Hi All,
I wanted to ask if we can place Application preloaders in Android OS rather than bundling applications in ROM?
In blackberry it is possible to place application preloaders, when clicked it takes you to download site to download the application.
My question is to ask if it is possible to do the same in Android 2.3.5?

Hello,
I have a motorola milestone 2 and was wondering if it was possible to setup a development environment on the phone itself instead of having to write the code and package it on the pc before installing it on the phone.
Sorry if it's a dumb question, I'm pretty new to the whole android world and couldn't find amything about it on google.
Bye,
Or.
Android dev on Android device.
So am I to understand that this is impossible???
Hi All!
Well I am starting to get into app development for Android as well as other things as I progress through school. I downloaded and extracted the adt bundle from developer.android.com and am very confused. I know that every android device out there is not ready or capable to be running Android 4.2.2 as case in point my Galaxy Note 2 running 4.1.1. How do I download and access those other versions of the Android SDK then because I want my apps to be able to be ran on multiple devices. Please if you can offer me some assistance I would gladly appreciate it.

correct me if im wrong, but when you are choosing details about the application you can set the minimum software which is compatible and the highest? So set 2.2 and 4.2? then it covers all versions.. unless I've misunderstood your question
you can open android sdk manager. and you select all version sdk and download the sdk and install it.
Hi all,
We want to develop a Custom ROM for Android devices with the following requirements.
After successfully launching the OS, it will automatically run or specific application with its home screen.
We also need to create our own App store which will contains all collections of our apps. It can be downloaded and use on that tablet/device. We also want to remove or restrict restrict any installation from Google playstore.
Once new android version come then we can push it to the device as they are connected to our store.
Please let me know what is the best possible way to work on this scope?
Do we need to work directly on Android Source Code?
Is there any paid custom ROM available so that we can add these features and compile it and flash it on Android device?
Any help will be highly appreciated.
Thank you.
why you want a custom rom with such restrictions?
We have a requirement of a project from one of our potential client. He wants to develop is his own app store and also want to launch his own app as launcher. We have one such example like One of our ticketing company in Lahore Pakistan has and Android tablet, and we gone there for air ticket.*
The man powered ON the android tab and at the end the ticketing app launched automatically.*
So this is our first requirement how to do it and then we want to develop a custom app store for our client. Please let us know if anything is possible.
Thank you.
Hello Everyone, I am not very good at android software development, and I was wondering if anyone knows how to extract files and apks from an android ROM.
The ROM in question is the Nvidia Shield Portable (P2450) stock OS. I have uploaded it in case anybody wanted it.
I am hoping to get the software and files from it so I can customize the Android 10 GSI ROM, and make it look like the original OS (same app launcher, apps, sounds, and wallpapers)
Hey Guys,
I'm curios if any of you tried to install vanilla Android on MediaPad M6 (SCM-W09). I would like to do it but I need help with it. My knowledge is very basic, could you please tell me if there is any working manual which could me guide through this process? What I want to achieve is to have a normal Android with software from hardware producer and if possible working external Huawei keyboard. I bought set: tablet and keyboard.
Best regards
mgolczyk.
Vanilla Android is the Android developed by Google, not containing all the OEM related blobs: it's the base all OEMs use to create a fork matching their devices.
Hi @jwoegerbauer, thank you for replay, what does it mean in details? It means that if I try install vanilla version on this device I can have issue with drivers? I guess that vanilla android has an set of drivers for most popular hardware right? What do you recommend me, abandon the idea and try to install google services with one of the unofficial ways? Do you know if there is a way to install vanilla android on this device?
