flash your ROM.
right ill try this
but at the moment
when i get into recovery it loads the some file and it says wrong cid and it asks to reboot but it didnt
i dont have a card reader so im going to to a cafe of something
cheers for this
1. fastboot load into the bootloader and do:
fastboot getvar cid
fastboot getvar mid
If you don't have fastboot I have provided a download of it at the bottom of this post. Read the Read-Me file inside of it.
2. For those without fastboot you can use an app called CID Getter. CID is displayed at the top. MID is at the line ro.mid
This will not tell if you are SuperCID or not it just tells your original CID.
3. If you want to do it by terminal, open a terminal on the phone and do:
su
getprop ro.cid
getprop ro.mid

Hi,
Fastboot is done on the pc,once you plugged your phone in with a USB.
If you cannot do this, then use method 2 or 3 .

In order to make sure that you have the correct drivers, install the latest version of HTC Sync.
If it does not work the first time, close it all, then try again.

What md5 checksum do you want to check ?? There are many utilities to check md5 checksum on computer. Run superwipe script , then install Android Revolution HD 6.2.1 , You have the correct firmware for it. I can see.
I have a same problem.
Didn't read the thread very well and I upgraded the wrong firmware.
Now, I just see the ''HTC'' logo and after that it's only rebooting over and over again. I downloaded the firmware I needed, thought I will just replace it with this ''broken'' one, but I'm getting errors all the time. And after that, again rebooting.
HTC Sensation, S-Off, first firmware was 2.3.4.
Error is: ''CID incorrect, update fail'' in HBOOT.
Only way I can stop rebooting after that message is to take out the battery.
Anyone got any other solutions except the first answer?
Thank you in advance, sorry about my bad english.
NOTE: I'm a noob at this, just wanted ICS on my phone. So, please, explain it in ''moron language''

Pull the card out and boot it into hboot mode. Then to recovery. Mount your sd card. Plug it into your computer. Delete the incorrect firmware. Find a superwipe zip. Flash Zip. Then flash correct firmware.

It looks like you have a valid version of the Firmware (HBOOT 1.27.1100). However you need to understand that that version ONLY supports ICS ROMs, so it won't support your old ROM even if you recover it. Also as usual you should SuperWipe when changing things this dramatically.
As you still seem to be able to get into Recovery try the following:
i) Download the Superwipe Script from the ARHD thread, in the Downloads bit in he first post.
ii) Download a full ICS ROM, take your pick (my preference is Virtuous Inquisition 3.5).
iii)Copy the files over to the SD-card from your PC.
iv) Delete the PG59IMG.zip from the SD-card. (ADDED IN EDIT1)
In recovery, run the Superwipe Script. Then Install the ICS ROM. The first re-boot will take a few mins.
To check MD5s just get a free MD5 checker for your PC and also get one for the phone, when it's backup up and running.

You haven't detailed what your HBOOT is at the moment, what does it say if you go into BootLoader ?
As it's mentioning CID, I assume you didn't SuperCID the phone, not an issue just get the right one for you CID from:

After you update the Firmware you'll need to:
i) SuperWipe
ii) Install ICS ROM
iii) Remove the PG58IMG.zip file from the SD-Card.

HBOOT installed the PG58IMG.zip file and after that he's just rebooting.
I have T-Mobile Europe carrier but my HTC is unlocked.
Now, I don't really know what firmware to download or how to check for the right one. Also, I don't know how to SuperWipe or anything so I need someone just to write all the steps. From Wipe to ROM. Tried that, still stuck in the loop. I think half the firmware update has ran, then it has failed, so i need to roll back...
Download both the 3.30 and 3.12 FW. Open the 3.12 zip on your computer and replace just the Hboot file with the one from the 3.30 zip. Then flash the customized zip so you'll have the 3.30 fw with the 3.12 boatloader (1.23 not 1.27) and then flash a 3.30 Rom.
Some phones arent booting with the 1.27 bootloader that comes with the 3.24 and 3.30 fw.

I had the same problem when I first tried to flash a rom, you just have to find the right firmware for your CID, find yours here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1459767, and if you don't know your CID just superCID as shown in the guide here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1192300 and skip steps 5,6,7, just manually boot into bootloader.
If you want you can also see what I did on this thread here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1516373

Are you s-off ? If you are S-OFF , then you need not have any file.
Just boot into bootloader.
Open a fastboot terminal in pc.
and type
fastboot oem writecid 11111111
fastboot reboot-bootloader
fastboot getvar cid
After this you will get a reply like this CID : 11111111
If you are not S-OFF, then first install adb and fastboot in your pc from here for windows or from here for linux and follow this guide.
How To get your Hboot Version - 3 methods below
1. Run the revolutionary Utility you just downloaded from http://revolutionary.io/ and if it has found your device it should read
"Found your Device: HTC Sensation Z710* Applications -> Development)
4. With the phone switched on (not in HBOOT, just the regular home screen), plug in your USB cable and select HTC sync mode.(IGNORE any warning messages on your phone telling you it cannot find HTC Sync )
5. Launch revolutionary.exe. It should detect the phone and ask for your beta key. Type it (BE CAREFUL, as its case sensitive) or copy and paste it in.
If Revolutionary fails to find your phone verify you have all the drivers installed, try disk drive mode or charging mode (Linux users can use disk drive mode. Confirmed to be working by others)
6. Once you have entered your beta key correctly, follow any on screen prompts or actions from revolutionary and wait for it to S-Off,
7. You're done. Your Device will Successfully have S-OFF....if it hangs on method 3 and doesn't S-Off. See post 2 below for solutions.
IF REVOLUTIONARY SAYS FAILED YOUR PHONE IS NOT SUPPORTED. Go back and check hboot using the methods above. some users are told its failed and they still have S off now. If you have S-off your hboot will now be 1.17.1011 and revolutionary will tell you now your device is not supported
8. Revolutionary will now ask you to Install clockwork recovery mod after S OFF. Type N and install it manually below (the recovery provided is v4.0.1.4 doesn't charge when device is switched off, the one below v5.0.0.1 does charge)
9. Your Device now is S-off.

By fastboot terminal I mean :
Open command prompt in windows.
CD to the directory where adb and fastboot installed ( generally platform-tools folder in the sdk).( Boot your phone into bootloader mode. and connect to pc)
Now type :
in the command prompt:
fastboot oem writecid 11111111
fastboot reboot-bootloader
fastboot getvar cid
After this you will get a reply like this CID : 11111111

First post. Hi all. I have rooted phones for years now and am finally at a loss of what to do with this current phone I have. I have a HTC sensation. I just S-offed it and was trying to install clolckwork mod 5.0.0.8 and it says model id incorrect and I am stuck in a boot loop. I must have downloaded 15 different PG58IMG files and they all say the same thing..... model id incorrect. I just got this phone in the mail. Revolutionary S-offed it. Then when it asked "Revolutionary will now ask you to Install clockwork recovery mod after S OFF. Type N and install it manually" from the [Guide] to Installing S-off, Unlocking, ClockWork, Root, SuperCID & S-on. Now I am stuck in a boot loop. Does anyone have any idea of how to get this phone working again??

I have successfully rooted a HTC sensation before. My phone got stolen out of my work truck and this is the replacement phone I just got yesterday and was going to do go through all the stuff to install android revolution HD on it. and right after s-off it boot looped. Next step was to install clockwork mod and thats where im stuck. I have no recovery installed because that was the next step. Any insight/help appreciated thanks
If you a have sd card adapter, you can download CWM Recovery form Here rename it PG58IMG and put on the root of sd card.
Put your sd card back into the phone and reboot in bootloader and it will install recovery. When you are done, delete or rename PG58IMG from sd card.
Btw what is your model Id?
Download terminal emulator from the market and detect it by typing "getprop ro.mid" (without quotes).
Inside the PG58IMG there is a text file with MID and CIDs which you could eventually edit in case of mismatch.
Hope it helps!
Also, instead of CWM you could try installing 4ext
Sent from my HTC Sensation using XDA
Ok I will try that. I looked under battery on my phone it say PG58100. SInce I cant get into my phone because of the boot loop I cannot download that program you mentioned. So should I open the android-info.txt in the PG58IMG and change
modelid: PG5813000
to

????
and then try the update?

If you have adv setup and can boot to bootloader
you can try installing 4ext recovery using fastboot commands.....here is link for touch recovery image
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1377759
Command
Fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
from my HTC Sensation XE with Beats Audio using XDA
Just wondering if you flashed a wrong PG58IMG (ICS firmware instead of recovery).
You are on ICS firmware now but your rom is a GB I guess. This can be the reason of boot loop.
If this is the case read carefully and download the right PG58IMG (firmware 1.17 if your rom is a Gingerbread) from here.
Unfortunately all the bootloader flashable zips are named PG58IMG, but their content is different.
Heres what I did. Took phone out of the box. turned it on. used it for a couple minutes. Then I did the whole revolutionary s-off process. Then I did this
-----------------------------------------------
STEP 2. To INSTALL Recovery - v5.0.0.8
1. Download recovery v5.0.0.8 for the Sensation HERE: or Multiupload
2. Copy the PG58IMG file into the Root folder of your SD card (The main Folder of your Memory Card)
3. Turn off your phone FUlly and reboot into the Bootloader/HBOOT screen (see post above on how to get to hboot screen)
4. Press Volume up to Accept when it asks" Do you want to start the update"
5. Press Power Off to Reboot back to android after installation is successful (normal screen with homescreen)
6. Delete PG58IMG from your memory card and you can now root using step 3 below or install a custom ROM using CWM (Customs Roms are already rooted)
--------------------------------------------------
I downloaded the older 5.0.0.8 because it worked for me in the past when I rooted my old HTC sensation.
Now its saying no image even though I renamed it to PG58IMG.zip
And it still stuck on a loop. SO alls I did so far was s-off a brand new phone.
Thank you all. Phone is back to normal. I did the 1.17 firmware that kualmente mentioned. So now my phone is a stock phone but just S-off'd. The next step is to install a recovery. Do i even have to install clockwork mod or can I just put on 4EXT recovery? if so how. I was just following directions from this thread.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1192300
And step two says to install clockwork mod so thats what I was going to do. but I know i need 4EXT later anyway to install android revolution
I personally prefer 4ext touch recovery but basically both cwm and 4ext have same functions.
There is a nice tool to easily install 4ext recovery touch HERE
I'm all back up and running android revolution 6.5.5
Thanks for all your quick responses.

No i didnt flash the 3.32 firmware...
You flashed the firmware (otherwise you wouldn't have hboot 1.27).
Most probably you did'nt flash the rom and you are still on GB. This is why it bootloops.
Did you install a custom recovery (cwm or 4ext)? If not do it and then flash the rom from recovery

random rebooting after flashing CM9 nightly roms. seems to be some kind of bug every time i start an application or turn on mobile data it cuases a reboot. i have flashed all of the following roms in an attempt to fix the problem:
PkMn ROM 4.1 Charmander
OrDroid V6.0.0
and the latest official cyanogenmod nightly
i did a restore to an ics lee droid rom i previously backed up before
and it seemed to run without a problem but after that i re flashed PkMn ROM for the sensation and now it performs a hot reboot instead. if anyone could help it would be greatly apprieciated as the problem seems to worsen after every reboot.
some times it would just go into a bootloop.

I think some partition is still corrupted.. I recommend you to do a wipe from recovery rather than scripts (if using 4ext then wipe/format ->>format all partitions except sdcard) and then flash another rom Again
If that didn't solved the issue RUU is the next thing.. If you are soff and supercid then get any ics RUU and run it.. It completely formats through phone and takes everything to stock.. But still retains soff.. So you revert back to normal once you do a ruu run(remember ruu run should be done with device in fastboot)

Before you look into a partition problem, which is a pain to fix, check to make sure the battery is securely seated in the phone.
The batteries can become loose over time. Not very loose, but just enough to break electrical contact. And if the electrical contact is broken and restored quickly, a reboot is likely.
Open the phone and see if the battery wiggled. See if you can create the reboot problem by jiggling the battery. If you can, there are a few things to try to make the battery tighter.

ok we do it different way then
first extract the rom.zip from any ICS RUU (choose one )
here is the guide to extract the rom.zip
http://www.htcsensationforum.com/htc-sensation-rooting/how-to-extract-rom-zip-from-ruu/
then keep the rom.zip in adb folder
keep the phone in fastboot
and connect it to pc (mobile reads "fastboot usb")
now type these commands one by one
1.fastboot erase cache
2.fastboot oem rebootRUU
3.fastboot flash zip rom.zip
4.fastboot reboot
if worked fine otherwise
im particularly interested in the complete output of the third command
so use PASTEBIN to paste the output and then repost the url with the pasted output

Some questions. The method from above is the same one used for flashing engineering bootloader after JB S Off
So, what exactly is this RUU mode? And does it bypass CID and fw version checks?
Also, what are the requirements for this mode to work (i.e. S-Off, unlocked bootloader)?
What are the benefits of using this over renaming rom.zip to PG58IMG.zip and flashing?
Thanks a lot for this. It will surely come in handy sometime & will definitely go into my guide.

its the same way as flashing via PG58IMG way
to bluntly say the PG58IMG flashing ..internally does the flashing the same way I've put it
RUU mode is the lowest level(visible) mode where flashing of bootloader, firmware, radio and even ROM is possible but the file format should be of PG58IMG zip
so simply put any PG58IMG.zip file which is not being parsed by bootloader properly can be manually flashed the above way
the same requirements that apply for PG58IMG.zip file applies over here too
i.e SOFF (irrespective of type of bootloader)
or unlocked bootloader with SON ...(remember in this case as only recovery, boot, data, system partitions are opened only those partitions can be flashed )

no please don't get me wrong
at the end the zip we are flashing requires android-info.txt too (PG58IMG.zip has it too) which has cid and mid to it
the cid check is bypassed only when you are SOFF or has unlocked bootloader (for unlocked bootloader ..we still require cid signed radio, hboot (firmware) to update them via this method ..this is required as they are still secured [SON])
the above way of flashing gives you much more detail of whats happening when on command prompt..where we can identify the problem ..when flashing RUU..precisely

So basically i want to start "tuning" my Htc SENSATION XE, and i was looking around to install a cool ROM and i found that Revolutionary 6.7.0 with beats audio.
I was reading all the steps in order to successfully install the ROM.
Ofc my phone is alrdy S-OFF with supercid, but KEEP IN MIND IT WAS NOT ENG H-BOOT.
So i've rooted my phone, rebooted and all went smooth.. than i saw i was in need to update the RADIO.img, in order to do that i need the ENG-H BOOT. (HERE COMES THE PROBLEM)
I've flashed the ENG - HBOOT but when i reboot my phone it won't work, it just keep booting and stuck in beatsaudio logo, than reboot again and again.
So i've tried to restore by using a backup that i've done. Also i've deleted the PG58xxx.img and installed 3.3 firmware, nothing to do still not working, still bootloading and restart.
PLS Any help?
Thats what i see in Fastboot mode

I'm not 100 percent sure but your hboot doesn't seem right it should be 1.27. Try flashing the unlock version of 3.32 or 3.33 and try installing a rom.
Sent from my Sensation using xda app-developers app
The hboot you flashed is Completely wrong one
To have correct one.. Flash the 3.32 universal Firmware Then 3.33 firmware
Or alternatively you can flash the jb hboot
For jb hboot go here
http://unlimited.io/hboot-downloads/
Get the pyramid ics one.. From there
And flash it the following way
Connect the phone in bootloader to pc.
Copy the downloaded file to the adb/fastboot folder of your pc.
.. Open a command windows from your adb/fastboot folder
Then type these commands one by one
fastboot erase cache (if failed ignore it)
fastboot oem rebootRUU (black screen with silver htc)
fastboot flash zip jb_hboot.zip (if failed here.. Let me know)
fastboot reboot

flashing a RUU ..except SOFF and CID change (if you changed to superCID) you will lose everything ..so better do a backup of complete rom ...on sdcard ..then flash RUU and check it for yourself ..if you feel like reverting back
then ..just hboot flash like explained earlier
then custom recovery
then restore your backup

I've searched far and wide, and I found a lot of threads regarding the specifics of my problem, but none that solve it. A point in the right direction is much appreciated.
I have an AT&T HTC One X (used to be S-OFF now S-ON), unlocked, HBOOT 1.12.0002 CID 1111111
I've been running CM 10.1.3 for a while now and it's very glitchy and causes random reboots and freezes. I've been trying to upgrade to 10.2 or try a variety of different roms. When flashing I kept getting the following error: E:Error executing updater binary in zip..
I lived with the rom for a while because of the error, but today got fed up. I googled it and found out TWRP was probably the problem so I downgraded to 2.3.3.0. Then I got a (Status 7) error which means either that the ROM is not for the Evita (not true) or TWRP is out of date (true but necessary). I tried getting the .zip to stop checking what phone it was, didn't work.
SO I wonder if I have to upgrade HBOOT? I google it and try this guide.
It all worked up until the adb part, where at first it said the device was not there, then that it was offline, then it said permission denied. So I tried again thinking I did something wrong, but after flashing zip it said "FAILED(remote:99 unknown fail).
Now my phone is S-ON and stuck in bootloop. I'll flash boot.img and hopefully it will be fine, but I just want to know what the hell is wrong with my phone, any ideas? I cannot possibly continue with this stupid ROM as it's driving me nuts, but PHONE NOT COOPERATING.
Thanks!!!!!

Since you are S-On with SuperCID, I would say to revert back to your original CID and then flash the appropriate RUU. Make sure you definitely change back to your original CID, as trying to run the RUU with S-ON and SuperCID will brick your phone. You can then re-SuperCID your phone, unlock the bootloader, and try a new custom ROM. I would also recommend getting back to S-OFF after doing all of the above.
Sent from my HTC One XL using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
Hang on, there's something very fishy here. The hboot 1.12 is not an Evita hboot, that's an Endeavoru hboot. Please post your hboot details (the first five lines in bootloader), and please post the full filename of the ROM you're flashing.
I believe you're confused as to which device you actually have, and you're potentially trying to flash a ROM that isn't meant for your device.

Thanks!!!!!

adb version
How u get S-ON again anyway after S-OFF......FAILED 99 : check your adb version by entering this on your adb folder......most likely u got 1.0.29 version which is always show device offline....u need to update it to 1.0.31 version ....check other Q&A thread.....it been talking over and over again......if u do first XDA rules.....READ. As per timmaaa requested ......in case u dont know ...... power off your phone.....then hold both power button+vol down for few second and only let go power button while u still holding vol down.....this will bring u to bootloader

No I have "Android Debug Bridge version 1.0.31".
Ah ok, that makes more sense! Are you absolutely sure the ROM you're flashing is an Evita ROM? Where did you download it and what is the full filename?
You said the phone was s-on but not anymore? Why did you return it to s-on? You're gonna need to get s-off again so you can RUU up to 3.18 so you can flash the recent aosp ROMs. When you get the error 99 after flashing the zip, just force a reboot back to bootloader by holding volume down and power together. Once you're back in bootloader you can start again (without the adb reboot bootloader command because you're already in bootloader) and you should get error 92 now. Now, before you give the adb soffbin commands you need to make sure the screen is unlocked and stays unlocked, also make sure usb debugging is enabled in developer options. If it's an aosp ROM you'll also need to grant root access to adb in developer options.
For now my suggestion would be to download a Sense ROM, preferably Android 4.0 or 4.1, this should at least boot and enable you to get s-off on your phone again. Don't forget top flash the boot.img via fastboot.

Your adb version is fine, you can leave that the way it is.

I decided to boot into recovery and flash CM 10.0.0, and so I got out of bootloop. It's very glitchy, the keyboard keeps crashing, but it "works".
Now I'm trying to get S-OFF using this tool. At first it didn't work, so I changed the CID back to original. Now I get the following error:
Before we continue:
Ensure your phone is rooted.
Disable "Fast boot" on the phone under Settings -> Power.
Enable "USB Debugging" under Settings -> Developer Options.

It might be that I did not disable fastboot, but that is because the option is just not available on the phone, there is no "Power" category. I did enable debugging, but there was no notification in the menu bar making me maybe think that the OS is just too glitchy for this to work.
I didn't know what else to do, tried unlocking the bootloader through HTCDev but when I got to step 13 the notification did not come on screen like it was supposed to and so that was unsuccessful. I guess this was a silly idea.
I'm trying to be as descriptive as possible in case this happens to anyone else!
Cannot find stock Android 4.1 as suggested, for some reason. I found this, but I have a mac and .exe files mean nothing to me. I figure 10.0.0 has to be as stable as it gets with what I have, so I reflashed and boot.img. Now I'm stuck in bootloop again! Am I not meant to have nice things?
Could you suggest a rom to download and flash? After that I'll try S-OFF via Facepalm again.

Well try any ICSbase rom......i did tried cleanrom 4.2 ICS base Rom sense 4.......but since u on 1.14 hboot u need to extract boot.img from original Rom to your working adb/fastboot folder and push it manually from fastboot.....
1.put ICS of your choice inside ur SD card
2.copy or extract boot.img from Rom you about to flash and place it inside your working adb/fastboot folder.
3.connect your phone to PC and make sure USB debugging check....and HTC driver install properly
4. Flash Rom from recovery and choose go back> reboot> bootloader and this would bring u to fastboot USB mode if u have correct driver install and USB debugging check .
5. Go to your adb/fastboot folder hold shift+right click > open command Window .....and enter code to push boot. img tru fastboot......I forgot the code...but I'm sure timmaaa knew out of his head......
6.if successfull......reboot system and u should have working ics sense 4 Rom
7.play with it a day or too before u attempt facepalm S-OFF and in the mean time do more reading.......
